Chapter 414: Chapter 404: The Best Teacher (Part 2)
"I’m not the one in trouble, it’s just that the principal said he wants to expel me and my classmate Liu Tong, even though we are the victims." Ye Qiu said, looking troubled and disheartened, "Liu Tong is a good kid. He was specially admitted; if he gets expelled, his whole life could be ruined."
Hearing Ye Qiu’s words, Xuanyuan Ce fixed his gaze on the plump principal.
Cold sweat dripped from the principal’s forehead as he stuttered, "Ye Qiu, as a teacher, actually participated in the students’ fight. He already violated the rules. As for Liu Tong, the special admission was because of his grades. Now that his grades have fallen, I certainly have reasons to expel him." As he spoke, the fat principal started to feel more justified.
Xuanyuan Ce, after listening to the plump principal, looked at Ye Qiu, seemingly without any intention of letting him and Liu Tong return to school.
Although he acknowledged that Xuanyuan Junrui had instigated the incident and agreed to a compensation, he also harbored the intent of teaching Ye Qiu and Liu Tong a lesson. After all, Xuanyuan Junrui is his only child, and he thought it sufficient to scold him himself; who gave any civilian the right to point fingers?
Ye Qiu sneered internally, grateful that he had never planned to trust Xuanyuan Ce. In his previous life, Xuanyuan Junrui and his companions had driven Liu Tong to his death without any consequences — he knew Xuanyuan Junrui’s parents certainly spoiled their child.
It was understandable, of course; who wouldn’t care about their own child? But if Xuanyuan Junrui is his child, doesn’t that make Liu Tong someone else’s child too?
Ye Qiu glanced at Liu Qin, the message was clear.
"Oh, A’Ce, since it was Xiao Rui who caused this mess, it doesn’t make sense to let Mr. Ye and this student suffer. Mr. Ye intervening in the students’ fight also shows he is a caring teacher. How can we fire such a good teacher? And as for this student, perhaps his academic decay is due to school bullying. Let’s give him another chance; if he still underperforms in the next monthly test, then we can consider expulsion. As adults, why hassle about this with a child?" Liu Qin earnestly persuaded.
Xuanyuan Ce frowned, seemingly not quite happy with Liu Qin deciding for him, but since she already spoke out, he had to preserve his wife’s honor, thus this issue was settled, and Ye Qiu and Liu Tong would still teach and study at school.
Sima Kai sneered silently and mocked Xuanyuan Junrui, who still had a stoic face; his parents were abroad, and the only person from his family that came to the police station was their chauffeur.
With Ye Qiu’s recorded proof and that all culprits were minors, although the incident created a huge stir, it was merely a formality at the police station. Ye Qiu had expected this outcome already, especially since the Xuanyuan and Sima families were local tycoons. He and Liu Tong had no background or Money and Power; what could they do? Alerting the police was just a delaying tactic.
However, Liu Tong received some financial compensation which made it worthwhile, but he could not keep suffering from bullying like this. One’s tolerance has its limits. Liu Tong could endure it now only because his mother needed money for her treatment.
Ye Qiu wasn’t without money, but Liu Tong wouldn’t borrow unless absolutely necessary. Therefore, the best he could do was to try and maintain his qualification to study at the Diou Royal Noble Academy. The academy had many flaws, but the strength of the teachers and the scholarships were plentiful enough to make it feasible for Liu Tong to succeed without external interference.
But now there is no need to hurry, once he acquired the school’s shares, Liu Tong wouldn’t have to worry about being expelled anymore.
"Mr. Liu, pleased to cooperate." Successfully signing off on the share transfer agreement, Ye Qiu shook hands with Liu Qin.
Dressed in a suit, Liu Qin looked competent but also charming as she sincerely smiled at Ye Qiu, "Mr. Ye, you are really overqualified for teaching, have you really not considered joining my company to develop software?"
"No, my heart is not in it." Ye Qiu shook his head.
Liu Qin sighed softly and no longer pursued the matter, displaying an easy-going demeanor: "In that case, I won’t say more. I hope we can collaborate again in the future."
"Of course, if Mr. Liu has any technical difficulties in the future, you are always welcome to seek my assistance."
"In that case, I won’t refuse. It would be an honor to have Mr. Ye’s help. It’s getting late, why don’t I host dinner today?"
Having brought the discussion to this point, for Ye Qiu to repeatedly decline would seem somewhat impolite, thus he gladly accepted.
