It was Gray, the one responsible for driving Ultear’s mother to her death, that she could never forgive. That was her ultimate reason for wanting to kill Gray.

If either she or Meredy died, Gray would also die. For Ultear, Meredy was willing to die without hesitation. Meredy attempted to take her own life.

Juvia was stunned and stopped Meredy by inflicting harm upon herself. Besides death, there was another path for the three of them: to live together. Meredy summoned another magical blade, but Juvia shattered it with a torrent of water.

Juvia embraced Meredy tightly, their linked feelings flowing between them. This was something that shouldn’t have happened, yet their profound bond transcended the boundaries of magic. In that moment, Meredy felt Juvia’s sorrow, and a similar wave of sadness washed over her.

"You also have a smile!" Juvia cried out, her voice filled with emotion. "You also have people you cherish!"

Meredy stared at Juvia, her expression a mixture of surprise and dawning understanding.

"Juvia will live on... for the one she loves!" Juvia’s voice trembled with emotion. She met Meredy’s gaze directly. "And you too! If you have love, you must fight to live!"

"Love..." The word resonated deeply within Meredy’s heart. "This feeling..."

Unbeknownst to them, tears welled up in Meredy’s eyes. The link of feelings between the three of them had vanished, their bodies drained of strength. Meredy and Juvia collapsed to the ground together.

"Tears of love and life... I can no longer fight you," Meredy whispered, her voice weak but resolute.

With those words, Meredy, one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, lost her will to fight.

Mirajane rushed to their aid, helping them to their feet and providing makeshift bandages. Even Meredy received treatment. During the battle, Mirajane had come to understand Meredy’s motivations and emotions, recognizing her as a lost child who had simply taken a wrong turn in life.

High above Tenrou Island, within the confines of Grimoire Heart’s magic airship, Hades, his body heavily bandaged, violently overturned the table before him in a fit of rage.

Through the Eye of the Demon, Hades could clearly observe the unfolding events on Tenrou Island.

"Ultear’s defected, and it looks like Meredy’s about to follow suit. Zancrow and Rustyrose fell to that brat Finn," he muttered, his voice laced with disbelief and fury.

"Capricorn has been defeated!"

Hades continued to mutter to himself, his body trembling with barely controlled rage.

"My meticulously trained Seven Kin of Purgatory, defeated by the children raised by that insignificant Makarov! Damn it!" he roared, his voice filled with seething anger.

The Grimoire Heart member attending to Hades stood by, trembling slightly, afraid to utter a single word.

After a long period of venting his frustration, Hades finally composed himself, settling back onto his throne.

"Azuma," he commanded, his voice cold and menacing. "Destroy the Tenrou Tree immediately! Once those Fairy Tail fools lose the protection of the Tenrou Tree, they stand no chance against Grimoire Heart."

"Especially that brat Finn!" Hades’ face twisted into a grotesque grimace at the mere mention of Finn’s name. "Once the Tenrou Tree is felled, I will personally claim your life!"

On Tenrou Island, Mest held a communication magic crystal in his hand, watching Natsu and the others depart with a heavy heart. Earlier, he had reunited with the surviving members of the Council. From Rahal, the leader of this operation, he had received some devastating news.

Due to the destruction of their magical warship by Grimoire Heart, their original plan had been forced to be abandoned. However, Rahal was obligated to report the current situation on Tenrou Island to the Council. Grimoire Heart’s entire force, along with the infamous Black Mage, Zeref, were all present on the island—a rare opportunity that the Council might exploit to their advantage.

The Council might decide to deploy their ultimate weapon: Magic Spirit Force.

Mest fell silent, his mind racing as he considered the implications of such a decision. The events of the past few days, his encounters with the members of Fairy Tail, and the image of the blue-haired girl, all echoed vividly in his mind.

Finally, he made a decision: he took Rahal’s communication crystal. He would buy time, using his teleportation magic to help all the Fairy Tail members escape.

However, Natsu, Gray, and the others rejected his proposal.

"This is our guild’s sacred ground. We won’t leave. We’ll defeat all of them first!" Gray declared, his voice firm and unwavering.

"But even Makarov lost! Most of you are severely injured!" Mest exclaimed, his voice laced with agitation.

"We still have Finn!" Wendy shouted back, her voice filled with unwavering faith.

"Even he can’t solve everything!" Mest retorted, his voice rising in desperation.

"Listen, Finn can do it. And if not, we have Fairy Tail to back him up!"

Natsu stepped forward, stopping just inches from Mest’s face, his gaze unwavering and intense.

"That’s right. If you drop Magic Spirit Force on this island, we won’t let you get away with it!" Lucy declared, her voice filled with determination.

"We’ve always protected our guild like this," Happy added, raising his tiny paw in solidarity.

"Are you threatening the Council?" Mest’s voice was sharp with anger.

Natsu grabbed Mest by the collar, their foreheads nearly touching. Mest could feel the throbbing of Natsu’s temples.

"I don’t care if it’s Grimoire Heart or the Council; I’m not afraid!" Natsu growled, his voice low and menacing.

"Anyone who dares to attack our guild is our enemy! Fairy Tail will annihilate them all!"

The unwavering determination in Natsu’s voice was so powerful that it even managed to inspire a flicker of belief within Mest.

"In any case, we’ll handle the situation on the island. Please, Mr. Mest, you must stop them from attacking this island, or at least buy us some time. Please," Wendy pleaded, her voice laced with urgency.

Mest let out a long, weary sigh. He knew he couldn’t stop these incredibly determined individuals.

"Then how do you plan to overcome the dangers you face?" he asked, his voice heavy with concern.

"With all our might! That’s the only way!" The determined words echoed through the rain as Natsu and the others continued their journey.

————

The rain intensified, as if being forcefully pulled down from the heavens. A figure emerged from the downpour, blocking Natsu and his companions’ path.

The rain around the figure was incredibly heavy, several times denser than the surrounding area. As the figure approached, a palpable sense of immense magical power began to permeate the air.

"Who the hell are you?!" Natsu shouted, his voice ringing out through the torrential rain.

"Can you fly?" The figure responded, ignoring Natsu’s question, its voice devoid of any emotion.

The figure’s emotionless eyes scanned the group, before shaking its head slowly.

"It seems that brat Finn isn’t here. Therefore... you should be unable to fly," the figure stated, its tone chillingly calm.

With those words, the figure raised both hands, its fingers spreading wide.

Instantly, the torrential rain that had been pouring down around them seemed to freeze in mid-air, suspended as if by an invisible force.
