Crossover Log: Beatrix
Beatrix Kirone Xagna.
The existence behind the paradox I'm currently involved in.
A cheerful, almost whimsical presence—except when she isn't.
She's the kind of person who'll grin at you one second, then, without so much as a change in expression, pull off some ridiculous, mind-blowing stunt the next. It's both impressive and terrifying.
Like Artemisia, Beatrix hails from Aidos, and considering who her mother is, she was never meant to be anything close to ordinary.
Being the daughter of the 'Supreme' god Queen herself, she was basically born into power. Aidosians already have an absurdly high starting point, but she took that privilege and ran with it.
Now, as for why she's here on Aramis, it all boils down to a very simple reason—Alvey.
Yes, she crossed worlds, entered a demon-infested warzone, and got tangled up in all kinds of insanity… all because she fell for a guy.
Some people would call that reckless. Others would call it romantic. Personally? I call it a headache waiting to happen.
Especially since that headache doesn't stop in the present—it extends into the future.
I even got caught up in it, despite having zero idea that one of my next incarnations would end up going back in time and meeting her as a teenager.
Moving on, let's talk about her titles, connections, and the Jamie factor.
As a god Queen's daughter, she's in a high position on default. That status alone grants her an extensive network of connections, and thanks to Jamie, she's one of the very few gods that demons dial down their antagonism toward.
Just a little bit.
And Jamie, being Jamie, naturally treats Beatrix like some fun little niece he can occasionally mess with.
I don't know what's more bizarre—the fact that a Supreme Demon King treats the daughter of a god Queen like family or the fact that Beatrix just casually accepts this as normal.
But then again, 'normal' is a concept that doesn't really apply when it comes to this group.
Yes, I said it.
We're all abnormal, and we all know it.
Anyway, on to the personality aspect, the best way to describe Beatrix is 'playful but focused.'
She is very, very emotive. She acts like a typical teenager—and even the future her that my past incarnation knew wasn't much different.
But when it's time to lock in, oh, she definitely locks in.
In fact, if you ever find yourself in a situation where Beatrix has to put aside her playfulness and lock in, you should probably be terrified.
Now, it's impossible to talk about Beatrix without mentioning her attachment to Artemisia. The two of them have been together since childhood, and they trust each other more than most people trust themselves.
Like I said in Artemisia's log, if Beatrix is the loud and expressive one, Artemisia is the quiet and calculated one—but they complement each other perfectly.
Then there's Alvey.
She doesn't even bother hiding her feelings for him—at least, not from the people she actually trusts or cares about.
Beatrix wants what she wants, and she makes that very clear.
And judging by what I know about the future, she definitely gets what she wants.
Which brings me to my next point—Ginaroad Sargon.
Beatrix's feelings for Alvey eventually bear fruit. A "fruit" that's called Ginaroad Sargon.
And that fruit is the one responsible for 50% of my future problems.
The other 50%? That comes from Beatrix and Artemisia themselves.
I mean, future Artemisia wanting me to kill future Beatrix's kid is already questionable enough, but what I really want to know is…
What the hell happened to these two while I was out there reincarnating on other worlds?!
I'm honestly more curious about that than I am about the fact that Beatrix was the one who sent me back in time.
Because, let's be real, we all knew it was her the moment it happened.
Yes, you too, Reader.
I mean, I kinda figured it out on my first day here on Aramis, but I wanted more 'evidence.' Or, in plain terms, I was ignoring reality.
But honestly, it all sounded like some convoluted plot.
If she really wanted to get rid of me because I was fucking up the Demonic Hand's plans to get Gozon an express pass to invading Aidos, why go through all this roundabout nonsense of sending me back in time?
That was a question that nagged at me for a long time—until I recovered my past incarnation's memories.
I didn't even need to open my "Prisma" book to find the answer. That Rebellion preview of mine was enough for me to figure it out.
And it was kinda obvious.
She did it because she had NO CHOICE but to do so.
I had to be in her past for certain things to happen, even if it came with the risk of her dying at my hands once I figured out she was the one behind Ginaroad, who was behind Gozon's invasion of future Aidos.
And yet, she still took that gamble.
Why? Because she was pretty damn confident I wouldn't kill her. Probably because Jamie would be around.
Very calculating of you, Beatrix.
But then again, I didn't expect her not to have that side to her. This is the same girl who eventually ends up heading one of the most powerful factions in the entire universe, after all.
I really need to have a talk with future Beatrix and Artemisia.
Both of them.
And find out just what in the hell happened.
Now then, I'm approaching my word limit, so let's move on to how I see her relationships with the rest of the group.
For Alvey, we already covered this. She's head over heels for the guy, and she doesn't try to hide it. And considering their future, she had every reason to be confident.
Artemisia's her best friend and greatest support. If there's one person Beatrix will always trust unconditionally, it's Artemisia.
Of course, it seems that unconditional trust has an expiration date somewhere between Year 6045 of the 50th G.C. and Year 45 of the 51st G.C.
Moving on, there's Jamie, the wacky uncle she never asked for but somehow ended up with. She doesn't question it, though, because, well, it's Jamie.
She gets along decently with McEnda III, but there's no deep bond there, just occasional banter. Honestly, the only reason she bothered befriending the guy is because he's Alvey's best friend, and, well… we all know how she feels about Alvey.
Lastly, there's Arthur, one of the few people who actually scares her, even though she hides it beyond her playful front.
They're close to a certain extent, but that underlying fear would forever exist as long as Arthur's the Progenitor godslayer so there's nothing that can be done about that.
As for her powers, she's got the default Space-Time starter kit courtesy of her mum. Then, she has her extra add-ons in the form of her Unique Skills.
From what I know of them thanks to my past incarnation, she can pull off things that make physics professors question reality.
Now, my final thoughts
What does the future hold for Beatrix?
If I pretended I didn't already know, I'd say that she's going to be a key player in whatever grand game is being played across the universe.
I just wish she wasn't responsible for so many of my problems.
