Chapter 88: Chapter 73: Infiltrating the Studio (Part 3)
John got the key.
He began searching the building.
He wasn’t sure how long the enemy would be unconscious, so he could only try to speed up and bypass most of the guards.
John headed straight for the filming area.
Female hostages were usually taken nearby.
He pushed open the door and saw a wider corridor and various decorated semi-open spaces.
The scenes included a classroom, a living room, a hovercar, a black clinic...
In the middle of the circular staircase was a large projection area connecting up and down.
The black metal ceiling was full of smart devices.
The high-wattage lights could simulate daylight, enabling real-time rendering of various outdoor scenes below.
John couldn’t avoid it.
Filming was taking place in the middle of the set.
The actors adjusted their actions according to the requirements.
John circled around to the watching lackey, subdued him, dragged him into the dark passageway to knock him out, and then hid him in a small compartment.
Just as he was about to leave, he caught sight of a crowbar and grabbed it.
Inside the scene.
A female actor paused as she arched her back, showing a confused look to the camera.
The director cursed in anger.
John walked out from the darkness in front of the actress, motioning for silence with his finger on his lips.
The bare-chested director gritted his teeth, picking up a whip to cover his intent.
But the next second...
Bang!
John knocked him out from behind.
He moved quickly, while those around hadn’t reacted, he swung his stick at the cameraman and others trying to stop him.
Suresh’s chip included street weapons, and he controlled it with precision.
These people only experienced "deep coma," and if they were rescued in time, their lives wouldn’t be lost.
The female stars of the erotic movie seemed slightly panicked.
They remained silent, not fleeing, and after putting on jackets, sat smoking on a bed piled with strange apparatuses.
"Doesn’t anyone want to leave?"
John hid the unconscious and asked before leaving.
The stars looked at him, waved their hands, eyes full of unspeakable emotions.
John scanned the room.
Courtney was not among them.
He wasn’t interested in inquiring about the other actors’ situations, so he headed straight for the management area at the deepest part of the studio.
The corridor was Japanese tatami.
The rooms were clean and tidy, clearly the residences of the top echelons.
The gang hierarchy in Owl Town was strict, the rulers hadn’t shown up, no one dared to venture easily, not even a patrolling guard was there.
John pulled open the innermost sliding door, seeing a young lady in formal attire staring at him in astonishment.
[Name: Courtney]
"Alright, found you, don’t be nervous, girl, Clafu sent me."
John stated his purpose, stepped forward to pull her up, ready to leave the building as fast as possible.
Courtney remained silent.
Her face flashed with confusion and surprise, showing a sense of familiarity upon hearing Clafu’s name, though her gaze quickly dimmed.
As John tried to take her out.
The girl reacted very resistively, stammering, unwilling to leave.
"Ha, listen."
John chuckled in frustration.
"I don’t care about your safety, but damn it, the Owl Town gang’s lackeys could rush in at any time, so... whatever your issues, come with me, now!"
John pulled out a revolver, pressing it to her head.
Courtney’s reluctance vanished in an instant, as if the threat was the "key" to activate her.
John suspected:
If he didn’t use forceful means, she would dawdle all the way.
He led Courtney through the corridor, just reaching the edge of the filming area, when sounds of shouting and killing erupted, startling all Owl Town gang lackeys in the building.
The way out was blocked.
"Shit!"
John, through the camera, even saw a team of fully armed Owl Town members rushing in from the street outside.
Footsteps thundered.
John cursed inwardly, but suddenly noticed:
Courtney’s artificial eye was flashing.
She seemed to be constantly transmitting information.
"WTF?"
He tightened his grip on the gun.
