Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Going to the Library Together
"Oh, canceled it, and... from now on, don’t call me ’Miss’, just call me Wushuang."
When Lin Wushuang heard Chen Tianlong say this, she felt a lot more distant. She didn’t like this feeling, even though she wasn’t particularly fond of Chen Tianlong.
"Alright, Wushuang, are you heading to the library too?"
"Is it strange for me to go to the library? That should be my question to you."
Lin Wushuang gave Chen Tianlong a sidelong glance. However, she was quite surprised to see him actually going to read books. Could it be that this guy is tired of flirting with girls in class and now he’s heading to the library to find new resources?
"Ah, I’m just a good kid who loves to learn!" Chen Tianlong grinned, and the two began to walk forward.
To avoid suspicion, Lin Wushuang walked ahead while Chen Tianlong made a quick stop at the restroom and smoked a cigarette.
He finished it off with a piece of gum to rid most of the smoke smell, then he leisurely made his way to the library upstairs with a book in hand.
The library had many classrooms, but whenever it was close to the monthly exams, especially for seniors, all the seats were taken.
Ten minutes later, Chen Tianlong entered a small classroom. This place was usually for the calligraphy club to practice, so it was quite small, and not many people came by.
Lin Wushuang was sitting in the last row, while in front of her, there were two pairs of couples sparsely scattered, pretending to read books but actually engaged in all sorts of playful antics, secretly doing mischievous things, though luckily, they weren’t making any noise.
Clearly, after sitting for a while, Lin Wushuang realized something was off; those people in front were not reading, but rather engaging in romance, even getting handsy, which made her cheeks flush red.
"Wushuang, I’m here."
Just then, Chen Tianlong had arrived next to her, and Lin Wushuang quickly took a deep breath to adjust her emotions, not wanting Chen Tianlong to see any clues.
But she kept blaming herself inside for choosing such a room to read; now everyone would think she and Chen Tianlong were a couple.
This wasn’t a study classroom; it was practically a place for couples to connect emotionally.
"Wushuang, would you like some gum? I bought it yesterday, still have two pieces left." Chen Tianlong said, then opened one to eat and handed the other to Lin Wushuang.
His casual action made Lin Wushuang misunderstand; was Chen Tianlong trying to do something with her, or had he been here with Lin Wushuang before, knowing it was a couple’s room and even brought gum?
"Uh... I don’t like sweets, afraid of cavities!"
Lin Wushuang suppressed her emotions and replied calmly.
"Oh, gum shouldn’t cause cavities, right? It’s healthy food. Come on, just have one, it’s no fun eating alone; Miss, give me some face."
Chen Tianlong felt something was off. Last time, she and her friends were having lollipops, but now she’s worried about cavities just over gum.
Taking a deep breath, Lin Wushuang grabbed the gum and hurriedly popped it into her mouth without daring to look at Chen Tianlong.
At this point, Chen Tianlong noticed something fishy, and upon looking around, quickly understood; Lin Wushuang must have seen these couples being affectionate, leading her to misunderstand.
However, this exact situation stirred Chen Tianlong’s mischievous streak.
A few minutes later, they started to open their books. Despite the classroom being small, the environment was quite nice with a fan. Chen Tianlong sat next to Lin Wushuang, and they were practically next to each other.
He unknowingly leaned closer, captivated by the faint fragrance from Lin Wushuang.
Suddenly, Lin Wushuang found an important information point and was about to tell Chen Tianlong. But as she turned her head, she realized his face was right before hers, continually sniffing.
Lin Wushuang blushed, not being foolish, realizing what Chen Tianlong was doing.
Yet their relationship was complicated, not a couple, but with some flirtatious undertones. If she got angry now, she’d definitely ruin her image in Chen Tianlong’s eyes.
She didn’t know when she started caring about a man’s opinion of her. So instead of immediately getting angry and yelling, she softly said, "Chen Tianlong, what are you doing?"
"So nice... Oh? Uh... just noticed your skin is so fair, wanted to see if it’s true. Heard lots of girls go for beauty treatments, but I’m not a fan!"
In all fairness, Chen Tianlong’s excuse was quite convincing.
Apparently, Lin Wushuang believed him completely, scrunching her nose and pouting, saying, "You’re the one going for beauty treatments, I’m naturally beautiful, alright? I wouldn’t do anything unnecessary like that."
"Haha, I figured, you’re definitely all-natural. Honestly, your skin is really nice, I just want to..."
"Want to do what?"
Feeling a bit shy, Lin Wushuang quickly interrupted Chen Tianlong, afraid he might say something inappropriate, leaving her unsure how to react.
"Want to... see more!"
Chen Tianlong, while wanting to tease Lin Wushuang, didn’t go overboard. Seeing her intentionally change the topic, he decided to leave it be.
Flipping open the book, Chen Tianlong marked the key points as Lin Wushuang advised and also copied her notes. In a blink, half an hour had passed.
Suddenly, a peculiar sound came through, making them lift their heads to see a couple ahead, kissing passionately.
Seeing this scene, Lin Wushuang’s face turned red like a tomato, quickly bowing her head to pretend to read. Yet, her heart was beating loudly.
She had observed carefully earlier, raising a question in her mind: why do they seem to enjoy it so much, is it really that wonderful?
Thinking this made Lin Wushuang feel a rush of warmth, mixed with a sense of anticipation.
To her surprise, the person in her thoughts was none other than Chen Tianlong.
What’s going on, is she cursed? Why is she having untoward thoughts about this guy? Lin Wushuang started to mutter internally.
Seeing Lin Wushuang’s flushed cheeks, Chen Tianlong frowned slightly, realizing this girl was having some wild thoughts.
So he leaned over gently and asked, "Hey, Wushuang, were you peeking at them being affectionate?"
"No way! You were the one peeking!"
Lin Wushuang denied it, staring at the draft paper pretending to be busy, yet it had two words written: "Kissing."
"Wow... look at that, revealing your thoughts through actions, aren’t you? Since you’re curious, I’ll grant you a wish, come on!"
Chen Tianlong decided to tease her, puckering his lips, waiting.
"Get lost, go play elsewhere... Chen Tianlong, do you have a death wish?"
Lin Wushuang gave him a glare, then went back to pretending to read.
