As night fell, the visitors had all left the park, and Yang Lin was once again alone in the zoo.
Just as he arrived beside the artificial lake, a series of cries, like those of a newborn baby, emerged from the water.
Hearing this, Yang Lin almost lost his life from fright, but a moment's thought made him understand what was happening.
"You two, come out!"
As Yang Lin shouted towards the lake, two massive dark figures slowly emerged from the depths.
One resembled a python, its face covered in dense, sharp teeth. The other was a six-legged monster with a devilish face printed on its back.
If anyone else had witnessed this, they would have undoubtedly wet their pants on the spot.
"Indeed, at night, the terrifying effect is amplified tenfold."
Muttering this to himself, Yang Lin took out the feed he had prepared.
"Come on, eat up. Once you're full, we can get down to business. My mission completion depends entirely on you."
The two behemoths in the lake, seeing this, eagerly swam towards Yang Lin with affectionate gestures.
The giant salamander, in particular, nuzzled its plump, massive head against Yang Lin's pant leg.
Despite their limited communication abilities due to their intelligence, these two creatures had an inexplicable sense of dependence on Yang Lin.
After the two had finished eating, Yang Lin issued them a new command.
The command was for them to enter the Yong River through the waterway at the bottom of the lake.
That's right, Yang Lin intended for these two horrifying-looking creatures to impersonate water monsters in the Yong River.
Of course, there was no need to impersonate, as in the eyes of ordinary people, they were already perfect water monsters.
As soon as the command was given, the two creatures swam straight towards the Yong River, and within ten minutes, they were already in the river's waterway.
Perhaps due to the water monster incident the previous night, there wasn't a single soul enjoying the cool evening breeze or playing in the water along the Yong River at this moment.
Only the occasional vehicles and pedestrians passed by on the road beside the bank.
Seeing this scene, Yang Lin quickly instructed the two creatures to drift downstream towards the city.
After swimming for an unknown duration, a dense cluster of lights caught Yang Lin's attention.
Following the giant salamander's gaze towards the bank, he saw that the area with the concentrated lights was none other than a riverside park.
Within the park, various figures could be faintly discerned, some cycling, some skateboarding, and even a group of square-dancing elderly women.
Looking at these crowds, Yang Lin's eyes lit up.
"This is a good spot. This is where we'll do it."
"You two, get ready!"
Just as Yang Lin was about to have the two creatures emerge from the water to scare the people on the bank, a despondent young man, clutching a bottle of beer, staggered towards the river.
As he walked, he muttered to himself.
"Why does everything have to be blamed on me?"
"Why don't you all believe me? Why?"
"Forget it, life is already ruined. I might as well die."
As soon as he finished speaking, the drunken young man lunged headfirst into the river.
Due to the loud music from the square dancing, no one on the bank noticed someone falling into the water.
As for the drunken youth himself, he felt a flicker of regret upon entering the river.
But he couldn't swim at all and could only flail his arms aimlessly in the water.
However, just as he thought he was surely going to die, a round object suddenly nudged his lower back.
He, who had resigned himself to death, suddenly felt a glimmer of hope.
Soon after, he was pushed to the shallow water area.
Seeing that his life was no longer in danger, the young man assumed he had been rescued by a passing night swimmer.
But the next moment, when he looked back, his soul almost departed his body in terror.
In the shallow river water, a six-legged crawling creature was raising its massive head and looking at him intently. The devilish tattoo on its body seemed incredibly ferocious at that moment.
With a single glance, the young man felt a warmth in his pants. Without thinking further, he let out a scream and scrambled back towards the shore.
At this point, the park visitors finally noticed the commotion and ran over, eager to see what was happening.
When they encountered the drunken man, they immediately began to inquire.
"Young man, what happened?"
"Yeah, you're all wet. Did you fall into the river?"
"So what if you fell in? Do you need to be this scared?"
"He reeks of alcohol. He probably got drunk and accidentally lost his footing."
As everyone pieced together their theories, the drunken man finally recounted what he had seen and experienced.
"There's a monster in the water, a six-legged monster."
"Really, I was trying to commit suicide just now, and this monster saved me. It looked like a small car."
Upon hearing the drunken man's words, everyone present showed signs of disbelief.
"Six legs? What has six legs? Are you drunk out of your mind?"
"He's probably hallucinating."
"Maybe it's just the lounge chairs over there."
"Let's go, let's go. Thought it was something serious. Sisters, let's keep dancing."
However, before everyone could turn away, eerie sounds, like a baby's cries, echoed from the dark river water behind them.
Hearing these cries, most people's skin crawled.
Late at night, by the river, where would a baby be, and why would its cries be so loud?
Instantly, everyone's mind filled with ominous thoughts.
But there were still a few brave souls, driven by curiosity, who walked to the riverbank with their phone flashlights on.
As they shone the beams of their flashlights onto the river's surface, a gaping maw filled with sharp, pointed teeth appeared before their eyes.
At this moment, an unprecedented sense of fear overwhelmed their hearts. Their legs trembled uncontrollably, and though they desperately wanted to flee, they were rooted to the spot.
Just when they thought it was over, an even larger dark shadow slowly emerged from the water.
Its long, crocodile-like body, its six sturdy legs, and the devilish tattoo on its back—it was even more terrifying than the monster they had seen before.
"Oh my god! The water monster is coming ashore!"
Someone shouted, and instantly, those who were frozen regained their mobility.
Their first instinct was to bolt out of the park.
And those who had refused to believe were finally able to see the two monsters in the river under the park lights.
Without any further prompting, they ran as fast as they possibly could, as if they had grown extra legs.
In less than a minute, the entire riverside park was empty, not a single person left.
Yang Lin, watching this scene through the shared footage, showed a satisfied expression and issued another command.
"Let's go! Next stop!"
As his words fell, the two behemoths submerged back into the river.
