Chapter 443 The Alliance of Haters

Annina had long been disgusted by this so-called Thor, Gorr.

This guy, relying on his identity as an alien and his powerful physique, had become a welcomed guest of the American government, living like an emperor. What was even more nauseating was that this guy was a complete stud, utterly unable to control his lower half. From elderly women of eighty to underage girls, he was indiscriminate.

The reason the American government was willing to satisfy Gorr's demands at any cost, besides the knowledge in his head, was to have him solve problems when the nation was threatened.

At the time, Gorr had boasted that he would deal with any enemy with his Stormbreaker in hand.

But now that the enemy had arrived, Gorr had chickened out.

Looking at the heavily armed Taotie, Gorr had only symbolically unleashed a few inconsequential lightning bolts before making a run for it. How could the American government let him go? They dragged him back, threw him into the League of Haters, and forced him to continue fighting the Taotie with the others.

Even after joining the League of Haters, Gorr still looked down on these mortals, as he called them. Now, with Annina hitting a sore spot, Gorr couldn't sit still. He swung his axe, intending to split this shrew in two.

Annina wasn't one to take his abuse either. She ducked low, evading his axe with a bizarre posture, then, her body moving like pliable clay, kicked the hand holding the axe.

That wasn't all. After the kick, Annina instantly adjusted her form and, with lightning speed, delivered another kick to Gorr's chest.

Relying solely on what Gorr called a mortal body, she forced the self-proclaimed Thor to retreat several meters, his Stormbreaker clattering to the ground.

"You! You're looking for death!"

Humiliated, Gorr grew even more enraged, like a wild beast. He launched an all-out attack on Annina. Thor and Captain America tried to stop this pointless internal conflict.

However, with Thor's mortal physique, even with exoskeleton support, he couldn't stop Gorr. Only Captain America could manage to hold him back, but even he was shoved aside within ten seconds.

Undeniably, in terms of sheer strength, Gorr's power was indeed beyond that of these ordinary humans.

But just as Gorr was about to pick up Stormbreaker from the ground, an accident occurred. Gorr found that he couldn't lift the axe. He tried several times, but it wouldn't budge an inch. Even his armor showed signs of peeling off with each attempt.

"How is this possible?"

Gorr retreated a few steps, no longer daring to try and lift Stormbreaker. After all, the lightning power within him came not only from the axe but also from his armor, which was a crucial conduit. If even the armor came off, the lightning power would truly be beyond his control.

Thinking this, Gorr stopped trying to retrieve Stormbreaker. In his mind, this axe wasn't something just anyone could pick up casually. Leaving it here and retrieving it after he recovered wouldn't be too late.

However, the atmosphere was somewhat awkward. Without his axe, Gorr was in a dilemma, unsure whether to continue fighting Annina or not. As for Wilt, he had quietly slipped away from the safe house during the ensuing chaos.

Just then, the door to the room next to the safe house suddenly opened. A soldier in uniform, holding a telegram, walked in. After scanning the few people present, he handed the telegram to Thor.

Reading the telegram, Thor's brow furrowed slightly. He looked up at the others and said, "The government's high command has decided to conduct a nuclear strike on this area to completely annihilate the entrenched Taotie legion. There are only two hours left until the missile launch, so we must evacuate as soon as possible."

"Nuclear strike!"

Hearing that the higher-ups were going to launch a nuclear strike, Annina exclaimed, "How could they do this? There are still so many civilians trapped in this city! This is murder, this is..."

"This is to prevent the situation from escalating further."

Thor said with extreme calm, "The high command's decision is sound. The Taotie legion is still concentrated now. If they disperse, the damage caused would be immeasurable. By sacrificing a small portion now to inflict a heavy blow on the Taotie, there's a high probability they'll temporarily withdraw from America, giving us a chance to regroup."

After Thor's calm analysis, even though Annina was still deeply dissatisfied with the high command's decision, she was powerless. After all, someone of her status was considered expendable. How could those officials listen to her? Sending them an advance telegram to give them time to evacuate was already more than they deserved.

"Alright, pack up and prepare to evacuate."

With that, Thor began adjusting his exoskeleton.

Time ticked by, and just as everyone had finished checking their weapons and equipment and were preparing to depart.

*Boom!*

The safe house shook violently. The two American soldiers at the door were about to investigate.

As they approached the doorway.

*Bang!*

The door to the safe house was violently kicked open from the outside. Two laser beams then shot out from the exterior, instantly headshotting the two soldiers.

"Enemy attack!"

Thor shouted, and machine guns popped out from his arms and shoulders. He unleashed a barrage of fire towards the doorway, not forgetting to fire two micro-missiles.

However, under Thor's full firepower, the Taotie soldiers, shields in hand, advanced step by step through the barrage. Behind them followed two Taotie soldiers armed with laser rifles, who strafed the human soldiers in the room.

The current situation was that the human firepower was completely blocked by the Taotie soldiers at the front with their shields. Meanwhile, the lasers fired by the Taotie soldiers behind the shields could penetrate the shields and precisely hit the human soldiers, making it an incredibly unfair fight.

But reality was cruel and merciless. No matter how passionate, how angry, or how skilled you were in combat, it was all useless in the face of overwhelming technological disparity.

Watching the human soldiers in the room fall one after another, even his exoskeleton armor taking several hits and nearing collapse.

"Everyone, this way."

Thor kicked over a sofa behind him and pressed a button underneath. A hidden door appeared on the wall behind them.

Seeing this, Gorr mustered his courage and charged forward, channeling all his strength to deliver a punch that landed heavily on the shield.

*Bang!*

The immense force pushed the Taotie soldier back a few steps.

Taking advantage of this opening, the group quickly escaped through the hidden door.

In the ensuing chaos, no one noticed Annina reaching out and gripping the handle of the axe. With surprisingly little effort, she picked up Stormbreaker, which Gorr had been unable to lift.

Though she didn't know how it happened, by the time Annina realized what was going on, Stormbreaker had disintegrated into countless fragments that attached themselves to her skin.
