Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Job Done, Time to Go

"This slap is for last time."

"Smack..."

With those words, Chen Tianlong slapped Hao Jian on the other side of his face.

"And this slap is for today..." Chen Tianlong’s eyes showed fierce intent.

Zhou Qianghan, standing nearby and watching his brother Hao Jian being slapped by Chen Tianlong, was trembling with fear.

He originally thought he could teach Chen Tianlong a lesson today, but suddenly, Cheng Yaojin came out of nowhere, turning the situation around.

After finishing with Hao Jian, Chen Tianlong approached Zhou Qianghan, smiling coldly.

Zhou Qianghan saw Chen Tianlong’s malicious smile and turned pale with fright. Suddenly, Chen Tianlong raised his right hand, and Zhou Qianghan instinctively put his hands in front of his face, shouting, "Don’t hit my face!"

"Haha, I forgot, you live off your looks."

Chen Tianlong chuckled slyly and kicked him in the groin, watching Zhou Qianghan jump high in pain. Chen Tianlong turned to Yang Fan and said, "Alright, we’re done here, let’s head back."

Yang Fan nodded, though his face looked slightly pale, which even Chen Tianlong hadn’t noticed.

Chen Tianlong and Yang Fan quickly walked out of the private room just as two security guards arrived, giving them a suspicious glance before continuing forward.

They probably came up because they heard something upstairs and wanted to check the situation.

"We better hurry up, or we’ll be in trouble soon," Chen Tianlong smiled bitterly, and the two quickened their pace.

Sure enough, as soon as they left the hotel, they heard commotion inside, evidently discovering the situation in the room as the security guards were pressing the alarm.

"Phew... that was close!"

Driving away, Chen Tianlong took a deep breath, the previous confrontation still lingering in his mind. Hao Kan was truly formidable, and if it weren’t for Yang Fan showing his strength today, Chen might have met his end in that room.

He wondered about the Hao Family’s background, having ties with the Celestial Martial Sect, even inviting Ancient Martial Artists, which left Chen Tianlong a bit frustrated.

Suddenly, Chen Tianlong thought of Yang Fan, urgently turning back to ask what had happened earlier, only to find Yang Fan pale-faced.

Shocked, Chen Tianlong swiftly pulled over to the roadside, slamming on the brakes, the car jolting to a stop.

"Yang Fan, what’s wrong? What happened?"

Seeing Yang Fan’s frighteningly pale face, Chen Tianlong instinctively thought the earlier fight had injured him internally.

"No... nothing, I’ll be fine in a while."

Yang Fan suppressed a breath, trying to calm himself down. He had a secret, one that troubled him greatly. That’s why his father sent him to a school in another city, away from the martial world.

"Phew... that’s good."

Chen Tianlong breathed a sigh of relief, hearing Yang Fan say this, suggesting it wasn’t serious.

At this moment, three Audi cars drove up the road ahead, and sticking his head out was friend Tang Bing.

After leaving, Tang Bing realized the seriousness of the situation and rushed home to gather more than ten family elites, speeding to the scene, only to find Chen Tianlong and the others had already finished their task.

"Boss, are you guys alright?" Tang Bing leaped out of the car, running to Chen Tianlong’s window, showing his concern.

"We’re fine, it’s all over." Chen Tianlong, seeing Tang Bing’s worried expression, felt an indescribable warmth.

He never thought he’d have friends, let alone ones willing to genuinely support him.

Tang Bing was sincere, certainly a brother for life, and though Yang Fan wasn’t talkative, today’s performance showed he wasn’t perfect nor as intimidating as imagined.

From his performance earlier, it’s clear that although he’s powerful, he seems to have some physical deficiency.

Yet knowing he has a flaw, still dared to risk it to save him—this sentiment Chen Tianlong held dear.

"That’s good, we’ll head back then." Tang Bing, being straightforward, didn’t ask more once Chen Tianlong said everything was fine. It was late, and everyone turned their cars and sped back to school.

An uneventful night.

Days flew by without major events, with a curious calmness. Chen Tianlong surprisingly became a regular student, spending his time reading post-class in the library, and in the dormitory.

His behavior left roommates Zhao Lei and Yang Fan astonished, even wondering if Chen Tianlong had suffered a setback.

"Hey boss, did you and Mengting have a falling out?"

Zhao Lei, somewhat gossipy, couldn’t help but ask seeing Chen Tianlong’s unusual behavior.

"Get outta here, you’re the one in conflict! Mengting and I are doing great." Chen Tianlong rolled his eyes at Zhao Lei, responding irritably.

"Huh? Then why..."

"Damn, can’t I just read books?"

Chen Tianlong abruptly interrupted Zhao Lei, though soon realizing he was too harsh, his facial expression softened: "I want to score better, not bottom out, or Mengting will say I’m dragging you guys down."

"Oh, so that’s it. The power of love is truly strong!"

Zhao Lei sighed, saying, "Looks like I need to find a girlfriend, start a romance, and give myself some motivation too."

"..."

Chen Tianlong was speechless, though Zhao Lei’s words rang true. Once guys have motivation, anything becomes achievable.

Apparently, Yang Fan, sitting on the bed reading, also began to delve into deep thought. Ever since seeing Fang Xiaohui a couple of days ago, he couldn’t help but picture her sweet smile, quiet demeanor in his mind.

This guy had already fallen into the quagmire of love, yet remained unaware.

Meanwhile, Fang Xiaohui, trying to read in class, felt uncomfortable, easily distracted. Previously, she could focus on reading all day without issue.

But after meeting him, her heart harbored thoughts.

"Oh, could it really be love at first sight?"

Fang Xiaohui mused wildly, unable to continue reading, feeling a bit anxious. It frustrated her as she was in her senior year, needing to study hard for college.

"Xiaohui, what’s on your mind? You seem distracted."

Desk-mate Li Tianqing had been watching Fang Xiaohui for a while, noticing her unfocused eyes, not turning a page for half an hour. The key thing was, heck, the book was upside down, and yet she remained oblivious.

"Huh? Oh... just reading." Caught red-handed, Fang Xiaohui hurriedly explained.

"Oh, reading? Just look, you’re reading your book upside down, impressive!"

Li Tianqing gave her a thumbs up, praising.

"..." Fang Xiaohui felt embarrassed, clearly exposed.

"Oh dear, poor thing. I’ve been there; your expression tells me you fancy Yang Fan, right?"

It was already ten o’clock, the classroom mostly empty, so Li Tianqing dropped her voice a bit, speaking to Fang Xiaohui beside her.
