Chapter 291 Two Stone Coffins

Rou Yi's words startled Fatty and me.

When Fatty and I were observing the greenish-blue stone platform, our gazes were focused on the sides, and we hadn't noticed what was happening on top.

The flat surface of the platform rippled like water, and the undulations became more and more obvious. Something was definitely rising from below.

Before long, two dark, rectangular boxes appeared on the platform.

The rectangular boxes were completely black, and the material was completely different from the greenish-blue stone platform.

Fatty suddenly remembered and said, "Damn, aren't these the stone coffins we saw in the desert before? How come there are two identical ones here!"

Fatty's reminder was right on the mark!

These two stone coffins looked exactly like the one we had seen in the desert.

"Hey, but something's strange!" Fatty walked around the greenish-blue stone platform. "Look, there's a stone coffin in the middle of the platform, and another one on the right, but the left side is empty. Funerals are supposed to be symmetrical, so why is it like this here?"

Fatty had only taken a cursory glance and noticed the placement, but I had examined the texture and patterns on each coffin more closely.

I said to Fatty and the others, "The stone coffin in the middle is made of a more exquisite stone than the one next to it. Look closely, the middle coffin seems to be made of some kind of black jade, while the one next to it is just stone. You can tell which is more important from this alone."

Then, I pointed to one end of the middle coffin and continued, "Look closely here. From here, all the way to the other side of the coffin lid, there are subtle traces of carving."

When Fatty heard this, he immediately rushed to the spot I was pointing at, peered at it carefully, and then compared it with the same spot on the stone coffin next to it.

"Young Master, you really have a keen eye. You're right, it's true!"

I said to Fatty, "I have a bold idea."

Fatty immediately asked, "What idea? Tell me quickly, stop being so mysterious!"

I pointed to the empty space on the stone platform and replied, "Do you remember the black stone coffin we saw in the desert? I guess that coffin might have originally been in this spot, but it was sent to the desert for some reason."

Rou Yi continued, "I think Young Master's words make a lot of sense. Fatty, do you remember the quicksand we saw in the ancient underground city in the desert? If there is a similar substance to 'quicksand' under the Mountains of Madness, then the black stone coffin we saw in the desert could really have come from here."

But the next second, Dodge denied Rou Yi's statement, "Does quicksand really have that kind of power? You have to know that the stone coffin we saw in the desert must have weighed at least a ton or two. Even if the quicksand could send the stone coffin out, the stone coffin would only sink. How could it reach the surface of the desert?"

Dodge was right, but he overlooked one thing: you can't use the rules of the real world to think about things related to meteorites.

I said to Dodge, "Actually, that's not necessarily true. Look at the Red Sea and those strange creatures we saw when we passed through that corridor, as well as the characteristics of the Red Sea. These are all things that violate the physics and biology of our real world. You can't understand them with ordinary thinking."

Fatty's head was spinning. He quickly stopped the debate between me and Dodge. "Alright, you guys, stop arguing. It's not going to lead anywhere. Practice is the only standard for testing truth. We'll know what's going on as soon as we open the coffin."

Fatty could be cowardly as hell sometimes, but other times he was curious about everything.

I thought to myself, opening the coffin is possible, but this is not the desert. First, we don't have such professional tools. We basically lost our engineer shovels in the desert, and now we only have non-professional equipment like hunting knives. Second, we don't have camels to help. Just with our strength, I doubt we can even pry open a crack in the coffin lid. https:/

I looked at Fatty with a wry smile and asked, "This stone coffin lid is very heavy, you know. Are you sure we can open it with just the few of us?"

Fatty patted his chest and said, "Let's try it! We'll talk about it if we can't open it!"

Fatty was a man of action. As he spoke, he had already started rolling up his sleeves, preparing to start. He called out to us, "Young Master, Dodge, Rou Yi, Jennifer, don't just stand there, come on, lend a hand and help me push this coffin lid."

As he spoke, Fatty's hands were already on the coffin lid of the stone coffin that was identical to the one found in the desert.

We also followed Fatty's example, rolled up our sleeves, and prepared to help Fatty open the coffin.

But just as we weren't ready, Fatty gently pushed, and the stone coffin lid fell down, hitting the greenish-blue stone platform.

But the stone platform was like water. As soon as the coffin lid touched the flat surface of the stone platform, it slowly sank into the stone platform until it completely disappeared.
