The bathroom door was pulled open, and Gu Yunting walked out. He wore a black bathrobe, his hair still dripping, and his gaze swept over the server setting up dinner for a second before moving away.
Seeing him emerge, Hua Rong smiled and got up, walking over. "Ting, you've finished your bath. Shall I give you a massage now?"
"Mm," Gu Yunting responded. He walked to a recliner and lay down, while Hua Rong began massaging his temples.
Ye Wan quickly glanced up. Seeing the two of them close together, the woman's delicate fingers pressing on the man's temples, she gently inquired, "Is this pressure okay?"
"Just right," Gu Yunting replied with his eyes closed.
No matter how long Ye Wan lingered, she had already finished setting up dinner. However, with an outsider present, she was unsure if this was the right time to approach him.
As she hesitated, she heard Gu Yunting say, "Alright, you're tired too. Rest for a bit."
Ye Wan even detected a hint of concern in his voice, something she had never experienced before. At least with Lin Feifei, he hadn't shown such intimate care. This indicated that this woman was indeed special to him.
"I'm not tired. I'll massage for a little longer," Hua Rong's voice was so soft it could melt. Her scent filled the air.
Ye Wan could smell it too – a very pleasant fragrance.
"Let's eat first," Gu Yunting sat up and walked towards the dining table.
Hua Rong, seeing Ye Wan still standing there, smiled, walked to the sofa, and took out her wallet. She pulled out a few hundred-yuan bills, walked over, and smilingly handed them to Ye Wan. "Thank you for your service. This is your tip."
Ye Wan immediately shook her head. "No, thank you."
Gu Yunting picked up his chopsticks and began to eat. Hua Rong smiled, took Ye Wan's hand, and placed the money in it. "Take it."
"Oh, what happened to your hand?" Hua Rong asked curiously, looking at Ye Wan's unsightly, plump little hands.
Ye Wan then noticed that her hands were frostbitten. She had been so preoccupied with the bone marrow issue lately that she hadn't paid attention to her hands' condition, nor even to eating or drinking. In the past, at the Gu residence, she was forced to wash clothes with cold water in winter, and her small hands were almost frostbitten. Later, as she grew older, it got a little better, but the old injury made her hands prone to frostbite. This year, she had developed chilblains again, and they looked quite unsightly. Ye Wan awkwardly withdrew her hand.
"It's... frostbite," Ye Wan explained softly.
"How can a girl's hands be like this? You need to buy some medicine to apply," Hua Rong said with a frown, instructing her.
Ye Wan nodded vaguely, lowering her head and remaining silent.
"Alright, you're not needed here anymore. You can go out now," Hua Rong said gently.
Ye Wan couldn't leave. Her gaze drifted to Gu Yunting, who was eating. She watched the man elegantly eat his dinner and wondered if her presence would disturb him and the beautiful woman. Would he get even angrier and be less willing to donate bone marrow to her brother?
She wrestled with her thoughts. Regardless of whether he was angry, she couldn't leave. If she left now, she didn't know if she'd be able to find him again.
"Come over and eat. Let her serve," Gu Yunting said coldly.
Hua Rong didn't object upon seeing this. She turned and walked to the dining table and sat down. Ye Wan automatically stood closer to the dining table, her gaze fixed on the exquisite food. She hadn't eaten much for the past few days, and now her stomach felt like it was burning. Yet, she wasn't hungry and didn't want to eat anything. The tension and anxiety had made her forget about hunger long ago.
