As classes ended in the evening, Ye Wan originally planned to visit her brother in the hospital. Upon exiting the school gate, she spotted a luxury car parked at the entrance. The Gu family's bodyguards, standing by the gate, bowed to her upon seeing her.
"What's wrong? Why aren't you moving?" Jiang Yan asked, noticing Ye Wan had stopped.
"You go ahead, I have something to attend to," Ye Wan said to Jiang Yan before turning and walking along the sidewalk.
The bodyguard was… confused.
Although Jiang Yan found it strange, she didn't think much of it and left in her own car.
After the bodyguards got into the car, they followed Ye Wan. By the next intersection, Ye Wan pulled open the car door and got in. Gu Yunting was not inside, which came as a relief. If he were present, would she be in trouble again?
"Where are we going?" Ye Wan asked.
"The hospital."
"What are we going to the hospital for?"
"The young master ordered that Dr. Jin examine your body again."
Ye Wan frowned but said nothing. Upon arriving at the hospital, Jin Lan personally took her to the gynecology department and conducted a series of examinations. After adjusting her medication, the bodyguard took her back to the Gu residence.
Upon her return, she learned that Sun Ma had been appointed as the housekeeper of the Gu residence. Ye Wan congratulated Sun Ma sincerely upon hearing this, as the housekeeper's salary at the Gu residence was much higher than that of ordinary servants.
Sun Ma, however, was worried. "I'm only acting as a temporary replacement. I believe Madam will send a new housekeeper, and I fear she will be another troublesome one."
"Not necessarily. Gu Yunting might not agree," Ye Wan thought that given Gu Yunting's temperament, he might not be influenced by Madam Gu again.
"That would be for the best. I'm not worried about myself, I'm worried about you."
"Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to me," Ye Wan smiled.
"I've made you chicken soup noodles. Eat them while they're hot. No matter how long I'm the housekeeper, I will make sure to nourish you well," Sun Ma said before going to the kitchen to bring Ye Wan the chicken soup noodles.
After finishing the noodles, Ye Wan took a bath towel to shower. No one would deliberately prevent her from using the bathroom now. After a comfortable bath, she returned to her room, drying her hair while reviewing the knowledge points she had learned that day.
Perhaps due to the medication, she leaned back and was dozing off after reading just two pages.
When Gu Yunting returned, he asked Sun Ma where Ye Wan was. Sun Ma said Ye Wan was in her storage room. Hesitating, Sun Ma said, "Young Master, perhaps you could change Ye Wan's room. Girls are very sensitive to staying in cold, damp places for long periods. Her storage room never gets sunlight, which is extremely detrimental to her health, especially after her surgery. Her complexion has been getting worse lately."
Gu Yunting glanced at Sun Ma, who immediately lowered her head, not daring to meet his gaze. Only after he strode away did Sun Ma lift her head and pat her chest. The young master's aura was becoming increasingly powerful, it was too intimidating!
The door to the storage room, which Gu Yunting had previously broken, was now slightly ajar. The man pushed the door open and walked in. His eyes immediately fell on the girl sleeping half-propped up on the small wooden bed. Ye Wan was nearly 1.7 meters tall, and the bed was only about 1.6 meters, so she couldn't even stretch her legs and could only curl up. She wore a pink bathrobe, revealing a section of her fair and smooth calves. Her pair of beautiful small feet looked as if they were made of jade, her pearly toes slightly curled. Her hair was still semi-wet, and her small face was indeed excessively pale, with delicate and lovely features. A notebook was still clutched in her hand.
