Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Shopping from Head to Toe
She and Elias Lancaster did not have feelings for each other. That night, it was her own carelessness, falling into her mom’s trap.
Now, she is pregnant, and Elias brought her here to live also for the child’s security.
He said he would drive her to and from school, also because of the child.
For the child, he has treated her well, letting her live in his house and hired a nutritionist.
The old lady just said that descendants are difficult, and this morning Theodore Lynch mentioned this too, so when Elias said he had no heirs that night, it seems he wasn’t lying to her.
In this way, the two children in her belly had become really important for their family!
Possibly, they could be his only two children in this lifetime.
And because of these precious children, she could stay in such a good environment and enjoy preferential treatment.
Elias stated he would be responsible.
In this sense.
He should treat the two children very well.
But in that case, she must give birth to these two children.
She lowered her head without speaking.
Mrs. Lancaster looked at her pretending to be strong and sighed, "Are you afraid of me?
Serena, you can be reassured, in critical moments, you will always be put ahead of the two children."
Mrs. Lancaster said this, wanting her to know she isn’t just a tool for childbirth, everything starts with prioritizing her!
For the first time since childhood, Serena Yeats felt warmth and tears uncontrollably emerged.
She really wanted to say she hadn’t considered yet whether to keep the children, but she couldn’t say it, after all, they are her flesh and blood.
After a while, she finally uttered a simple "Okay."
She discovered that the old lady was different from what she thought, she was an easy-going person, much easier to get along with than Elias Lancaster.
Speaking of Elias, she didn’t dare to look at him, always feeling he seemed unhappy lately, his brows furrowed without speaking.
Mrs. Lancaster saw her relaxed and felt pleased internally, "Serena, come, let me take you to purchase some things."
Serena Yeats shook her head quickly, "Old lady, no need, I lack nothing here, everything is available, no need to buy."
Elias Lancaster had prepared everything thoroughly, the best of everything, she lacked nothing.
Living here, she found no dissatisfaction.
She even feared after becoming used to such days, what to do in future.
Mrs. Lancaster however didn’t heed, "I’ll take you to buy clothes."
With that, she got up wanting to pull Serena Yeats along outside.
Serena Yeats immediately said, "Old lady, don’t spend money unnecessarily; I’m fine this way."
Mrs. Lancaster looked at her faded and worn-out clothes and felt a heartache, this child, how can this be fine?
She had just heard from Elias that all the clothes she brought were like this, didn’t know how long they had been worn.
Still saying it’s fine?
Both were thus tugging back and forth.
Elias Lancaster slowly got up, walked forward, looking at Serena Yeats, "Serena, let’s go out for a walk."
After speaking, he held Serena Yeats’ hand, heading outside.
Mrs. Lancaster watched her son’s rare display of affection as he held a girl’s hand, obviously happy, followed behind them.
In the car.
Mrs. Lancaster noticed her tension and continuously chatted with her, trying to ease her tension and make her relax.
Upon reaching the mall, Serena Yeats looking at the tall building, didn’t even have the courage to walk in.
She heard from classmates that in such high-end malls, the items inside cost at least in the hundreds, even tens of thousands range.
Serena Yeats internally resisted stepping into such a place, she felt uneasy,.
She wasn’t suited for here.
Mrs. Lancaster noticed the person beside her stop moving, turned around to see her unease and resistance.
"Serena, what’s wrong?" she asked, "Nothing here, this is a mall, anyone can enter, don’t think those things."
She knew Serena felt inferior, lacking self-confidence, also aware it was because of her growing environment and experience since childhood.
But overcoming inferiority and lack of self-confidence is possible, slowly it will improve.
Serena Yeats told herself, this is just a mall, it’s fine, once she can earn money she can come here herself.
There was a struggle internally.
She smiled at Mrs. Lancaster, "Old lady, I’m fine."
"That’s right." Mrs. Lancaster happily led her inside.
After an hour, they hadn’t picked out any clothes.
Mrs. Lancaster understood what was going on, this child was reluctant to buy.
Elias Lancaster also discerned her thoughts, came to Serena Yeats, stared into her eyes, trying to soften his voice, "Serena, didn’t find anything you like? Shall I help you choose?"
Serena Yeats paused.
She glanced at the clothes, any piece here cost over ten thousand, too expensive.
She felt it unnecessary to buy these, she had clothes to wear.
Although not comparable here.
The next second.
"Serena, let me help you choose." A man’s deep voice echoed.
"Ah?"
Serena Yeats instinctively looked at Elias Lancaster, eyes met.
Elias Lancaster kept looking at her, she suspected if there wasn’t any selection Elias would empty the store.
Thinking it through, Serena Yeats compromised, "I’ll choose myself."
"Alright, see which you like? Pick them and they’ll send them home." Elias Lancaster looked at her, seemingly startled by him, his tone tried to be gentle.
Things became smoother afterwards.
Serena Yeats would state liking an outfit on seeing it, Mrs. Lancaster finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The manager also breathed a sigh of relief.
After selecting several outfits, Serena Yeats said to Mrs. Lancaster, "Old lady, it’s enough, I can’t wear so many."
Serena Yeats secretly glanced at the man sitting on the sofa, and the man noticed looking back as well.
Mrs. Lancaster thought about the future, no longer insisted, "Alright, let’s buy these today then."
Serena Yeats sighed in relief, thinking it’s time to check out, but unexpectedly, the manager led them to another area...
So.
In two hours.
Mrs. Lancaster and Elias Lancaster took her, buying from head to toe.
Serena Yeats sighed in relief, thinking it’s over and time to go home.
But surprisingly, they took her upstairs.
Serena Yeats was startled, what else to buy?
"Old lady, aren’t we going back home?"
Mrs. Lancaster smiled and said, "No rush, let’s buy some other things, just in time for dinner once we go back."
When they stood before the electronic product counter.
Serena Yeats almost cried, "Old lady, my phone still works."
"Switch to one capable of video calls, that way when I miss you I can video call." Mrs. Lancaster spoke softly.
Just as she contemplated how to refuse the old lady’s kindness.
She heard the man’s voice, "Take two here."
She instinctively turned to look at Elias Lancaster.
He picked one white and one black, the phone models looked good, his taste really was excellent.
Two units?
