Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Counterattack Successful
Serena Yeats gave a forced smile, "It’s okay, just a little matter to address."
Soon, Secretary Hughes came in, "Madam, VP Quinn."
Putting Selene Quincy at the back when greeting.
Serena Yeats smiled even more happily.
Selene Quincy’s smile froze on her face.
Serena Yeats laughed and asked, "When will Elias finish the meeting?"
She really didn’t want to see this woman anymore.
Secretary Hughes glanced at the time, "The meeting will end in ten minutes."
Serena Yeats envisioned that Selene Quincy had just taken off her coat and placed it nicely, evidently knowing Elias would be back soon.
"You can get busy now." As soon as she said that, Secretary Hughes turned to glance at Selene Quincy, then took another look at Serena Yeats.
Serena Yeats signaled with her eyes for her to relax.
It was only then that she left with peace of mind.
The office was once again left with only Serena Yeats and Selene Quincy.
Neither of them spoke again, one sitting on the sofa, the other at Elias Lancaster’s desk drawing on the sketchpad.
A few minutes later, Elias Lancaster pushed the door open, Quentin Shaw following behind him.
Upon entering, both noticed the two women sitting separately, but the atmosphere seemed tense.
Quentin Shaw paused for a moment, lowered his voice, "President Lancaster, perhaps someone from the secretary department unknowingly brought them into the office."
Elias Lancaster naturally knew Selene Quincy was coming today, but he hadn’t expected she would appear in his office, and that his sweetheart would be there too.
They were in the same room.
Selene Quincy was quite cunning; he wondered if she had bullied his sweetheart.
Instantly, a trace of cold flashed in his eyes.
As soon as Selene Quincy saw Elias Lancaster, the sweet smile on her face became dazzling, "Elias, you’re back."
The words seemed to flaunt their unusual relationship in front of Serena Yeats.
Serena Yeats said nothing, just glanced at Elias Lancaster.
Elias Lancaster greeted without emotion, "VP Quinn."
He didn’t even give her a glance, stepping directly toward Serena Yeats.
Selene Quincy’s smile deepened, "Elias, I brought the cooperation I mentioned last time."
Elias Lancaster reached Serena Yeats’s side, took her hand, "Quentin, take VP Quinn to the meeting room."
Quentin sensed his boss’s foul mood, immediately said, "Alright, VP Quinn, please."
Since Elias Lancaster had spoken, should Selene Quincy not leave, it would surely end worse.
Her expression changed, "Then... I’ll wait for you there."
Elias Lancaster didn’t pay any attention to her.
Quentin Shaw ushered her out, and the air in the office instantly felt refreshing.
Elias Lancaster lifted the person from the chair and set her on his lap, "When did you get back?"
Serena Yeats was in a bad mood, but she knew it had nothing to do with Elias Lancaster, couldn’t take it out on him.
"Just got back not long ago."
Elias Lancaster tenderly kissed her cheek, asking softly, "Did she bully you?"
Serena Yeats recalled the clash moments ago, probably bullied, right?
However, she fought back, she didn’t exactly gain the upper hand.
But...
It felt like she was bullied,
as she’s been evading some matters, repeatedly revealed by her.
Her counter was seemingly without harm to that woman.
She thought for a moment, still said, "She said unpleasant things."
She bit her lip, "But, I fought back."
Elias Lancaster looked at her clear eyes, chuckled lightly, "Very good, remember in the future if someone bullies you, fight back, if not, call your husband."
After speaking, he kissed her lips lightly.
Serena Yeats got up from his lap, tugged at him, "Go make your business talks, earning is more important for buying formula."
Elias Lancaster earnestly said while gazing into her eyes, "Nothing is more important than you."
This sentence felt very satisfying to Serena Yeats.
She realized how important she was in his heart.
Instantly, childhood neighbor interactions became irrelevant.
Just someone unimportant.
The crucial point was Elias Lancaster’s heart held her.
Besides, if Elias truly had something with her, it would’ve happened long ago.
To sum it up, Selene Quincy wasn’t important, not necessary to dwell on it.
Serena Yeats currently worried that Elias Lancaster’s affection wouldn’t last long; given his excellence and ability, he might change hearts anytime.
But she didn’t know that Elias Lancaster also worried, due to age difference, she might grow fond of younger ones, someone else.
After all, she’s still young, with many temptations outside, once exposed, some matters are indefensible.
His current priority was to keep his beloved tightly under watch, not giving others any chances.
Serena Yeats’s face beamed with a blissful smile, "I know, go focus on earning from cooperation."
Elias Lancaster suddenly pulled her over, kissed her persistent little mouth.
Only when she was short of breath did he release her.
"Wait for me to come back."
Serena Yeats nodded while catching her breath, displaying a well-behaved appearance, provoking a teasing impulse.
Elias Lancaster didn’t want to discuss cooperation now, only wanted to pull her into the lounge and tease her hard!
He took a deep breath, gently kissed her lips, and walked out of the office.
Serena Yeats looked at the empty office, her gaze swept towards the suit jacket on the sofa armrest.
Thinking back, Selene Quincy had draped that coat.
Stared at it intently for quite a while.
She suddenly got up, walked toward the sofa, picked up the clothes, already smelling a scent of perfume.
No need to say, obviously left by Selene Quincy, Elias Lancaster’s scent certainly wasn’t this.
This perfume smell was very unpleasant.
Then looking at the sofa, suddenly felt like it was just unsightly.
She turned on the ventilation system.
Moments later.
She could still smell that perfume, overnight, her little face lost its smile.
Suddenly felt the air was inexplicably dirty.
She picked up the suit jacket and walked toward the lounge.
Putting the coat into the washbasin and scrubbing.
Ten minutes later, she smelled the jacket in her hand, feeling the scent still lingered, resolutely threw the clothes into the trash can.
Upon emerging from the lounge again, just glancing at the sofa, felt uncomfortable.
How come she felt so strange, never like this before.
Serena Yeats didn’t understand, racking her brain, simply sat at Elias Manchester’s desk continuing to draw on the sketchpad.
To divert her attention.
In the meeting room, it wasn’t just Elias Lancaster and Selene Quincy.
There were teams from both sides.
Selene Quincy wasn’t alone.
But she herself went to Elias Manchester’s office, her attendees all awaited in the meeting room.
Half an hour later.
Elias Lancaster hadn’t decided to cooperate, rather it’s pending.
Also half an hour left till closing time.
"Let’s stick to this for now."
After saying, Elias Lancaster aimed to head out.
Selene Quincy reached out, suddenly grabbed him, "Elias, it’s almost off-duty, let’s eat together, just at that noodle shop from our childhood."
