Chapter 837: Chapter 837: Enchanting Little Fox Monster vs. Justice-Obsessed Female Taoist (Part 13)
After finishing his evening lessons, Yuan Xiu tidied everything up and stepped outside.
The Lotus Platform Sect was very quiet at night. The Buddhist disciples had always maintained a good routine, and most of them were already preparing to rest at this time.
Yuan Xiu came to the door of his master, Master Jing Ming.
“Master.”
The door was opened, and Yuan Xiu walked in.
Master Jing Ming was sitting cross-legged on a cushion, with another cushion in front of him.
Yuan Xiu walked forward and sat down.
“Master, can I shave my head now?” Yuan Xiu didn’t know how many times he’d asked this question.
Master Jing Ming was slender and his face was exceptionally serene.
He looked lovingly at this young disciple, who was both his most satisfactory and worrisome disciple.
“Yuan Xiu, I told you back then that you were originally not suited for Buddhist cultivation. On you are emotional roots of countless lifetimes, and in each lifetime, there is surely someone whom you fall deeply in love with waiting for you. Entering our Buddhism isn’t necessarily a good thing for you.”
Yuan Xiu’s expression remained unchanged: “But Master, all these years, I’ve never met anyone who moved my heart.”
Master Jing Ming said, “You have a natural wisdom and astonishing talent, so I couldn’t bear to see such talent go to waste and brought you to the Lotus Platform Sect. But, I can’t allow you to shave your head.”
Yuan Xiu widened his eyes to look at him.
Master Jing Ming sighed, “If you shave your head, then in the future, you truly have to be free of all worldly desires and sever all mortal ties. Our Buddhism values fate, we cannot be the villain who ruins people’s destinies.”
Yuan Xiu let out a light laugh: “Only you, Master, only the Lotus Platform Sect, would say this to me.”
If it were any other Buddhist sect, seeing his talent as a Buddhist Disciple, they would likely have immediately brought him back to the sect, shaved his head, ordained him, making him a monk dedicated wholly to serving Buddha from then on.
Master Jing Ming put his hands together and uttered a “Amitabha”: “Different paths lead to different strategies; my Lotus Platform Sect has its own principles.”
Yuan Xiu also softly recited a Buddhist mantra, seeing that his master had already closed his eyes, he bowed his head and withdrew.
It was only after Yuan Xiu left that Master Jing Ming opened his tightly shut eyes.
He looked somewhat worriedly in the direction his disciple had left, murmuring: “Not only do you carry emotional roots from past lifetimes, but in this lifetime, I’m afraid there will also be a trial of love…”
The next day, when Gu Shengyin arrived at the Lotus Platform Sect, she didn’t notice anything different about Yuan Xiu.
As usual, she lay beside him, watching him meditate, chant scriptures, and recite Buddhist teachings.
To Gu Shengyin, these things seemed incredibly dull, and she wondered how he managed to chant continuously every day.
However, Gu Shengyin openly tilted her head to admire Yuan Xiu’s delicate and gentle profile: How good-looking her little monk was, indeed he looked better with his hair kept.
Although she didn’t know why Yuan Xiu hadn’t shaved his head, Gu Shengyin was pleased with this: Not shaving his head meant he wasn’t truly a disciple of Buddhism, so getting involved in love wouldn’t count as breaking vows.
When Yuan Xiu turned his head, he saw the Little Fox staring intently at him.
He wondered what he looked like in the world of a fox? He laughed at his curious thought.
But then, he was captivated by those bright green eyes.
What beautiful eyes, and one wonders what Qing Bo will look like after shape-shifting? A woman with such lovely eyes is surely a beautiful lady, right?
