It wasn't Daili's fault she was so exhausted.
In the cave, while everyone else rested, it was Daili who led a group to measure the load-bearing capacity of the stone bridge. Later, they were attacked by fire insects and fell into a deep chasm. They barely made it out before encountering the Gatekeepers. Everything happened in quick succession, leaving Daili no time to rest properly.
The others were in a similar state. After a simple clearing of weeds from the stone house, they all set up their sleeping bags and tents to rest.
Savich gave Bai Qi a look and walked out of the stone house. Bai Qi soon followed.
Finding a secluded spot and ensuring they weren't being spied on, Savich looked at Bai Qi and said, "What are you up to? You don't actually plan on treating that old chief, do you?"
"Of course," Bai Qi replied, nodding earnestly. "As everyone knows, I, the Holy Lord, am a man of my word. A promise is a promise, and if I say I'll do something, I will."
Savich didn't doubt Bai Qi's abilities. He just couldn't understand why Bai Qi would get involved in such a messy affair. Curing the old chief's chronic illness would bring no benefit to him or Bai Qi's future plans. At best, it would earn them some goodwill.
But this kind of goodwill, in Savich's opinion, was unnecessary. When their armies advanced, overwhelming firepower would surely force the Gatekeepers to yield.
Even if they were all as steadfast as virgins, they could be slaughtered to the last man, and then he or members of the Illuminati could take over.
Don't think it's impossible. Savich was capable of such actions.
Though they were allies, Savich had secretly worked behind the scenes. If all his contingency plans for Bai Qi were written down, they would be over two meters high. Even for other members of the Illuminati, Savich had at least half a meter of contingency plans.
Bai Qi was aware of this.
Such mutual planning and preparation were common unspoken knowledge within the Illuminati.
Bai Qi had also asked his strategists to draw up contingency plans, but they quickly abandoned the effort as thankless.
The reason was simple: apart from Savich, the immortal, Queen Bee and Luther were ordinary humans. Even Gule had lived so long due to the Fountain of Eternal Life. Without the spring, he was no different from an ordinary person.
Under absolute power, all schemes were useless.
Bai Qi had no such principle as "no killing." Coupled with the characteristics of the Shadow Kingdom, Bai Qi could reach any place on Earth almost instantly. What would happen next was a foregone conclusion.
A smile played on Bai Qi's lips. "It doesn't matter. Perhaps it will yield unexpected results."
Then, Bai Qi decisively ended the topic. "Alright, let's talk about your plan. Don't let us end up fighting each other like the Dragon King and his father."
Savich hadn't intended to hide his plan from Bai Qi. Since Bai Qi was asking now, there was no need for him to conceal it. He went along with the flow and revealed his intentions.
Savich's plan was very simple. As soon as he set foot on the Lost Continent, Savich had used his methods to transmit information outwards and had already pinpointed their exact coordinates.
Now, a large number of troops loyal to Savich were on standby. As soon as Savich gave the order, the army could march and suppress the Gatekeepers with one hundred percent military force.
Savich dared to guarantee that not a single one of the Gatekeepers would be able to breathe.
Don't underestimate Savich. If anyone in the Illuminati had the highest combat power, it would undoubtedly be Bai Qi. But if anyone had the greatest influence, it would definitely be Savich.
As an ancient fossil who had lived for an unknown number of years, Savich's influence spanned every corner of the globe. From high-ranking government officials to petty thugs, any one of them could be Savich's subordinate, or at least have intricate ties with him.
Whether Bob and the others would interfere was irrelevant. If Bob and his ilk were foolish enough to obstruct him, Savich wouldn't hesitate to silence that annoying mouth of his forever.
As for how Savich would transport his army, the method was simple. He could do it with this small box in his hand.
"I didn't expect you to have this too."
Looking at the small box in Savich's hand, Bai Qi's eyes showed a hint of greed.
That's right, what Savich held in his hand was none other than the most technologically advanced product in the entire DC universe: a Mother Box.
Savich naturally saw the greedy look in Bai Qi's eyes. Of course, he understood why Bai Qi looked that way. To avoid unnecessary trouble later, Savich promptly explained, "Don't stare. This is just a replica. Its only function is to open a Boom Tube to transport troops from the other side. If you want to create cyborgs like Cyborg, I advise you to give up, or you can go to Apokolips and get some original imports."
"That can wait."
Upon hearing that the item was just a replica and could only be used as a switch to open a Boom Tube, Bai Qi instantly lost interest.
What a joke. Using this was not as practical as his own Shadow Kingdom. At least on Earth, the Shadow Kingdom completely outclassed a replica Mother Box.
As for going to Apokolips to get original imports, that could wait. After all, the Holy Lord and Darkseid had a past feud. Even if he were to go, it would have to be after Bai Qi's strength had fully recovered.
Otherwise, with Bai Qi's current strength, there was an over eighty percent chance he wouldn't return.
Although Bai Qi possessed immortality, it was still easy for Darkseid to destroy a primordial demon with an immortal characteristic.
Getting back to the present, after giving up his desire for the Mother Box replica, Bai Qi also revealed his plan, and incidentally, warned Savich to preferably not bring his troops over, at least not until he received his signal.
"Why?" Savich asked, confused. "Are you going to use curing the old chief to control the entire Gatekeeper tribe?"
Bai Qi pondered for a moment and said, "That's part of the reason."
Then, Bai Qi continued, "Have you forgotten what that Gatekeeper named Tom Cruise said?"
"What did he say? That prophecy?"
Magic existed in this world, and prophecies were essentially a branch of magic.
"Precisely. The Demon Dragon and its minions. The Demon Dragon refers to me, and the minions could be considered Harry and the others. If the Gate of Destruction is truly reopened and monsters appear again, do you think your army would kill the Gatekeepers first or the monsters?"
"Of course, kill the monsters first."
Savich replied without hesitation.
Savich had ambitions to conquer the world, but he wanted to conquer a complete world, a living world.
