Chapter 154 New Advertisement

"Old Yang, let me give you a brief rundown of my story outline."

"It's roughly about an anomaly within a tribe of gorillas, who is bullied by his own kind from a young age, then adopted by humans and becomes a beastly sovereign."

"In the story, we can heavily incorporate elements of branded cars. What do you think of my idea?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Ma Chaoqun looked at Yang Lin expectantly.

However, Yang Lin's answer left him somewhat bewildered.

"Uh, did you watch my livestream last night?"

"Livestream, what livestream?"

"You said this script was your original work. This is clearly plagiarizing my story."

"Your story? I stayed up all night thinking this up," Ma Chaoqun replied, utterly confused.

"Alright then, tell me how you plan to shoot it," Yang Lin said again after confirming multiple times that Ma Chaoqun wasn't lying to him.

"Here's my plan: first, I'll have Steve and those monkeys make a cameo appearance. Then, I'll find someone to wear a suit and play a super giant gorilla."

"Like a tokusatsu film, you know what I mean?"

"It would be best to arrange a fight between the gorilla and humans, perhaps a battle between the gorilla and human tanks, or fighting human fighter jets from the top of a tall building. This would add several twists, what do you think?"

After hearing Ma Chaoqun's shooting plan, Yang Lin was silent for a moment before seriously contemplating it.

While the plot might seem a bit melodramatic if applied to humans, it was perfectly suited for animals.

It brought together all the popular elements: excitement, combat, revenge, supremacy, species, and fantasy.

"Fine, you and Old Niu can go ahead and shoot it."

"However, you might not need suit actors after all."

"Why?"

Yang Lin didn't answer Ma Chaoqun's question immediately. Instead, he led Niu and Ma to the gorilla enclosure.

When they saw the massive size of Kong in the enclosure, they were stunned into silence, so excited they couldn't speak.

"This... this is exactly like I imagined it."

"Perfect, it's perfect! This is it, this is the true protagonist of this film!"

"Old Yang, where did you get such a huge gorilla? It's enormous."

Seeing Ma Chaoqun's expression of disbelief, Yang Lin replied directly:

"Just like you wrote in your story, ostracized by its tribe, and then I adopted it."

"So I strongly suspect you got its life script."

As soon as he finished speaking, all three pairs of eyes shifted back to Kong. Watching Kong happily interacting with humans, their expressions varied.

It took more than a minute before Ma Chaoqun finally asked another question.

"The script is ready, but we're short on a good title. So, Old Yang, what do you think this script should be called?"

Before he could even finish the question, Yang Lin already had the answer.

"Don't even think about it, it'll be called Kong, just like this little guy's name."

"Kong? What a great name!"

"In that case, why don't we start shooting today?"

"I think that's fine."

As they spoke, the three of them reached an agreement.

Before long, the filming of the third advertisement for Xihong Zoo's advertising department officially commenced on the wasteland next to the park.

Since this filming was to be conducted in the style of a tokusatsu drama, the set design was the most crucial part. Fortunately, it was a wasteland, and simple arrangements of forest and lake terrains would suffice for easy setup.

As for the city, Yang Lin initially planned to build it himself using wooden boards and the like.

However, Niu Feifan's suggestion instantly enlightened him.

"Why should we make these things ourselves? Why don't we just find a funeral supplies shop?"

"They sell cardboard houses in every shape and size. If that's not enough, you can even place a custom order. As long as you have the money, they'll build you an Empire State Building."

"Exactly! Last time I saw someone burn a paper mansion for their ancestors. And you know what, it looked just like the real thing."

"And those car models, airplane models, and so on, you can buy them now, and they're more realistic than the last."

Listening to their words, Yang Lin suddenly felt a sense of profound realization.

"Okay, okay, I almost didn't realize how times have changed."

"Let's get a few 3D printers then, and we can print whatever models we want."

"For now, we'll use cardboard for the set."

With a general direction in mind, the group immediately got to work.

In just one morning, they bought all the paper houses displayed in every funeral supplies shop in the vicinity.

Just as Ma Chaoqun had said, these paper houses printed by machines did look quite realistic.

With a little touch-up, they already surpassed the standards of tokusatsu dramas from earlier years.

After they arranged these paper houses on the wasteland, a city in the style of the United States appeared before them.

And right in the center of this city stood a model of the Empire State Building, several meters tall.

Yang Lin had commissioned this model from the upstream factory of the funeral shops at great expense. It was pure wood construction with an outer layer of spray paint, making it look like the real thing from a distance.

With the city completed, they then found some car models provided by the brand sponsors and placed them in various corners of the city.

"I've already thought of it. Later, Kong will smash one here, and then another one over there."

"During one advertisement shoot, we'll smash dozens of cars, all belonging to our sponsors. What do you think of this product placement method?"

As he spoke, Ma Chaoqun's face showed a hint of pride, clearly pleased with his ingenious method of product placement.

Yang Lin naturally had no objections to his hardcore placement strategy.

He just didn't know if the sponsors would have any objections later.

With the scene set, it was time to bring in the actors.

Under the gaze of countless tourists, Kong, Steve, and the park's little monkeys were all led by Yang Lin to the open space next to Xihong Zoo.

Since the two areas were already connected, the tourists easily followed.

When they saw the sprawling complex of buildings set up on the wasteland and the various scenes around it, they were stunned.

However, recalling previous incidents, the tourists immediately guessed what they were going to do this time.

"It's not going to be another advertisement, is it? What kind of advertisement is this?"

"Who knows? No one can tell."

"A real estate advertisement, it must be a real estate advertisement, with so many houses."

"Why are the actors this time either gorillas or monkeys? Is it a plot about animals rebelling against humans?"

"I'm an elementary school student, and I love watching."

"It feels like the budget is burning."

"Another day of watching a free show without spending any money."

Amidst the excited gazes of the tourists, the advertisement shoot officially began.
