Zhang Yufei drove away from South Sea No.1 Middle School while simultaneously staying in contact with colleagues at the police station, retrieving surveillance footage from the route to East City Detention Center to investigate the morning’s hijacking, to see if any suspicious characters appeared.
The result was disappointing. All the surveillance footage along the way revealed nothing useful, except for a suspicious license plate captured by a camera at the police station entrance.
"Chen Tianlong, I think this license plate doesn’t belong to our South Sea City, and the moment our transport vehicle started, this car also began to move. It’s intriguing," Zhang Yufei suspected.
Gaining a small lead was better than having nothing.
Zhang Yufei immediately called Deputy Captain Zhou Qiang to ask if there were any new findings near the Hao Household.

"You really don’t know?" Zhou Qiang said playfully, surmising that no one would be foolish enough to abduct someone out of vendetta. Isn’t it better if they’re already in prison? What’s the need to abduct and then silence?
If silencing someone was the goal, doing it on the spot made more sense. Those people were armed; why abduct and then kill?
The only plausible explanation is they aimed to save someone, not to kill.
Due to Hao Shuai’s firm claim of ignorance and the lack of evidence, Zhou Qiang was at a loss.
He especially couldn’t make a scene, and could only leave a team of five to keep watch around the Hao household 24/7.

However, when they found the car on a street, it was empty. Reviewing nearby surveillance offered no clues.
Standing in place, unsure of what to do next, Zhang Yufei paced back and forth, pondering viable options.
She checked the time and realized it was already eleven in the morning, yet they had nothing.
