Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Tower Of Primodials (2)

Seraphina’s eyes expressed understanding as she saw the determination in Vahn’s gaze. But there was a faint worry in her heart.

She wanted to say something, to warn him more, but she knew he had already made up his mind.

"I don’t think I can stop you now?" she murmured more to herself than to him.

Vahn let out a faint smile and said,

"I’ll be fine, Seraphina. Besides, I can’t ignore the attraction I feel to that place. The Tower of Primordials is the pace where I need to go."

Seraphina let out a faint sigh. Her eyes searched his face as if trying to read the depths of his decision.

But he found no hesitation, no fear.

Finally, she reached into a drawer beside her and took out a jade slip. It was emerald green in color that glowed faintly in the soft light of the cave.

"This is for your journey, Vahn." she handed the strnage object to him with grace.

Vahn took the slip with some confusion. It felt slightly cold and smooth on his fingers.

He raised an eyebrow at her and asked,

"What is this?"

"This is a specially crafted travel artifact. Once you activate it, you will be directly transferred in front of the Tower of Primordials.

And If you ever find yourself in life-threatening danger there, just channel some Spiritual Qi into it and it will bring you back here safety. It’s a useful tool. So use it wisely"

Vahn looked greatly impressed.

"So, it’s like a two-directional teleportation device?"

She nodded in affirmation.

"You’re correct. But don’t worry about wasting it. I have plenty. And if you don’t return within a reasonable time frame, I will come for you personally. I don’t care about the consequences. I want you safe no matter what."

Her firm voice left no room for argument.

Vahn felt something more than gratification.

"This is incredible! I’ll make sure to use it wisely as you said."

The very idea of traveling such a great distance in an instant seemed almost unbelievable.

But if she had said it, this had to be true.

Calming his excitement, he looked at Seraphina again.

"Then, I’ll go and make my preparations for departure. I don’t want to wait any longer."

Seraphina’s sighed again. A helpless sigh.

"Be safe, Vahn. And don’t forget—what you do in that Tower, it’s more than just about strength. Remember your heart, no matter what challenges you face."

Vahn gave her a confident smile, "I won’t forget. And don’t worry, I’ll be back before you know it."

With that, he turned and began walking toward the exit of the cave.

Seraphina watched him go in silence. She felt a mixture of pride and worry in her chest. He was ready, she knew that. But the dangers awaiting him were beyond her control. Still, the fact that he was willing to go at all told her everything she needed to know about his resolve.

"Good luck, Vahn. I’ll be waiting for you."

She whispered in barely audible voice, but her growing affection was clear.

---

Vahn hurriedly went to prepare himself. Although his preparation was nothing too grand.

He just picked up a low-grade saber from the training ground. That’s the only equipment he had access to.

Only now did he feel the need for powerful weapons and equipment.

If only he had a spirit weapon, he could unleash skills more effectively.

Till now he was only reliant on the system to give him some weapons and equipment. But now he realized, perhaps he shouldn’t always expect the System to help him all the time.

The System Rewards are good... extraordinary to be specific. But for certain things, from now on he decided to take them into his own hand.

But for now, he had to satisfy with the steel Saber.

His preparation was complete.

So without delay, he activated the transportation artifact by injecting a trace of spirit energy into the jade slip.

"Buzz!"

Instantly, a low buzzing sound echoed from the jade slip.

Then, under his astonished eyes a blue sphere of spiritual energy wrapped around him in a protective cocoon.

In the next instant, before he could blink, the cocoon vanished, so as well Vahn.

His eyes were flooded with multicolored lights, and his body felt as though it were piercing through the fabrics of space.

Fortunately, there was no pain, only a slight discomfort in his eyes. But when he closed them, even that disappeared.

For a few seconds he felt as though he was drifting into an endless ocean—out of time, out of reality.

But all of a sudden, he felt something solid under his feet. The atmosphere around him also returned to normal.

When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a towering construct, looming over him like a mountain.

His mouth formed an O shape in surprise.

It was so huge, so tall, that it nearly stole his breath away. It pierced through the clouds, and even then, the top could not be seen.

Standing before it, he felt insignificantly small, like an ant looking up at an elephant.

But he was not alone there.

Many other humans in different robes and with different demeanors roamed around. Some were enjoying the landscape view, some sat in meditation, while others entered and exited the tower in steady waves.

The entrance was a massive stone door, opened just slightly to allow people to pass through and face the trials within.

On each side of the door, alphabets of an ancient tongue were engraved, though he could not comprehend their meaning.

"Hey, brother, are you also here to test your talent?"

A young man with white hair tied into a bun suddenly called out to Vahn.

"Yes," Vahn replied curtly, then stepped forward into the tower without sparing him another glance.

Yet the white-haired boy trailed after him like a shadow.

"Wait up, brother. My name is Valzar. I’m also here to test my talent like you. If I’m lucky, maybe a higher-level sect will recognize me. If they take me in, life will become so much easier."

The boy named Valzar chattered on, his words spilling out without pause.

But to Vahn, it was as though the boy didn’t exist. He had no time for idle talk, no space for meaningless bonds. He wasn’t here to make friends. He was here to win. And in his eyes, everyone who walked into that tower was a rival.
