Chapter 954: Chapter 750: The White Dragon’s Transportation Method
Early the next morning, the people of Temple of Heim set off towards the North, watched angrily by the Tyr Paladins.
Other than a few bored Undead Tribe roaming the streets, hardly anyone in Agleya City chose to get up so early at dawn just to watch a bunch of strangers move away.
Of course, Hill actually knew about it, since at that moment, he was just leaving one of the glass gardens behind the City Hall and happened to witness the entire scene.
The glass here in Toril is actually a specialty called glass steel, created using complex alchemy processes. It possesses both the hardness of steel and the transparency of glass. Winged Elves and Sun Elves created this extraordinary material, harder than steel but much lighter... So although it’s primarily used as a building material, some attention-seeking elves or humans do use it for armor or even weapons.
The price of this material is quite expensive, and it’s not often seen on the Ferun Great Land... Sun Elves love using it to build royal palaces or noble mansions, and they basically don’t sell it.
Those with so much money might as well get themselves a set of mithril armor... That thing can at least blend into the white armor on the battlefield.
Glass steel armor, however, cannot, as it stands out too much. That reflective and transparent armor and weaponry, in some ways, tend to attract unnecessary attention rather than offering a tactical advantage.
In other words, they’re the most fire-attracting presence on the battlefield... Whether elves or humans, those who use such things are either overly confident in their own abilities or too confident in their own intelligence.
In fact, Hill has always been able to make glass steel... But for him, who can easily obtain crystals, it really holds no significance.
However, when he planned to sneak over at night to do this, Coron, whom Hill contacted through some special method, suggested he build such a structure in his territory... There are already enough elves and half-elves under Hill, and Agleya could use more iconic buildings.
Hill’s previous domain was said to have an Elf style, but it could also be considered Nature System. Elves aren’t just creatures that enjoy natural beauty; they also love luxury.
Especially the Sun Elves... Their style consists of magical structures made of glass, crystal, and silver.
Although Hill felt it wasn’t necessary, having glass steel at hand... Hill, though silent, could still create many traditional alchemy creations of the elves. And given his character, he would of course make a finished product to see the effect... Sometimes he even suspects whether his inherited memory directly comes from Coron, as Hill is genuinely reluctant to admit that the Elven God King knew these things.
So after putting away the crystal gemstone used for contacting Coron, Hill decided to build a 1000-square-meter glass palace as the outer structure of his plantation, then use space crystals to enlarge it to 200 hectares, and finally fill it with a massive amount of pure earth excavated from the White Dragon Mountains.
The energy contained in the air here in Toril is indeed much less than in Teraxil, so if he doesn’t want to consume a large number of energy barytes, 200 hectares of land is already Hill’s limit.
But it’s already enough just for growing some herbs. Hill stayed up all night, working hard with sweat pouring, and finally completed Fran’s list before the sun rose.
Leaving the last batch of herb harvesting tasks to Lynn, who had kept him company laughing all night, Hill returned to the Floating Castle with a stern face under the dawn, and then saw the hurried departing figures from the Temple of Heim.
The messenger from Neverwinter also appeared in a sorry state, trailing behind the Holy Knights with a look of panic.
At first, Hill was a bit puzzled... For those who wanted to disgrace Agleya City because it was abandoned by a certain temple, they should’ve left under the watchful eyes of all!
Although Hill thought that those with such an idea might have something wrong in the mind, his identity as a descendant of Coron isn’t exactly a secret anymore.
An existence like Hill, to some extent, would be seen as a future deity. Even if Heim directly came to express dissatisfaction with him, it wouldn’t have much impact, let alone just some mortal believers.
But then he saw the priest of Tyr and the Righteous Knights standing on the section of the city wall near their temple, looking menacing with fierce eyes.
What surprised Hill more was that the half-god level Silver Shield Paladin Legion leader wasn’t standing at the front... You know, in the Tyr Temple, the status of priests and paladins is actually calculated separately. They can tell at a glance who the boss is, but outsiders can’t understand the complexity of their relationship: clearly, they are of the same level, so why does one city consider paladins as the leaders, and another city the priests...
So to prevent outsiders from having wild thoughts about whether they have some internal struggle, the believers of Tyr simply follow their abilities... rather than their status for positioning.
So, standing at the right rear, the Silver Shield leader, in terms of level here, is only third... He is actually the avatar incarnation of Tyr!
Hill glanced around a bit dazed... Ah, the white-bearded priest standing at the front seems to be the High Priest of Tyr responsible for guarding the Hell Gate Fortress in the Supreme Forest back then!
Then to his left should be one of the six commanders of the Righteous Knights... The Silver Shield is just one of the divisions, though due to the special identity of its commander, it’s more independent... Only the six commanders who had received a ceremony personally conducted by Tyr have the qualification to represent the entirety of the Righteous Knights Corps.
Hill couldn’t help scratching his head; he almost forgot that in the Northern Continent of Ferun, the biggest stronghold of the Righteous Knights Corps was originally the Hell Gate Fortress... yet it shattered.
And then there was Neverwinter City... yet it turned hostile.
Tyr’s believers looked around bewilderedly, there were many cities on the Northern Continent welcoming their settlement, but the cities they had their eyes on already had their own faith... When they moved there, it was almost a provocation.
Tyr’s believers certainly weren’t afraid to fight for Tyr... yet Tyr himself was a good-natured elder, steadfastly staying on the path of justice... How could a Tyr like that ever agree to his loyal followers starting a faith war?
So in the end, it’s Hill’s territory under his half-elf rule that suited them best... Lord of Agleya didn’t care at all about the expansion of the Tyr Temple in his domain; even with tens of thousands more, he didn’t find anything needing defense.
The presence of the Undead Tribe, to some degree, gave Hill the courage to embrace everything; it’s just his stance on Orderly Good that prevented Agleya from expanding wantonly.
What’s most important is... for the first time, Tyr’s Paladins could bring their families to settle in the same city, while many lords welcomed Tyr’s Paladins, even priests... they didn’t welcome their family members who were also Tyr’s believers.
When Hill first heard the complaints of those Paladins, he quickly understood the reason: The Paladins wouldn’t roam the market daily shopping, and actually didn’t have much contact with the commoners.
But their families could... Yet, how many territories dared to let Tyr’s believers wander freely in their civilian areas?
If Neverwinter City hadn’t been without a king at that time, it wouldn’t have let the Tyr Temple bring so many families... And then when the king ascended and all the Great Nobility took their places, wouldn’t the Paladins’ families feel excluded?
But Lynn of Agleya never rejected their requests to bring families, so it truly is the best home Tyr’s believers can find.
Yet, their self-proclaimed allies, long-standing battle companions, Temple of Heim, carried out actions that made them incredibly angry.
In the view of Tyr’s believers, the actions of the Temple of Heim weren’t slapping the face of Lord Hill but were demanding to take the Temple of Heim along with them to Agleya!
As the anger hadn’t yet subsided, they discovered the secret provocations by the Temple of Heim... Only then did the Righteous Knights realize that the so-called friendship was merely their wishful thinking; the other party didn’t think that way.
That’s why Hill witnessed this scene... Under the testament of the three Chosen of Tyr, Tyr Temple and Temple of Heim parted ways, never friends again.
Hill quietly slipped back to his study, completely indifferent to the shock and disappointment of Tyr’s believers... But such an ending, it’s just like a beautiful fairy tale, isn’t it!
Rubbing his hands, Hill decided to continue his book-copying life. He had no doubt that Fran would come and see what he was doing... Alchemy experiments are a troublesome and tedious job; sometimes when you’re tired or upset, you need to go out and have a stroll.
Hill’s rooftop garden, formed under various special factors, created a unique environment, especially suitable for clearing complex emotions and calming a chaotic mind.
Fran also liked to sit there, and from there to Hill’s study, there’s just a door to push open.
Luckily, under parental oversight, Hill diligently copied books and in three days welcomed the dragon-sending team... He almost suspected these guys, halfway through, had lost the dragons, which is why they arrived so late in Agleya.
But he soon understood the delay of the Undead Tribe... These guys and these fledgling dragons, juvenile dragons, and even young dragons, must have had many interesting clashes... Otherwise, the Undead Tribe wouldn’t have transformed their carriages into cages, even offering their steeds to pull them.
Hill saw the leading ’Old Age Striking King’ and her several friends... Their white dragons were probably contracted, they must be the ones lazily wagging tails atop the tall cages—those adult dragons.
They didn’t care at all about their juniors being locked in cages, their faces full of agony, front claws gripping the bars and howling in distress, sometimes even using their long tails to slap a little dragon howling too loudly.
Hill silently shrank his head back; someone capable of doing such a thing could only be the Striking King with a cold, stern face riding a wolverine.
