Chapter 169: Chapter 0169: Cutting Off Han Tie’s Head_1
Under the tense gaze of countless onlookers, Han Tie charged toward Zhang Bin like a madman, emanating an aura of total annihilation.
Zhang Bin, however, made no move, as if frozen in fear.
Damn it, Zhang Kai was just bluffing. He’s doomed. Zhao Dawei and the other members of the Special Action Team sighed internally, already picturing the ghastly image of Zhang Bin lying in a pool of his own blood.
Meanwhile, victorious smiles spread across the faces of the Iron Sword Sect disciples. They were one hundred percent confident that their Sect Leader could kill Zhang Bin with a single thrust of his sword. Han Tie’s speed was simply too fast for the naked eye to follow.
In truth, a Late-stage Liquefaction Realm Cultivator could move at up to 160 meters per second, and their sword strikes could reach a rate of fifty per second. Killing someone required only a fleeting instant.
Just as Han Tie was about to reach him, Zhang Bin finally moved. A cold smile touched his lips as he slapped the Sword Box with his left hand. "Go!"
WHOOSH!
A beam of white light shot out from the Sword Box. It was as fast as a lightning strike, carrying a boundless killing intent as it flew toward Han Tie.
"A Flying Sword!"
Han Tie was so terrified his soul felt like it was scattering, and his heart stopped beating.
"Gods, a Flying Sword!" Luo Chengliang leaped to his feet in shock, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.
"Holy crap, a Flying Sword?" Zhao Dawei, Qian Bing, and Sun Tie had all witnessed Master Tianlong’s terrifying use of Sword Control before. They recognized it instantly and were utterly dumbfounded.
"No, that looks like the legendary Flying Sword!" Horror dawned on the faces of the Iron Sword Sect disciples.
It was no wonder they were so shocked and frightened. After all, a Flying Sword was a Magical Treasure that, in ancient times, could only be forged by Nascent Soul Stage Cultivators. They were incredibly sharp and frighteningly fast. Only Cultivators at the Golden Core Realm could use them to kill enemies from a distance. A single strike was fatal, and anyone below the Golden Core Realm had absolutely no way to defend against it.
Could it be that this youth, who looked so young, was already a Golden Core Stage Cultivator? Otherwise, how could he possibly be using a Flying Sword?
"Ahhh!"
Sensing the thick stench of death, Han Tie let out a soul-shaking roar. He desperately swung his sword, attempting to intercept the death-dealing Flying Sword. He seemed to block it, yet he felt no impact.
No, that was just an afterimage! I’m doomed! Han Tie screamed in his mind. A sharp pain suddenly shot through his neck, and he felt himself flying.
Then, he saw a headless body spurting blood while still holding a sword. Both the body and the sword were disturbingly familiar. He then realized it was his own body. His head had been severed by the Flying Sword and sent soaring into the air, which was why he could see such a scene.
In that moment, his heart filled with venomous rage. He struggled to speak, but no words came out. His head thudded to the ground and rolled several times.
As for everyone else, they had only seen a flash of white light seem to circle Han Tie’s neck. Then, his head fell, and a fountain of blood shot skyward.
THUMP.
The headless body could no longer stay upright and collapsed into a pool of blood. The Flying Sword had already returned to Zhang Bin’s Sword Box as a streak of white light.
The entire area fell silent; you could hear a pin drop.
The members of the Special Action Team stood like statues, utterly speechless. The disciples of the Iron Sword Sect stared in horror at the two corpses on the ground, equally afraid to speak.
Those were the two strongest experts of their sect. One had cultivated to the Mid Stage of Qi Sea Realm, and the other to the Liquid Transformation Late Stage. They had roamed the world unopposed for many years, but today, they had both become corpses, effortlessly slaughtered by this young-looking boy.
Zhang Bin retched once again, spitting out bitter bile. It was a long while before he recovered. He pulled the sword from his chest, tossed it onto the bodies of the Han father and son, and said coldly, "Kill a disciple of my Supreme Pure Gate and steal his Jade Scroll Simple? This is the consequence!"
The crowd finally snapped out of their shock. One of the Iron Sword Sect disciples shouted angrily, "Zhang Kai, do you have any proof? You kill people without any evidence? You won’t escape justice!"
"You demon! Do you really think you can do whatever you want?" another disciple bellowed.
The rest of the disciples were also incensed, shouting and yelling. However, not a single one of them dared to charge forward. Zhang Bin’s Flying Sword was simply too terrifying; how could their necks possibly withstand it?
"Evidence? I’ll show you evidence. My Supreme Pure Gate is never unreasonable," Zhang Bin said, striding forward.
Everyone naturally followed him.
Soon, they reached the cliff. Zhang Bin stopped and pointed to what looked like an ordinary stone. "He hid the Jade Scroll Simple he stole from my junior brother inside this stone and came here to comprehend it every day. I imagine you’ve seen him."
Many of the Iron Sword Sect disciples grew nervous. They had indeed often seen Han Tie sitting here in meditation, but they had no idea if he was studying a Jade Scroll Simple.
"I’ll open it," Luo Chengliang declared, stepping forward. "Watch closely. I’m not holding any Jade Scroll Simple."
He even took off his shirt, revealing a muscular physique. He raised his hands and turned around slowly to show they were empty. Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, he placed his hand on the stone and released his True Qi. He quickly located the mechanism and easily lifted the stone away.
All eyes shot toward the opening. Inside, there was indeed a Jade Scroll Simple.
The faces of the Iron Sword Sect disciples changed dramatically, their anger instantly dissipating.
"This is the Jade Scroll Simple of our Supreme Pure Gate. It’s protected by a wondrous formation that we can sense with a special method," Zhang Bin said. "Now, what else do you have to say?"
"But, this might not be from your Supreme Pure Gate! Perhaps our Sect Leader found it somewhere. Or maybe this isn’t your Jade Scroll Simple at all?" one disciple said, clinging to a sliver of hope.
"You can send a representative to read this Jade Scroll Simple. The content is..." Zhang Bin briefly described the contents. He wasn’t afraid of the Secret Technique leaking; after all, no one could memorize such a complex Cultivation Method and its contents in an instant.
However, the Iron Sword Sect disciples recoiled as if they had seen a viper, backing away and not daring to read it. They were afraid of being silenced by Zhang Bin afterward. The Cultivation Method of any sect could never be shared with outsiders.
"Then let’s have Zhao Dawei read it. Let him determine whether or not this is the Jade Scroll Simple of my Supreme Pure Gate," Zhang Bin proposed. "He is the captain of the Special Action Team. He represents the nation and justice. He will surely not wrongly accuse your Sect Leader, nor will he wrongly accuse me. What do you say?"
This was essentially a small gift for Zhao Dawei. If he was smart, he could focus on reading the section about cultivating to the Golden Core Realm and perhaps memorize a few secrets.
The Iron Sword Sect disciples agreed.
Zhao Dawei boldly stepped forward and read the scroll. Afterward, he confirmed that it was, indeed, the Jade Scroll Simple of the Supreme Pure Gate.
The faces of the Iron Sword Sect disciples instantly turned ashen.
Zhang Bin’s presence seemed to swell. "I have already killed two people and don’t wish to kill any more," he declared. "How about we discuss compensation now?"
