Chapter 1549: The - Ends Here

Chapter 1549: The Chapter Ends Here

The world seemed to shift and twist as the fallen Archon stood and turned around, looking at the depth of the pit, giving his back to Arad.

Arad didn’t fully understand what was going on, but he could sense Euri’s magic approaching, and it was in the same sorry state Alexander was in.

The fallen Archon seemed to have switched sides after evolving, but even now, Arad didn’t get why. He looked back at Diana and Mathilde with a question in his eyes.

Diana didn’t fully understand it either, but Mathilde seemed to have already gotten ready for a fight. She had expanded all of her wings and was slowly walking to stand beside the fallen Archon, ready to fight whatever horrid monstrosity Euri had become.

The fallen Archon had been a devil and had evolved only thanks to his strange curse, using the deaths of many of his devil comrades as a catalyst. By all means, he shouldn’t be able to hold this state for a long time without a god; he was destined to die and perish after just a few seconds of glory.

But that will never happen; this fallen Archon was here to stay, and he was even granted much more power than most, because while there was no god to grant him power, he had ascended in the presence of a higher being.

The fallen Archon now was the first angel of AO to be born in millions of years, and he knew very well the true nature of the being that stood in front of him.

The devil could barely comprehend it. At one moment, he was struggling to fight Arad, walking upon a mountain of corpses and despair. But when his only hope came, when he got the power to fight back against the harrowing invader, he got assailed by the knowledge of the reality he was in.

The abominations were like a disease; they had long since infected the devils of this world, even their king, Euri, wasn’t spared. This godforesaken land had been brainwashed and controlled by them, turned into a breeding ground and a sore cyst on the world.

He evolved from a devil to a mere angel, but then his soul linked to the nearest powerful being, and to his luck, AO himself had graced this land, coming to cleanse it with his two hands.

That link gave the devil enough power to evolve further from an angel with a single pair of wings to having ten pairs, becoming a divine emissary of the Absolute Omnipotent being that birthed the world into existence.

The fallen Archon’s body flashed with faint blue light, and then blood started seeping out of his eyes and ears.

Eyes emerged across the bones of his wings, and soon, his humanoid shell faded away, leaving a massive mass of wings all conjoined into a single feathery ball.

Over a thousand eyes opened on the wings, and then a deep rumbling voice roared from its depths.

"Be afraid, vile invader."

From the depths of the planet, Euri finally showed up, looking like nothing had changed in him. But it was as clear as day to Arad and everyone else that something was utterly wrong in his glassy, dead-looking eyes.

"A vessel of hatred." Euri smiled, lifted his arm, and clenched a fist. "I really hate this place, especially you."

A yellow mantle washed over Euri’s body, covering his face and proportion. Standing in front of them now was a titan that’s several kilometers tall, with a face shrouded in darkness.

The titan then shrank back to a relatively manageable size, being just as tall as Arad.

"Euri... no, Damned Nyar." Arad growled, and Nyar laughed.

"Of course, it’s me, who else did you think? Some random weirdo?" He shifted, and Arad could feel his gaze washing over him and then over everyone else.

The fallen Archon’s massive black wings flapped, and then, suddenly, something detonated, powerful enough to rip the planet apart.

Arad survived the blast, and he found himself engulfed in a storm of fire and boiling plasma. Everything was hot, violent, and deadly, and for a second, Arad felt that he might actually die here.

But to his luck, the blast wasn’t directed at him, but at Nyar.

Using a combination of barrier magic and his void, Arad managed to fly back and soon witnessed a harrowing sight, one that made him terrified for the first time.

The fallen Archon, Diana, and Mathilde were all engaged in a deadly fight with Nyar. The storm of chaos he was just trapped in was nothing but Diana’s true body, not the aftermath of the fallen Archon’s attack.

All that Arad could see was galactic wings, cosmic feet, and a nebula of pure chaos boiling and bubbling in a violent rage, all of them melting together and consuming an ungodly tide of tentacles and tar-like darkness.

Everything moved too fast and was too chaotic for him to wrap his head around it all, and for the first time in years, he felt small and weak, getting thrown away by the mere shockwaves produced by the clash of those horrors.

Whatever that fallen Archon was, he was far too powerful, and he seemed to have teamed up with Diana and Mathilde to fight Nyar.

Arad couldn’t just sit and wait; he wasn’t the kind of person to let others fight for him and run away. And besides, this was just one of his incarnations; even if he died here, nothing would happen to him.

That’s why he stopped thinking immediately and shifted into his draconic form, flying right into the middle of the chaos.

At the same time, he sent an emergency call to Kali, immediately notifying the gods about Nyar’s presence in the universe and causing a massive flood of angry divines to swarm the place.

But it wasn’t so simple; it would take at least a few seconds for Kali to arrive, even longer for the other gods and their angels.

In that time, Arad and the three Archons had to keep Nyar busy or repel him. From what Arad could guess, Nyar might want to make this world a military base inside the universe for the abominations, and he had spent the past two thousand years of accelerated time here making sure nothing gets in his way.

Arad expanded his elemental expansion, which looked like a mere drop of ink on the vast tapestry of space. The endless darkness of Nyar swallowed him whole, crushing down on his very soul.

Arad could feel more than his body and soul being erased; his entire being was getting assaulted. Nyar tried to rip him away from the fabric of the universe whole, cut him away from the threads of space and time, and reject him into the unknown beyond.

There, Arad could sense and feel it, a massive gate, a dam between him and the unknown beyond the reality of the universe.

This gate was like a door, and Nyar wanted to kick him through it. Arad didn’t know what was behind it, but he was certain he shouldn’t even get close to the gate, let alone pass it.

The gate slowly opened up, and Arad held to his very existence, clenching his claws on the fabric of space and time. He tried to anchor himself in the universe.

But then, a bare foot walked into the universe from the gate. Small, pale, and with sharp blue toenails.

Looking closely, the one who walked out was also short, smug, had long red hair, blue eyes, and a bad sense of humor.

The Gate closed behind Yog, rattling the universe. "Sorry, Chapter ends here."
