Chapter 1510: Chapter 1501: This Human Must Die
Inside the straight corridor.
Ye Chenfeng, having comprehended the third level of Frosty Sword Intent, faced the sword intent emanating from the stone walls on both sides with much more composure than before. Even though the sword intent from the sword marks in the stone walls often left wounds on him, he was clearly in a state of enjoyment.
The more wounds on his body, the more he understood the sword intent. Now, Ye Chenfeng was even more eager about this relic, as in just a short time, his mastery of the Sky-Breaking Sword and Frosty Sword Intent had both improved.
As Ye Chenfeng countered the sword intent coming from the stone wall with his Dragon Soars Nine Heavens, he continued to walk forward quickly. After walking for about another half an hour, a blue light appeared ahead and the sparse sword marks on both sides of the walls gradually decreased until they disappeared completely.
Ye Chenfeng’s clothes had turned into tatters, but his self-healing ability was extremely strong, and many of the deep wounds on his body were already healing.
When Ye Chenfeng reached the end of the straight corridor, he saw a vast blue mirror surface outside the passage.
With a muffled “bang!”
The aura of his mid-stage Second Heavenly Layer in the Divine Thought Realm surged within him, and he struck the blue mirror with his palm.
The blue mirror did not crack in the slightest, and seeing this, Ye Chenfeng felt secure enough to step out of the corridor, his feet landing on the vast blue mirror.
This enormous blue mirror was about the size of a room. Ye Chenfeng started to stroll on it, but there was no way to go forward, suggesting that this might be the end of the relic.
Just as Ye Chenfeng was wondering if there was some sort of mechanism here, suddenly the blue mirror beneath him twisted sharply. Before he could react, the massive blue mirror transformed instantly into a vast expanse of seawater.
A gigantic whirlpool rapidly rotated in the water, sweeping Ye Chenfeng into it, pulling him continually downward into the depths of the sea.
The force of this enormous whirlpool was overwhelming, leaving Ye Chenfeng dizzy and unable to escape its pull, his body continually dragged downwards by the whirlpool.
Ye Chenfeng’s body was covered in wounds, and the salt in this seawater was higher than that of ordinary seawater. The soaking of these wounds in saltwater made Ye Chenfeng grit his teeth hard.
After sinking for about ten minutes.
Ye Chenfeng, who had his eyes closed, could no longer feel the seawater around him, and he could breathe air. Most importantly, he felt his body seemed to be falling rapidly.
He suddenly opened his eyes and saw that there was no seawater around him. He was about to make contact with the ground, and there were several metal bars to his left.
So, he grabbed onto the metal bars, sliding his body down them to the ground.
Or perhaps it’d be more accurate to say he was standing on a stage.
Ye Chenfeng looked around and saw metal bars surrounding the stage. These metal bars were made of very special material, extending upwards.
When Ye Chenfeng looked up, he saw a blue sky like the ocean above him, with the metal bars extending into this ocean-like sky, indicating that he seemed to be trapped inside a cage.
Ye Chenfeng’s gaze turned around, and he saw a circular audience seating area outside the cage-like stage, where individuals sat with mocking eyes fixed on him.
Ye Chenfeng clearly remembered being swept into the seawater, so how had he ended up here? What place was this?
As Ye Chenfeng puzzled over this, the voice of the White Shadow Person, Wu Fengxian, sounded: “Young one, these should not be Human Clan; they are Sea Clan people. Everyone of the Sea Clan has a blue ocean-like pattern on the back of their hand. But logically, the Sea Clan was wiped out in the Earth Profound Realm long ago.”
The voice of the Black Shadow Person, Jiang Yuntian, also spoke: “Kid, you should be under the sea right now. This world is probably formed by a special formation, and there’s a sealing power in this world.”
Sea Clan?
As Ye Chenfeng fell into deep thought, an angry voice rose up: “Li Yanshan, do you know what you are doing? This human is our hope to leave here. Have you forgotten the forefather’s prophecy? We’ve waited thousands of years for this one.”
Not far from the cage-like stage, a quite handsome middle-aged man shouted at another man of similar age before him.
The middle-aged man named Li Yanshan, with extremely ugly features, sneered: “Dong Yehai, you think this human can save our Sea Clan? Don’t fool yourself, and don’t use the forefathers’ prophecy to pressure me. Do you think our Sea Clan will benefit from seeing daylight again? It’s better to live freely here. Today, this human kid must die.”
The handsome man named Dong Yehai felt his temper flare as Li Yanshan spoke so decisively.
Sea Clan.
In the Earth Profound Realm thousands of years ago, this race suddenly rose to prominence, but many in the Sea Clan were notoriously brutal at the time.
However, they could only live in the ocean, and once out of the sea, their combat power drastically declined, and their cultivation would come to a standstill.
Back then, any ships that traveled the seas would be destroyed by the ruthless members of the Sea Clan, leading many sects in the Earth Profound Realm to resent them, though some in the Sea Clan opposed such slaughter, this was merely a small portion.
Eventually, the major sects of the Earth Profound Realm united to eradicate the Sea Clan, virtually wiping them out overnight as the Sea Clan was a force mighty enough to be a first-class sect back then.
Yet some from the Sea Clan managed to narrowly escape death, but the Earth Profound Realm had no more place for them. If other sects learned there were Sea Clan survivors, they would never let them go.
Finally, several forefathers of the Sea Clan sealed off a hidden space under the ocean using countless Spirit Stones, natural treasures, and their lives, allowing some of the Sea Clan to survive.
However, this sealed space had no seawater, and the Sea Clan dwelling there couldn’t enhance their powers by absorbing nature’s spiritual energy from the sea. Hence, many Sea Clan members’ strength regressed.
Nevertheless, the seal created a unique space where time seemed not to pass. Thousands of years went by, but those trapped in this sealed space still appeared the same age as before, which was the only benefit of this space.
Or rather, existing in this space, even without progressing in strength, nearly meant achieving immortality.
One of the forefathers proficient in star divination arts prophesied at the seal’s creation that someone would appear to lead them back to daylight.
And the one to lead them would be fearless of the “Dream of Death.”
This Dream of Death was the green gas emanating from the cave, which even Nirvana Realm masters couldn’t withstand.
Thus, Ye Chenfeng might be the one the Sea Clan has been seeking out, having set a restriction that they couldn’t leave this sealed space by themselves.
Ye Chenfeng’s successful entry into this sealed space could also be due to a unique mechanism left by the Sea Clan ancestors.
But now, the opinions among the Sea Clan in this space were visibly divided, and standing on the cage-like stage, Ye Chenfeng tightly furrowed his brows, sensing that the current situation might not bode well for him.
