Chapter 449 Facing Keisha (4)

The black energy reserves within his body were dwindling, rapidly approaching depletion. Yet, Kaisha's attacks showed no signs of stopping, nor even any indication of slowing down.

"Damn you, Karl, when in the hell will you be ready?"

Bai Qi cursed inwardly, regretting his overconfidence in engaging Kaisha in a one-on-one duel. Wouldn't it have been better to team up with Morgana for a two-on-one fight?

But now that the battle had reached this stage, surrendering or dropping his barrier felt... beneath him.

"It's now or never!"

With that thought, Bai Qi waved his hand, dispersing the surrounding blade storm. He then used spatial magic to conjure a scorching small sun and, in front of Kaisha, swallowed it whole.

The searing flames churned within Bai Qi's body. He himself turned a vivid red, much like a steamed crab.

However, Bai Qi paid little mind to this. After enduring so much pain, what was this? More importantly, as he endured the agony of the burning, Bai Qi rapidly absorbed its energy, healing his wounds. Any surplus energy was converted into black energy and stored.

It was quite ironic, really.

As an primordial demon, Bai Qi was, without a doubt, a prime villain. Yet, here he was, drawing power from the sun, an embodiment of justice, to recover.

Facing Kaisha was not a decision made on a whim. Bai Qi hadn't dared to appear here for a one-on-one showdown with the apex of the Super God Universe without extensive preparation.

As long as Kaisha lived, what were the Heavenly Beings? They'd be cowering in the depths of the universe, playing in the dirt. What about the Triangles? They'd also be "peacefully" living in the cosmic abyss. Even Karl, the erudite scholar with unparalleled knowledge in the Super God Universe, wouldn't dare to openly cause trouble.

It was only after Kaisha's death that all sorts of nefarious forces dared to emerge and stir up trouble. Even when Karl later lured Kaisha to Emerald Star, it was Kaisha's willing sacrifice. Otherwise, with a swift strike, she could have cleaved Reina in half.

To confront this supreme being, Bai Qi had made considerable preparations.

The magic barrier he'd summoned, along with the array of runes below, were magics crafted by Bai Qi after absorbing the world's origin, based on the world's rules. It was precisely because of this blessing from the world's rules that Kaisha could not break through them.

Besides these, there was also the small sun Bai Qi was currently absorbing.

Within the demon faction, although Morgana was diligently researching the use of stellar energy, her progress was far from reaching this level, especially concerning its suppression.

However, Bai Qi was unconcerned. He had utilized demon technology to extract a significant amount of stellar energy and, through extremely violent means, compressed it into a small sphere—the very small sun Bai Qi had just retrieved.

While this resulting small sun did indeed contain a vast amount of stellar energy, its compression method was so brutal that it had become exceptionally volatile. It was only thanks to his formidable physique and his dominion over the sun and flames that Bai Qi dared to use the small sun directly as a battery to power himself.

Anyone else, let alone absorbing its energy, would have been melted by the heat radiating from it just by standing nearby.

Watching Bai Qi resemble someone burning their mouth on a roasted sweet potato, Kaisha, covered in bloodstains, couldn't help but let out a few soft chuckles.

Once Bai Qi had finally absorbed all the stellar energy, Kaisha calmly said, "I say, you're not weak, so why do you use such... primitive methods to harness stellar energy?"

Hearing this, Bai Qi's old face blushed. As Kaisha had said, Bai Qi's method of harnessing stellar energy was indeed primitive, and only someone like him would dare to do it. Among the angels, the high-ranking ones had methods from the Angel Civilization's system to harness stellar energy.

"How about you teach me then?"

"It's not impossible," Kaisha replied. "If you abandon the darkness and join me to fight Morgana, perhaps you might even gain the favor of a certain beautiful angel."

"Let's pass on that. Ever since I saw you, I've lost interest in other angels. If the Queen were willing to marry me, then I might consider abandoning the darkness."

Bai Qi's slightly teasing words did not anger Kaisha. Setting aside appearance and stance, his strength was considerable, his vision was broad, and his courage was undeniable. To openly ask for the Angel Queen's hand in marriage—there was likely no one else in the universe who would dare to do so.

Furthermore, he had mentioned abandoning the darkness, and appearance wasn't immutable. While the Angel Civilization might not have such methods, other civilizations might, and Bai Qi himself possessed magic to alter his appearance.

But... marrying me wouldn't be that easy.

With that thought, she retracted all her silver blades. Immediately, the space between them crackled with intense energy fluctuations. A towering statue of a silver angel, entirely crafted from dark-matter silver, appeared in the air. In its hand, the angel held a massive sword of flame.

Sensing an immense crisis, Bai Qi would not stand idly by. Just as he prepared to shatter it, thin chains bound him, rendering him immobile.

The reassembled silver wings were attached to the back of the colossal angel, transforming into a pair of enormous angelic wings.

"What the hell!"

Watching the giant angel raise its flaming sword high, immense energy coalesced on its blade.

Bai Qi was genuinely frightened. A direct hit from such a powerful attack would likely result in a very ugly death for him.

With that thought, Bai Qi didn't dare to hesitate. He frantically twisted his body, channeling his power to snap the chains, while simultaneously threatening Kaisha, "You are also within the array. Any damage I sustain will be reflected back upon yourself. Aren't you afraid...?"

"What do I have to fear?"

Kaisha, unfazed by Bai Qi's threat, declared, "You should worry about yourself. A misstep could truly be fatal." — Sultan Novel Network

Bai Qi showed no reaction to Kaisha's taunt, or rather, he had no time for one.

Speaking with Kaisha was twofold: to threaten her, projecting an image of mutual destruction, and to buy time for his internal black energy to recover.

Unfortunately, Kaisha was not swayed. She gave Bai Qi no quarter. The moment Bai Qi broke free from the chains, the giant angel in the air swung its sword, cleaving towards him.

"Screw it!"

Evading an attack of this magnitude was impossible. Gritting his teeth and stomping his foot, he decided to go all out. At worst, he'd die.

With that resolve, Bai Qi opened his massive maw and unleashed a torrent of scorching dragon flames with all his might. Laser beams shot from his eyes, his right arm transformed into a dragon's head, unleashing a formidable Thunder Cannon, while his left hand projected intense psychic power. He had deployed every potent attack he possessed.

His sole aim was to weaken this devastating blow as much as possible.
