607: Chapter 405: Hill was actually ambushed!
The small, radiant box unfolded rapidly in front of Hill, becoming a three-dimensional star map that was about twenty square meters in size and over two meters tall.
Only then did he understand why ‘Perfect Bald’ had stressed the need for a sufficiently large space when he gave it to him.
In this small space, connected by high and low silver channels were six differently colored star systems, each with its own nebula containing an array of stars, the most conspicuous of which were those orbiting planets on various trajectories.
Hill’s eyes immediately turned to the starting point, where under the illumination of an orange-red shining star, the slowly rotating blue planet stirred something rare within his heart.
With a light touch of his hand on the beautiful blue planet, it transformed directly into a twenty square meter world map, covering the entire star chart.
Eight small spaceships quickly flew out from the alchemy box, landing on the far left side of the map, atop the prominently labeled words “Start Here”.
Seeing the familiar continents and oceans, Hill cautiously picked up one of the ships, modeled after William’s flagship, which was very familiar to him.
Several blurry cartoon-like figures emerged on the ship, each topped with a number.
Hill thought for a moment, then said the number “1”, and sure enough, the little boy with the number 1 walked out and landed on the deck of the King’s Ship, which now displayed the words “Captain Jack”.
Hill chuckled as he watched a wheel appear in front of the small boy; the helm he controlled turned out to be a large spinning wheel.
Experimenting with it, he realized it was a kind of Monopoly-style virtual life game, just slightly altered.
One could manage 8 ships at the same time, which wasn’t inconvenient for someone like Hill who could only play alone.
Aside from the Solar System, the other star systems were likely the fruits of Earth’s venture into the space age.
Hill tried each one, discovering not all systems contained just one habitable planet, such as the University Town’s system, which was larger and boasted five planets suitable for habitation.
Hill also touched other planets in the Solar System but found they were only marked as experimental bases, unsuitable for habitation and not available for purchase.
Although Hill found it interesting, that was because he was a bit curious about Earth’s future; the alchemy technology of the toy box was in fact quite crude.
Yet, he was curious to know how the projections of these visible cartoon figures were created, seemingly by an interesting method of optical reflection, and he wondered what kind of crystals or gemstones were used.
As for the power source of the toy box, it was actually attributeless crystals substituting for batteries, which Hill knew how to make.
The reason he hadn’t done it before was that, for a high-level mage, such a small amount of electricity wasn’t really useful.
The existence of the alchemy workshop made him completely abandon the idea of generating electricity.
A crystal stone provided too little power, and the cost of utilizing a magic array would be much greater than the consumption of the alchemy workshop.
In a fantasy world, it’s difficult to develop a stable power source with physical means, not because it can’t be made, but because if made, it would turn into electric sparks due to elemental fluctuations in the environment.
Elemental crystals are expensive, yet they have become the only source of energy precisely because they are stable enough.
Embraced by the alchemy toy box, Hill paid no attention to the changes brewing outside.
In fact, he was waiting for the entry of others.
This world could no longer be kept secret on the continent of Ferun, and perhaps other worlds already knew about it, especially since the Star Gate linked to the Stellar Realm had been opened.
Mages, as well as the followers of various deities, would not give up the chance to come to this world to study Deities.
Mages wanted to see if they could gain some knowledge related to deities, as on the continent of Ferun, mages always harbored a subtle opposition towards them.
As for the followers of deities, it was even more normal for them to first eliminate any false gods insulting their own, then see if the eternal enemy of their Main God revealed any weaknesses.
But to the Undead Tribe, they were not quite in the sights of these powerful beings.
Although strong, they were being pulled by invisible strings.
No matter how fierce they appeared, as long as they didn’t provoke the World Tree and Coron, the kind-hearted deities wouldn’t trap people arbitrarily.
Real deities aren’t afraid of those fake 20th-level legends, just as their followers wouldn’t fear venturing into this world to fight for their gods.
As for demons or devils, they don’t actually fear the Undead either.
The Abyss and Hell could effortlessly produce billions.
Demons and devils wouldn’t bother fighting with them unless the Undead overstepped the boundaries of the Abyss and Hell.
Even chaotic and evil demons won’t engage in acts without any benefits.
The real struggle, actually, was at the very top.
If they suppressed Coron and the World Tree, the Undead wouldn’t appear in the worlds they sought to claim.
Hill was well aware of all this, so he seized every opportunity to increase his strength.
This world held great significance for him as it finally allowed him to understand the extent of his power clearly.
The vague legends had now been replaced with a precise level distinction.
After careful tests, Hill confirmed that he had become a 22nd-level powerhouse.
Indeed, the hard work he put in at the World’s End over those years hadn’t been in vain.
Hill’s pleasant days of training ended with the sweeping cold wave from the North.
The Goddess of Winter, who had been squatting in the Arctic Circle brooding over penguin eggs, had stormed directly over!
Carrying an endless chill and draped in white fur, her pale and towering figure arrived straight at the borders of Hill’s domain.
The Goddess of Winter made her intentions clear upon arrival, “Hand over the Ring of Winter!
It belongs to me!”
Hill stood on the top of the Magic Tower, his expression grim.
Although he didn’t know who told her he possessed the ice divine artifact, he certainly wasn’t afraid of this false god.
Even if the Winter Maiden herself had come, Hill in the Magic Tower wouldn’t be intimidated.
Hill coldly took out the Ring of Winter from his pendant, after realizing that the Magic Tower he was in was not far from the Goddess of Winter’s domain, he had kept the artifact hidden away.
So, how did the Goddess of Winter, who always hides on the coldest ice mountain, find out about Hill having the Ring of Winter?
Had some outsiders already arrived?
Or has that shadowy figure behind the scenes got some connections with the devil?
List floated beside Hill, having activated all the defenses of his domain.
Although Hill didn’t think the Goddess of Winter would dare to come out from the Arctic Circle, with his usual caution, he had certainly made every preparation.
The floating Goddess of Winter, receiving no response, bluntly showed a mocking face, “No need to wait!”
“That bunch of the Undead Tribe won’t be able to save you!”
“That’s five powerful deities blocking them, even the location of their Star Gate is being visited by eight deities!”
“They dare to call themselves undead, let’s see if they can still live after being killed a few hundred times!”
“You can die in peace!”
“Even the slightly less powerful gods have joined the massacre!
Those Undead scattered around every corner won’t have a chance to escape!”
“Do you really think we’re foolish enough to let those cold-blooded bastards be individually targeted and destroyed?”
“Even if those hypocritical fools of the Kind Alignment don’t want to get involved, the remaining gods are still more than enough to completely drive them out of Felunryel!”
The arrogant Goddess of Winter raised her hands, “Even though there’s only half a month of winter left, dealing with a Legendary Mage like you is not beyond me!”
Before her words fell, the various ice puppets she summoned from the snow blew up into a burst of rainbow light.
Apparently, the Undead Tribe had set the intruding enemies as the Goddess of Winter, and most of the traps turned into red flames.
The thick snow melted directly into slush.
Hill clicked his tongue lightly; he knew the Undead Tribe had laid many traps around his domain, but he didn’t know they would fill up an entire area of a kilometer radius.
And the only safe path wasn’t even a straight line; Hill had to admire how they managed to avoid their own traps for the better part of a month.
Hill wouldn’t assume that with danger markings, the Undead Tribe wouldn’t walk over them, curious about the potency of the traps.
There certainly was no shortage of such individuals.
It could only mean someone managed it very well, no wonder he always felt like management from various families was almost a daily occurrence.
The feeling of being protected was really nice!
Hill put on the Ring of Winter and extended his hand with a smile, “You can see the effect of the Ring of Winter first.”
Most of the time, the ability of the Ring of Winter to change the weather was used to turn it into a snowy day, to complement its inherent ice spells.
But in fact, it could change any weather, including bright sunshine.
Although the Goddess of Winter came fiercely, a false god is still a false god.
The Ring of Winter, as a divine artifact, easily seized control of the weather.
Outside Hill’s Magic Tower, double layers of golden crystal had already been installed.
Since his contact with the Undead Tribe revealed that he could no longer hide his identity, Hill was of course not stingy with the materials.
But Hill initially thought it would be some Evil God attacking him.
That’s why he used these Holy Series materials.
The golden crystals reflected light under the bright sun above, sending a beam of golden light straight towards the Goddess of Winter.
Hill looked down at the white cat who placed its paw on the crystal ball controlling the Magic Tower and couldn’t help but unleash a killer move.
For Alice, her only attack skill was this Strike Evil.
But it’s not about the number of moves, as long as they are effective.
Not many of the Evil Faction could withstand this move, and the Goddess of Winter didn’t have the capital to do so.
What surprised Hill more was the focus of Alice’s attack.
The face of the Goddess of Winter was directly burned through by the Holy Light.
So it is true, being too big is not always good; such a large face is too easy to aim at!
Hill, covering his ears from the shrill screams outside, smiled and told Alice who looked up at him, “Well done!”
