Chapter 164 The Prohibition

"Who is he to you, that you are willing to lose your own life for him?" Ren Yanzong's eyes were filled with rage as he saw Ye Xuan disappear in an instant.

"Don't you want to know the fate of those who left the Spirit Realm?" Chu Lingwei asked instead of answering, believing that those who stayed in the Spirit Realm would be eager to know the situation outside.

Ren Yanzong was stunned by her words, his movements slowed, giving Chu Lingwei an opportunity. The Ice Jade Cold Frost Sword in her hand pierced directly towards the heart of Ren Yanzong's disciple.

"You cannot kill me." Ren Yanzong frowned as he looked at the blood flowing from his chest, thinking that killing him was utter folly.

"I know."

Chu Lingwei withdrew her sword. As she had expected, she was unable to kill the person in front of her in her own way.

"Are you very smart?" Ren Yanzong finally looked at Chu Lingwei seriously. She knew much more than he had imagined.

"I want to know what is different about the Spirit Realm from the outside," Chu Lingwei said, standing in front of Ren Yanzong's disciple and looking him in the eye.

Ren Yanzong scoffed, "Do you think I will tell you? You cannot kill me, but I can easily kill you."

"Those who left the Spirit Realm all died for various reasons within ten years; not a single one survived."

"How is that possible?" Ren Yanzong's disciple was astonished. How could it be?

"What I said is true," Chu Lingwei sighed lightly, picking up the Ice Jade Cold Frost Sword in her hand. "So, you are at least alive by staying here, aren't you?"

Ren Yanzong's disciple stared at Chu Lingwei disbelievingly. This female cultivator knew too much, and her words might not be trustworthy.

"If that's the case, how could you have entered?" No one, knowing they would die if they left here, would willingly come here.

"Because our Spiritual Cultivation Academy wants to find out the reason." Chu Lingwei believed that her master's consent for her to enter was to understand what was different here.

"What reason could there be here?" Ren Yanzong's disciple took a step back, his eyes flickering. If her words were true, then why did those who left die? "You might not be able to get out."

Chu Lingwei raised an eyebrow. This male cultivator did not have as much killing intent as she had imagined.

"Do you want to know why you are staying here?" Chu Lingwei asked.

"What do you want to do?" Ren Yanzong's disciple was vigilant. For some reason, he felt that the female cultivator in front of him was very strange.

"Let's cooperate and find out the reason why this place is different from the outside." Chu Lingwei knew that the person in front of her wanted to know why he could not leave here even more than she did.

Ren Yanzong's disciple chuckled, "I have been here for a hundred years and have found nothing. Do you think you will discover anything in less than a year here?"

Less than a year?

Chu Lingwei's mind stirred. That was not right. Chu Lingwei had seen the time when the previous Spirit Wheel stage disciples entered here. They stayed for three months before being teleported out.

"You mean to say that you have been here for a year, and then those people were sent out?"

"Yes."

Ren Yanzong's disciple cast a deep look at Chu Lingwei, then quickly left, disappearing without a trace.

"His cultivation has reached the Supreme realm," Huan Mao's voice entered Chu Lingwei's ear. "Weiwei, the spiritual energy here can rapidly increase one's cultivation."

"But they should never be able to break through." Even if their cultivation increased quickly, it would be useless. They could not leave this place, and their cultivation would be suppressed.

"Yes, their cultivation is suppressed here, and they will never have the chance to unleash it." Feng Ming snorted. Although the cultivator just now was powerful, capable of reaching the Supreme realm, they three working together would not be without a chance of winning.

Chu Lingwei summoned her flying artifact and sped towards the west.

She had to find out what was different here as soon as possible, otherwise, if she was suddenly teleported out, it would be a wasted effort.

"That person hasn't left," Feng Ming sensed someone following them and quickly transmitted to Chu Lingwei.

"Don't worry about him. Perhaps he will help us in the future." Chu Lingwei shook her head. He was clearly tempted by her proposal just now.

Shortly after Chu Lingwei left, the Ren Yanzong disciple stared in their direction for a long time, but finally couldn't resist and quickly followed.

"Where did that Ye Xuan go?" Feng Ming couldn't find Ye Xuan even with his divine sense, feeling somewhat speechless. He clearly knew Chu Lingwei was heading west, yet he couldn't find him.

"We don't need to worry about him." Huan Mao had no concern for Ye Xuan's safety. He was a cultivator and had his own tribulations.

Chu Lingwei had felt someone following her all along and didn't pay it much mind until she reached a restriction.

"Huan Mao, is there any way to open it?"

"I cannot," Huan Mao tried for an hour, then shook his head with a sweat-drenched face. "The cultivation level of this restriction is too high; I have no way to open it."

Although Huan Mao was a spirit beast, his current cultivation was not invincible.

Chu Lingwei used her spiritual energy to try and touch the restriction, but her entire body was repelled.

"What kind of place is this?" Chu Lingwei could see the scene inside the restriction with her own eyes; it was a dense forest, with birds singing and flowers fragrant, looking beautiful.

She knew in her heart that this was likely just the scene the people inside wanted them to see.

"This is not a place you can enter." The Ren Yanzong disciple appeared beside Chu Lingwei. "I have been here for a hundred years, and I have never heard of this restriction being opened."

"What about the cultivators who have been here longer than you?" There were not only cultivators who entered here a hundred years ago, but also those who had been here for much longer.

Ren Yanzong finally understood that Chu Lingwei truly wanted to find out why this place was like this. She was different from those cultivators who entered seeking opportunities.

"They probably know nothing about this place either, otherwise, they wouldn't be staying here obediently."

There was no cultivator here who didn't want to leave. They had tried every possible way, but all were in vain.

"Among cultivators like you, are there any whose lifespan is nearing its end?" These people's cultivation was suppressed to the Spirit Wheel realm, yet they possessed formidable combat capabilities.

"No, they are all living well." Their cultivation did not improve, but they knew clearly that if they left here, they would definitely break through, and perhaps not just a little. Therefore, their lifelong wish was to leave this place.

"This is strange?"

Chu Lingwei exchanged a look with Huan Mao and the others. These people were truly unfathomable.

"Weiwei, I suspect it might be something within the spiritual energy," Huan Mao speculated.
