Okay, the last one should be from Superman.
But none of that matters. What's important is that through these failures, Bai Qi can see how perfect the final clones will be.
"That's all for today."
After eliminating the last failed product, Bai Qi teleported to the observation room and asked Octavius and the others, "Have all the data been recorded?"
"Yes, sir, all data has been recorded."
"Excellent. I'll leave some Shadow Ninjas to protect you and the internal staff."
"Work hard, and I won't treat you unfairly."
With that, Bai Qi vanished before them.
Little did Bai Qi know how profoundly his display of strength today had impacted Miles Warren.
Originally, when Warren learned that his experimental goal was to fuse three different genes for cloning, he was somewhat displeased. In his opinion, incorporating multiple genes into a clone was entirely unnecessary. Superman's gene was acceptable, given his power.
However, incorporating the genes of an unremarkable little girl was, in his view, adding superfluous elements. It not only increased cloning difficulty but, due to the fusion of three different genes, even the stabilizer's effect would be compromised.
Still, he was just brought here to work, and the experimental subject was designated by Bai Qi. No matter how dissatisfied he was, to achieve immortality, he had no choice but to put his head down and work.
But after witnessing Bai Qi's power today, Warren became even more convinced of his own idea.
Using the single gene of the Holy Lord for cloning, perfectly replicating another Holy Lord.
Once completed, he would set up several safeguards within the clone, ensuring its absolute obedience. With that, he was certain to acquire more resources, and with the added condition of immortality, he could elevate humanity to a new height.
Fortunately, Bai Qi was unaware of Warren's thoughts, or he would have surely torn the old man apart. It was precisely because of Warren's idea that he would later create a true rebellious son for Bai Qi.
As for Bai Qi, upon his return, he immediately began preparations. After all, looking at the current situation, Octavius's cloning experiment was the highest priority among all of Bai Qi's endeavors. Before its completion, this place absolutely could not be discovered by the outside world, so security had to be maintained at the highest standard.
First, Shadow Ninjas were indispensable. Not only were they skilled, but they also worked tirelessly. Bai Qi arranged for fifty Shadow Ninjas to be dispatched to Octavius's laboratory.
In addition to this, Bai Qi instructed Master Mimic to select fifteen loyal and powerful mercenaries from his subordinates, equip them with the latest developed combat armor, and form them into teams of five. One team would be responsible for perimeter security, and two teams would be responsible for internal staff safety. As for Octavius's personal safety, it would be provided by two Razor Ninjas, whom Bai Qi had personally enhanced, for close protection.
Having arranged everything to his satisfaction, Bai Qi nodded contentedly and went to his chambers to rest.
Time flew by, and a week passed in the blink of an eye.
During this week, Nick Fury successfully persuaded the President of the United States to pressure the Island Nation to expedite the handover of Kuchijima Island.
There was no other way; Nick Fury had signed that contract and had to fulfill its terms.
After all, under Bai Qi's relentless efforts, although Black Mother was not yet able to surpass Righteousness, she was at least no longer completely defenseless against Righteousness's domestic abuse. Even if Righteousness truly intended to engage in domestic violence, he would have to weigh the consequences carefully.
Furthermore, among the numerous positive figures, Nick Fury's status was not yet high enough for Righteousness to intervene forcefully on his behalf.
The United States, on the other hand, did not react significantly to the government's actions. After all, the US government's daily antics and bizarre news stories were too numerous, and the American public had developed a certain resistance. Such hegemonic behavior was, in the eyes of the American people, a common occurrence.
However, the situation was different for the Island Nation.
The discipline of the US military stationed in the Island Nation was already poor, and they had committed many such misconducts, causing widespread resentment among nearby residents. Various protests and demonstrations were constant. But they were the US military, and they simply ignored them. The Island Nation's government was powerless to prosecute these US soldiers under its own laws.
However, the local government of the Island Nation had not failed to attempt negotiations. But each negotiation yielded poor results. To begin with, those sent faced the US military officers with subservience, like grandchildren. Even if the other party promised to severely punish the offending soldiers under US law, it would only be for a day or two, at most three days, before those soldiers would brazenly reappear on the streets, seeking their next target.
The public was helpless against the government's incompetence. Those with some financial means, especially families with daughters, would choose to move away. Even though the local government implemented various policies to retain residents, a large number of people would still apply each year for the safety of themselves and their families.
Putting all that aside, while they were being trampled upon by the US military, they could still avoid it by moving away. But this time was different. This time, the United States was directly demanding to seize one of their islands, and hand it over to another country.
This completely ignited the long-simmering public resentment. Large numbers of people took to the streets, blocking the Prime Minister's official residence in protest. More patriotic youths took advantage of the darkness to throw explosives at the Prime Minister's home, or ambushed him on his usual route, willing to use suicide attacks to send the traitor who sold out national sovereignty to the afterlife.
Although these terrorist attacks failed to kill the Prime Minister, the ensuing chaos plunged the entire Island Nation into turmoil, with news reports flooding in.
Of course, most of these news reports were filled with denunciations of the Prime Minister, and there were even voices calling for the Prime Minister to commit seppuku as an apology.
Even with the intervention of the Island Nation's police and the round-the-clock protection by plainclothes bodyguards, arresting a large number of people preparing for or carrying out terrorist attacks, they still could not stop the patriotic youths' passion for eliminating traitors.
And so, the Prime Minister was sitting in his bulletproof car, heading towards his official residence. Police cars protected him from all four directions, with two police officers on motorcycles clearing the way. Along the route, all the citizens who saw the Prime Minister's car would offer their most sincere greetings to his parents, and some even brought out eggs and vegetable scraps they had been reluctant to eat, throwing them at the Prime Minister's motorcade.
Mixed in with the enraged crowd, Takagi looked at the incensed citizens around him and then at the motorcycles clearing the road. He sighed helplessly and muttered softly, "Originally, it was the Prime Minister's..."
Before Takagi could finish speaking, Sato elbowed him in the side.
