Chapter 12: Choosing the Best Target for Dinner
After having cleaned myself of the blood the best I could, I grabbed a dress to go to dinner. Unfortunately, I’m still reeking of blood because the smell was strong and just taking a shower didn’t fix it, so I’ll just have to go like this.
I’m wearing a beautiful black and white dress, with white ruffles that accentuate my lovely skin and eyes, and of course the dark, somber black tone highlights my lovely purple hair.
"I’m so elegant, there’s no way around it!" I say to myself proudly, swinging open the bedroom door and stepping out. I know there won’t be a table just for me the maids are still too ignorant to do nice things for me.
So I need to go have dinner with someone, but the Demon King is someone I can’t possibly have dinner with, so that just leaves the other romantic targets. Time to start the process of elimination.

And with that, in various attempts, Evelyn guides Grace to death just for not believing her, Evelyn basically judges that Grace is lying, ’Grace doesn’t love her and will hurt her in the end, so it’s better to just get rid of her,’ that’s Evelyn’s mentality in the game, which is obviously a demon.
In Laplace’s case, he rapes Grace if she’s not careful, although he has an equally sad backstory, Laplace was one of the most hated characters until they discovered more about him, so he lost some of the hatred.
By the way, the fans of the R-18 scenes in the game loved him since he’s the one with the most routes that lead to something spicy, which reminds me that Evelyn is the one with the least amount of routes with naughty things.

Since Augustus is someone very paranoid and cautious, he decided that Grace was too dangerous to be left alive, honestly it was horrible to see someone with his cute appearance killing Grace.
’I shudder just remembering...’ This clearly shows something, this Otome Game always had a single focus, to show that the player’s choices have consequences, and if made poorly, death is all that remains.
This forces all players to read the questions, understand the plot, and choose the best answer. If you don’t understand their personalities, all that’s left for you is death when you choose something wrong.
’Tsk! I have to admit that when this mechanic was in the game, it was cool...but...now that I’m witnessing this in real life...it seems terrifying...’ A wrong word from me can bring my end at the hands of the wrong person.
’Is it really safe...for me to try for friendship with Augustus?’ He’s one of the easiest romantic and friendship routes, as long as you never make a mistake.
The game remembers every choice the player makes, and if you make a mistake, Augustus will never forget it, meaning that from one mistake, each new mistake carries more weight until it reaches the point of collapse.

Besides, I’m realistic, I’ve played the game a lot to know, Esther doesn’t change easily, even loving Grace in some of the routes, she never gave up on killing everyone.
So love won’t change Esther, I’m not stupid enough to think that just because I’m a fan who loves the game, I can change the characters’ personalities. If the Heroine, who is the hope of change for the demons, couldn’t change Esther, it won’t be me who can.

I just think maybe I should have been more realistic, I know the game like the back of my hand...I just forgot to realize that this is no longer the game, and now Evelyn’s palm is my own.
