Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Mrs. Feng
"Mrs. Feng, they... they won’t let us in, and... and they were rough with us," Lin Wushuang cried out.
"What!"
Hearing this, Zhang Cuishan was momentarily stunned, but then quickly understood, his gaze sweeping over the nearby security guards, his eyes almost blazing with fury: "Alright! You even dare to throw out the people I invited, I see you guys have some nerve!"
A cold snort echoed like a thunderclap in the silent crowd, and at this moment, all the security guards and the receptionist turned ashen-faced, realizing that today’s incident had blown up.
"Wushuang, are you okay? Mrs. Feng will handle this, let’s go inside first," Mrs. Feng looked at Lin Wushuang, her eyes filled with concern.
She had practically watched Lin Wushuang grow up, knew her inside out, and genuinely liked this little girl, not allowing anyone to bully her.
"Thank you, Mrs. Feng!"
Lin Wushuang calmed down, sweetly smiled, and, holding Chen Tianlong, headed towards the Li Family Mansion.
As everyone left, all the security guards and the beautiful woman present leaned against the wall with vacant expressions. They understood that today’s incident had essentially destroyed their futures.
"Eh? Wushuang, you brought a driver?" After walking for a bit, Mrs. Feng suddenly remembered the handsome young man beside them.
"Ah? Haha, Mrs. Feng, he’s not a driver, he’s my... my good friend!" Lin Wushuang said, her face blushing slightly. Though he’s a good friend, he’s a guy, which naturally would make the elders suspicious, causing her cheeks to flush involuntarily.
"Hello, Auntie, I’m Chen Tianlong, Wushuang’s good friend and classmate," Chen Tianlong heard Lin Wushuang explaining and quickly chimed in.
"Classmate? Haha, nice to meet you, quite the handsome young man. Auntie likes you," Mrs. Feng glanced at Chen Tianlong, feeling a good first impression.
"Mrs. Feng, this is the person I mentioned over the phone who I invited to treat Mr. Li," Lin Wushuang smiled slightly and said to Feng Niang.
What?
Upon hearing this, Feng Niang almost bit her tongue.
This Chen Tianlong looked not more than twenty, about the same age as Lin Wushuang. Someone like that, and Lin Wushuang actually believed he could cure Mr. Li?
"Wushuang, aren’t you being a bit rash? Mrs. Feng doesn’t mean to offend this young man, but... but Mr. Li’s status is special, and if anything happens..."
Feng Niang evidently did not believe Chen Tianlong could cure Mr. Li. She had initially thought Lin Wushuang found some backstreet doctor, but didn’t expect her to bring in a young man.
"Mrs. Feng, don’t worry, Chen Tianlong will be just fine." However, Lin Wushuang just smiled at Feng Niang, clutching Chen Tianlong’s arm tightly, without letting go.
Seeing this, Feng Niang could only shake her head helplessly.
Led by Feng Niang, Chen Tianlong and Lin Wushuang soon arrived in the master bedroom, where an elderly, white-haired man lay on the bed, with a doctor and a middle-aged man standing beside him.
"Madam is back!"
The middle-aged man appeared to be in his fifties, but his movements were unusually agile, taking less than two seconds from speaking to coming over, startlingly fast.
"Hello, Mr. Zhang... Sir Li!"
As she entered, a hint of joy appeared on Lin Wushuang’s face, and she rushed over to the old man lying on the bed beside the window in the master bedroom.
The elder, hearing Lin Wushuang’s voice, turned around, his pale face breaking into a benevolent smile: "Wushuang, you’ve come, let Grandpa have a good look at you."
Lin Wushuang seemed very familiar with the elder, quickly making him laugh heartily. Meanwhile, Chen Tianlong stood still at the doorway, his gaze fixed on the elderly man.
"Sir Li, I’ve brought someone to see you today, perhaps he can cure your illness," Lin Wushuang went straight to the point after embracing the elder for a while.
"Oh?" Upon hearing this, Li Hongliang looked behind Lin Wushuang and saw a young man in his twenties watching him intently, his gaze so sharp that it sent a chill down his spine.
But just then, Chen Tianlong suddenly frowned and said, "Old man, your condition is very serious. Without timely treatment, there might be a life-threatening risk?"
"What?"
These words exploded like a bombshell in the previously calm master bedroom, stunning everyone into silence, then glaring at Chen Tianlong in anger.
"Young man, you can’t speak recklessly!" The butler, Zhang Cuishan, reacted the most. The doctor had just examined him and said he’d be walking in a few days, slowly recovering.
Not only Zhang Cuishan, but even Mr. Li on the bed glared at Chen Tianlong furiously.
"Oh, I’m just telling the truth," Chen Tianlong said calmly, here to help treat the illness, not minding their recognition.
Zhang Cuishan frowned; he had a decent impression of Chen Tianlong, but after hearing his words, Zhang Cuishan’s expression soured.
"Wushuang, who exactly is this young man?" The elder, amidst chatting with Lin Wushuang, suddenly cast a doubtful glance at Chen Tianlong and asked.
"Sir Li, he’s the one I invited to treat your illness," Lin Wushuang hadn’t expected Chen Tianlong to say something like that and suddenly froze, her face turning a bit awkward.
However, she was the only one who knew Chen Tianlong’s medical skill and immediately asked, "Chen Tianlong, is Sir Li’s condition not too optimistic?"
"Yes." Chen Tianlong nodded, obliged to respect the young lady.
"Young man, if you don’t understand, don’t speak carelessly, it comes with responsibilities," the doctor nearby protested, not convinced that this young guy knows any medical skills to be speaking out like this.
"Enough, young man, why don’t you explain how it’s not very optimistic?"
Mr. Li, however, waved his hand, signaling the doctor to step aside, and narrowed his eyes at Chen Tianlong: "Young man, why do you say that? Though I’m unwell, I feel like I’m recovering well, I might even get out of bed tomorrow."
"That’s just a final rally of your energy before dying."
Chen Tianlong sighed, speaking seriously: "Old man, your organs are nearly collapsed and atrophied, you feel alright because your organs are burning their final energy to support your body, as they say, a last resurgence before death."
Hearing Chen Tianlong’s words, several doctors in white coats near Mr. Li froze: "Young man, you can’t just speak carelessly. Sir Li’s organs are perfectly fine. There’s no way it’s a last resurgence before death?"
