Fried Salted Fish
Chapter 303 Idea of the Mountain Gate Trial
This was no longer reversing life and death, but usurping the power of creation. But the Daoji Sutra was originally a classic of the Immortal Path, a celestial scripture brought out from the True Spirit Rank Chart. Even if it was only a Fifth-Rank Lower Grade, it was still a treasure difficult to find in the world.
Transforming into an infant, recreating an immortal body, even if the primordial spirit was damaged, it would be fine. It could revert and return from the primordial Qi, transforming back into a nascent soul and resuming cultivation!
The demonic Qi was completely extinguished, and even those fierce sensations vanished in an instant. All that remained was extremely pure primordial Qi, surrounding the newly born nascent soul. At this time, there was no distinction between the five elements, and the roots and bones had not yet been evolved.
But this was not difficult.
Ji Xiang opened his hands, then gathered them in front of his chest, and with a snap, he brought them together!
"Gather!"
With a command! The Qi of the five elements in heaven and earth suddenly gathered from all directions!
All things in heaven and earth, mountains and rivers, trees and grasses, spirits and gods, all things born and destroyed in the myriad phenomena, exist within the operation of the five elements!
Five Teeth Celestial Book!
It makes the five Qi of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth operate, existing in the human body and transforming into the nascent five Qi, to nourish the form of heaven and earth!
At the instant when the Qi of the five elements operated, many cultivators had already sensed it. They had gathered closer, not daring to act rashly, watching Ji Xiang operate. The old cultivator was again extremely astonished, seeing the Qi of the five elements returning to one, entering the nascent soul. Ji Xiang put down his hands, and he asked:
"Boy of the Huangdao from the Tongwei School, what kind of creation technique are you using now?"
"This is definitely not a method that can be cultivated from worldly scriptures. What people call the five elements are metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, and the birth and death of all things cannot leave the operation of the five elements, but your method... Old man, I have an idea..."
The old cultivator was knowledgeable and experienced. He said to Ji Xiang, "In the past, this old man once saw a technique of the Fajiao called 'planting spiritual roots'."
"Gathering the essence of heaven and earth, planting it in the human body, can make ordinary bones shine with radiant essence, producing transformation. But the Fajiao technique can only plant one kind of spiritual root... The immortal bones transformed from this spiritual root, although they have a momentary brilliance, will quickly decay. People who plant spiritual roots can cultivate, but after fifty years old, they will instantly age, and their lifespan will gradually dry up. If they cannot break through the sixth realm, then..."
"Death."
Ji Xiang said, "Planting spiritual roots is originally a folk Fajiao technique. The reason for its failure is that it has taken the wrong path."
"Immortal bones are born from spiritual roots, and they are essentially the same thing. The bones of a person are born innately, and it is difficult to change them later. If you want to change them, you need to supplement them with celestial marrow. I believe everyone has heard of this."
The old cultivator nodded, but some younger cultivators had never heard of the existence of celestial marrow, and shook their heads slightly at this time.
"One of the celestial marrows is dilijiang (earth milk), don't you know that?"
The old cultivator pointed out these young cultivators at this time, and the latter suddenly realized and immediately understood.
Celestial marrow often appears in poetry, but those are written by Confucian scholars, and they are not interested in it. Confucian scholars often use strange words to metaphorically describe things in cultivation, reflecting the atmosphere in poetry, but for Taoist cultivators, extracting useful things from the vast sea of poetry is really a lack of energy.
But who doesn't know what dilijiang is? Monsters are counting on this thing to soar into the sky. Once every sixty years, the moonlight is strong, and the essence of the moon is transformed into high-level demons. Those low-level beasts can even ascend to the sky in one step, opening their spiritual wisdom, washing their marrow and transforming into human form.
"Immortal bones and spiritual roots are conceived from the five elements. The five elements are the foundation of all laws, differentiated from yin and yang, deriving the eight trigrams, sixteen trigrams, twenty-four trigrams, sixty-four trigrams... The operation of all things is within them."
"People with poor innate constitution are difficult to make up for no matter how hard they try later, because the roots and bones of the human body have been fixed. You all know the principle that spilled water is hard to recover. The spilled water is like a tree that has grown up. If it is crooked since childhood, it cannot reach the sky when it grows up."
"And celestial marrow is extremely precious. There are five grades in the world, the first is the Qi of mountains, rivers, trees, and grasses, the second is the light of the sun, moon, and stars, also known as qiongjiangyuye (jade nectar)."
"The third is the essence of the moon, the fourth is the essence of the sun, and the fifth is the essence of heaven and earth."
"Even the lowest-grade Qi of mountains, rivers, trees, and grasses needs to be in a place full of spiritual Qi, waiting for a year, and in the changes of heaven and earth in this year, it is possible to condense a small part."
"Beyond the mountains and rivers, where else is there a place full of spiritual Qi? Even the immortal mountain sects of various families can only be called places of cultural interest, not immortal mountains and blessed lands."
When this statement came out, the cultivators nodded in agreement.
There is no celestial marrow in the world, so there is no way to forcibly change the roots and bones. Therefore, a good seedling for innate cultivation is especially important. Even if this kind of person does not have a firm heart for cultivation, and no matter what his character and morality are, having roots and bones is better than everything.
In the past, there were still many sects who insisted on the principle of not accepting disciples with bad character, but as time went by, and with the decline of talents, there were fewer and fewer people who adhered to this principle. Being able to find someone with good roots and bones to inherit their orthodoxy is the most important thing.
In the face of the inheritance of the orthodoxy, just as the people of the Shangqing Sect said, even people with poor morals and character are fine.
"However, as long as the Qi of the five elements is transformed into the nascent Qi of the human body before the roots and bones are fully grown, it can promote the birth of excellent spiritual roots and immortal bones in the newborn child."
The Qi of the five elements cannot be directly stuffed into the child's body. The innate pure body is extremely fragile, and the result of forcibly injecting the Qi of the five elements is the early death of the infant. That is why there is the Five Teeth Celestial Book, this kind of five-element immortal scripture!
"In the secular world, there are many people who lack a certain attribute in their destiny. For example, people who lack fire generally have a more yin body, insufficient yang, and their feet are easily cold, because fire is ascending, and lacking the fire element lacks the upward momentum. Although they are extremely intelligent, they may also die young, because the heart is also related to fire."
"The result of forcibly injecting fire not only cannot complete the five elements, but will also accelerate the other party's death. The power of the five elements in heaven and earth is extremely violent and is not a force that the human body can bear."
The old cultivator was emotionally excited, even beaming: "Huangdao boy, do you, now possess this kind of true spiritual root planting technique!"
He had a request, wanting to learn. After all, this could greatly increase the number of excellent talents in the mountain gate. There were many children with very excellent moral character who had difficulty having the aptitude for cultivation, and ultimately ended their lives hastily as miserable people in the secular world.
Misfortune always picks on the weak, and bad luck only finds the miserable. But if there is Ji Xiang's method, then for these children's "misfortune", it will become their "test" to ascend to immortality!
"Mountain gate trial?"
Listening to the old cultivator's words, Ji Xiang smiled: "This is not urgent. I have had this intention for a long time, so I have brought several children to the mountain gate in the past few months."
Brought several children to the mountain gate?
Someone muttered behind him, referring to the Hu family boy, a craftsman with a pure and quiet bone structure, and the Shen family girl you brought last time, right? They are all extremely excellent seedlings, and there is even a scholar with a strong sense of righteousness, a talented player in Confucianism... Oh, and a fox immortal from the Celestial Master's Mansion. Looking at the origin of this Celestial Master's Mansion, you can tell that his skills must be extraordinary.
Unfortunately, they are all people from Tongwei Temple. Now that the emperor is favoring Wudang again, thanks to your blessing, how dare we compete with you for talents? It's just that what you said is too "average".
"However, these scriptures and classics cannot be cultivated by the sect leaders, masters, and old seniors."
"This junior is not stingy in passing on the Dharma. This is also a good thing for promoting Wudang, but the cultivation of this scripture requires a person with all five elements."
Ji Xiang generously stated the conditions. The faces of the cultivators, which were originally either expectant or grumbling, all turned into embarrassment. They were stunned for a long time, looking at each other, and were at a loss for a while.
All five elements?
How could there be such a thing in the world... Oh, there is such a thing in the world, right in front of them. But even if there is, the world is so vast, with countless living beings, how can they find it!
At least on Wudang, there is no such person!
"No... there is no such person."
The old cultivator was at a loss, disappointed, and his expression was sad. This was truly sitting on a golden mountain without being able to take even a little bit. It was truly as those great sages of ancient times said, this was "sighing at the ocean"!
"Wrong, there is still such a person."
Ji Xiang added a word when everyone was disappointed and bewitched, and immediately pointed it out.
At this time, the infant on the ground had already stood up. All the Qi of the five elements had been transformed into the nascent Qi, and an unusual phenomenon appeared on his body. The appearance of a dragon and tiger was manifested!
"Patriarch!"
The people of Wudang woke up as if from a dream!
Truly, disappointment came quickly, bewilderment followed, but hope came even faster!
"That's fine! At least the patriarch can learn this kind of magic. The matter of the trial can be discussed again!"
"If you can really pass down this scripture, all the cultivators will make three bows! Wudang will prosper!"
The old cultivator was immediately radiant, energetic, and completely devoid of the bewildered look just now.
"This is not a big deal."
The Five Teeth Celestial Book was incomplete in the first place. It was only a part of the Five Talisman Celestial Scripture, and the cultivation conditions were harsh. Even if it was widely spread, few people could master it.
Instead of worrying about the leakage of secrets, it would be better to say that the greatest concern was the fear that this scripture would be lost to the world.
The infant's eyes were clear, as if he could see through people's hearts. At this time, he looked around at everyone blankly. His spiritual wisdom had returned, but because Patriarch Dongyun had been trapped in demonic obstacles for two hundred years, his wisdom had also been replaced by demonic obstacles. What had returned at this time was only the part of the primordial spirit that had not been eroded.
Someone had already changed the infant's clothes, although it was only a small blue coat.
Blue coat and small hat, is a kind of common clothes in Taoism in this era, convenient for cultivation, and does not affect life. Even Zhang Tianshi (Celestial Master Zhang) wore such clothes when he was a gatekeeper in the Forbidden City.
With the return of wisdom, the nascent soul child immediately struggled, with great strength, and pushed away the Taoist who was putting clothes on him. He looked vigilantly at his surroundings again. Sudan Novel Network.
"You? You?"
Patriarch Dongyun forgot many things, but he also remembered some things. After all, his attachments were deep. As a Pure Yang Realm cultivator who could be trapped in demonic obstacles for two hundred years, he had a way to lock his wisdom and mind. He frowned and asked, "Are you people from Wudang Mountain? Where is Zhang Sanfeng? How did I become an infant?"
"This Taoist robe doesn't look like it. Which sect are you from? Why is it so mixed?"
He looked confused. Wudang shouldn't have so many factions. He looked around again, and the environment was indeed a little familiar, with the atmosphere of Wudang.
And the cultivators scrambled to argue, saying that they were indeed people from the Wudang Mountain gate, the descendants of the old ancestor. They were not some evil cult organization, absolutely the real deal, your own mountain.
"You? Who are you again? How dare you wear black clothes?"
Patriarch Dongyun saw Ji Xiang, wearing black sacrificial clothes, looking like he was worshiping a god. How could Taoists wear such clothes normally?
"Are you going to worship some god? But you are so young, how can you wear black sacrificial clothes?"
"You are not worthy to be the chief priest."
Too young, it is impossible for such a young person to be the chief priest of worshiping gods. Not only is his ability insufficient, but his qualifications and magic skills must also be insufficient.
"What are you all looking at me for?!"
Patriarch Dongyun bared his teeth. His personality had also been greatly damaged due to the erosion of demonic obstacles. The state he showed was like a fourteen or fifteen-year-old boy, wary of everything.
"Patriarch!"
The surrounding Taoist disciples bowed to Patriarch Dongyun, and even Ji Xiang was no exception, which almost made Patriarch Dongyun jump up and scold, "How dare you worship me in this outfit!"
"I'm not dead yet... No! What's going on with you! I remember... I remember..."
He scolded, and his childish face was suddenly dazed. He couldn't remember what he was doing before, it was all a blank.
"No, no! In the twelfth year of Kublai Khan, I came here with Zhen Changzi and Zhang Sanfeng to repair the Tang Dynasty's Five Dragons Temple..."
"Then... then I took in a disciple..."
"Then..."
His eyes were full of confusion, and there was a huge flaw in his memory. He immediately asked, "What time is it now? Is Kublai Khan still alive?"
"Zhen Changzi, Zhang Sanfeng, where are they?"
Ji Xiang responded from the side: "Now it is the Ming Dynasty, the reigning emperor's surname is Zhu, and the reign is Wanli."
"This year is the twenty-fifth year of Wanli."
"Wanli? Who is Wanli?! Isn't the reign Zhiyuan! Is Kublai Khan dead?"
Ji Xiang: "Yuan Shizu (Kublai Khan) has been dead for three hundred years."
Patriarch Dongyun was stunned. He looked at the people from Wudang Mountain who were paying respects to him. Several old cultivators immediately said, "What Taoist Master Huangdao said is correct, the Yuan Dynasty is gone."
"Everything from the old world has dissipated with the wind. It has been three hundred and three years since the death of Yuan Shizu."
This huge sense of time difference made Patriarch Dongyun, who had just recovered, suddenly stunned. He looked at these people, at the old cultivators with white hair and long beards, then at Ji Xiang in black, and finally at the buildings on Wudang Mountain.
The place had been turned upside down, destroyed beyond recognition, but in the distance, he could still see some majestic palaces and temples standing on the mountain peaks, as if in the clouds.
When he came to repair this place, there were only four places to live.
There were absolutely no buildings with carved beams and painted pillars like those on the mountain peaks.
"That... which great Khan built it for us?"
"Patriarch, it wasn't built by any great Khan. It was built by the Taizu Emperor and the Chengzu Emperor for our Wudang during the founding of the Ming Dynasty."
Ji Xiang explained from the side: "At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the world was in chaos and turmoil. Many things have been destroyed and cannot be left to this day."
He also told Patriarch Dongyun that the Yuan Dynasty only existed for more than ninety years. Although there were nominally sixteen emperors, the first five, starting from Genghis Khan, were posthumously conferred. Among the next eleven emperors, the Shao Emperor (lesser emperor) reigned for twenty-seven days, and Emperor Mingzong reigned for one hundred and eighty-four days, adding up to less than a year.
At the end of the dynasty, the social situation was roughly similar in all dynasties, whether past or future.
Natural disasters, man-made disasters, people's livelihood, class solidification, corruption, constant uprisings, foreign invasions, and the monarchs or ministers who held the power of the state were eating their meals, resisting reform and progress, and only indulging in the sweet dream of collecting money. In the end, some people and the emperor tasted the bitter fruit of national destruction and death, while others successfully survived into the next era and were able to continue the incense and power for hundreds of years.
Finally, someone shouted the slogan of expelling the Tartars and restoring China...
Patriarch Dongyun briefly listened to the experience of the Yuan Dynasty's demise, and only felt like a dream. He now had memory fragments and could not remember the things of the past at all.
It was like a dream of yellow millet. After waking up, the world had changed. But what was different from the previous generation?
Perhaps, at least the dominance of the world had returned to the hands of the Han people?
He touched himself and said to Ji Xiang, "Then how did I become an infant?"
Ji Xiang briefly explained it. Who knew that Patriarch Dongyun would suddenly laugh out loud:
"All five elements, transforming the formless nascent soul into a tangible form? Is this still a worldly magic? How could there be such a method in the world! This is not something that ordinary scriptures can do!"
Ji Xiang responded with a smile:
"Yes."
"The so-called immortal scripture is to do what ordinary worldly scriptures cannot do."
"The so-called immortal magic is to have the power that ordinary worldly scriptures cannot achieve."
"It can be called immortal."
Dongyun was stunned and remained silent for a long time.
