Chapter 199 Get Up and Cook Me a Bowl of Noodles

"I'm fine, they're just minor injuries. You should go back too, don't worry about me. If I didn't have some self-preservation skills, I would have died countless times by now," Ye Wan insisted, leaving the hospital despite the objections.

Jiang Mi was helpless. She knew that beauty, for a girl from a poor family, wasn't a blessing but a sin. It wasn't just Ye Wan; even she had to use all her strength to survive over the years.

Fu Huaishen had his subordinates find the wealthy businessmen who had intended to take advantage of Ye Wan that night. The businessmen were terrified and begged for mercy. Fu Huaishen sneered, "When the girl begged you, did you spare her?"

He grabbed one businessman's arm and, with a swift chop, severed his hand. The businessman's screams were horrific, and he promptly fainted. The others, with less courage, had already passed out. These men only dared to bully those in the service industry; when they encountered someone ruthless, they could barely hold themselves together.

Finally, Fu Huaishen chopped off the right hand of each man who had troubled Ye Wan and threw them into the river to feed the fish.

His chest finally felt a little better. When Fu Huaishen rushed back to the hospital, the nurse told him that the young lady had refused to be admitted and had already left.

Fu Huaishen almost had a heart attack from anger. Injured like that, and she refused hospitalization? Didn't she care about her own life?

He tried calling Ye Wan, but her phone was unreachable.

Ye Wan had taken a taxi back to the Gu residence that day. It was too late for the bus, and she wouldn't make it before the Gu residence locked its doors.

Upon her return, Ye Wan jumped into her room through the window and changed out of her blood-stained clothes. Both her knees were scraped, and her chest ached unbearably. Ye Wan pulled open a drawer, took two painkillers and anti-inflammatory pills, swallowed them, and then pulled up the covers to sleep.

Gu Yunting returned a little later than Ye Wan. He glanced in the direction of the downstairs corridor, then went upstairs to shower. After his shower, he came downstairs and unlocked Ye Wan's room to enter.

Seeing that the girl was already asleep, Gu Yunting walked to the bedside and said, "I'm hungry. Get up and cook me a bowl of noodles."

Ye Wan was in pain and didn't want to move. She said, "Ask Grandma Sun to cook for you. It's very simple. I'm too sleepy and want to sleep."

Gu Yunting was displeased upon hearing this. "If I tell you to go, then go! Get up."

He pulled Ye Wan out from under the covers. He wanted to eat her noodles now, and he wanted to eat them with her. Ye Wan was sweating profusely from the pain, the painkillers hadn't taken much effect yet.

"Alright, I'll go." Ye Wan knew she couldn't refuse him and could only get out of bed. As she stood up, she lost her balance and stumbled towards the man beside her.

Gu Yunting caught her and asked, "What's wrong? Still have a fever?"

He reached out to touch her forehead. She wasn't feverish.

"I'm fine, I'll go cook your noodles now." Ye Wan pushed his hand away and slowly walked towards the door, enduring the pain in her knees and chest.

Gu Yunting frowned, looking at her pained expression, and sensed something was wrong. He pulled her back. The slight movement caused Ye Wan to cry out in pain.

"You're injured?"

"It's nothing, I just fell. Minor injuries, I can still cook noodles." Ye Wan said, trying to push him away.

Gu Yunting dared not move her forcefully anymore, but his grip was still strong enough that she couldn't break free. He helped her sit on the bed and asked, "Do you want me to undress and check myself, or will you tell me."

Ye Wan, "..."
