Chapter 845: Chapter 844: Ah Jiu’s Indulgence

After resting for two days, the team set off again, bringing along the newly purchased hands, with both carriages and horses, grandeurly heading towards Changan once more.

Wufu watched Ah Jiu and Yan Er play a game of chess out of sheer boredom. It wasn’t long before she found it uninteresting, so she lifted the curtain of the carriage window and lay on the window to watch Su Luo and others riding horses outside, feeling an itch in her heart.

She didn’t enjoy sitting in the carriage; it was both bumpy and dull.

After the recent hustle and bustle, it was now early spring in March. The ice and snow had melted, all things were revived, and with the sunny weather, it was truly an excellent day for horseback riding.

"I want to go out and ride." With that thought, Wufu mentioned it to Ah Jiu and the others, and without waiting for a response, she nimbly climbed out through the carriage window.

Ah Jiu paused with a chess piece in hand, shook his head with a smile, and calmly placed the chess piece in position.

Yan Er glanced at the shaking curtain and looked at Ah Jiu, saying, "You seem to be quite accustomed to this."

Ah Jiu picked up another chess piece without looking at him, replying, "This is her true nature; why should I forcibly change it? If I alter it, she wouldn’t be herself anymore."

"In the Imperial Family, I’m afraid such a nature is not allowed," Yan Er remarked coolly.

Ah Jiu furrowed his brows and looked at him.

Yan Er shrugged with a smirk.

Ah Jiu snorted coldly, "I don’t want to; who could force me into a bridal chamber, or marry on my behalf?"

Yan Er choked and gave a look that said, "You win."

Outside the carriage, Wufu snatched a guard’s horse and said to Su Luo, "No one has gone ahead to set up camp yet?"

Su Luo shook his head with a smile.

"I’ll go." Wufu grinned, and with a flick of her whip, the horse galloped forward swiftly.

She gave a crisp command and shot out like an arrow, while from inside the carriage came the sound of Ah Jiu sending someone to follow.

Su Luo raised a hand, and two or three guards, along with Jadeite, quickly chased after her.

An hour later, when Ah Jiu and the others caught up with Wufu and the group, a guard was already waiting there.

"Where is the lady?"

"The lady went hunting. There she comes." The guard pointed deeper into the forest, where several people emerged, and it was Wufu and her group.

Su Luo remarked, "Looks like everyone will have a feast today; set up camp and start cooking."

Wufu’s group could be seen holding various game in their hands, and one guard was even carrying a boar.

Ah Jiu took a warm handkerchief from Yuan Ye and walked towards Wufu. Seeing her hand the wild chicken to a waiting guard, he said, "Did you enjoy yourself?"

It was unclear whether it was due to the horseback riding or a jaunt through the depths of the forest, but her face was flushed, and there was even a thin layer of sweat on her forehead, making her look extremely healthy.

This person before them, having already survived a water bandit fight and a sea storm, was still so energetic, truly admirable.

Wufu casually accepted the handkerchief he handed over, wiped her face, and said with a smile, "I had a great time; riding is much more comfortable."

"Aren’t you tired?" Ah Jiu pulled her to sit down, saying, "It’s comfortable now after a short ride, but if you were to ride for a day and night in a fast march, would you still find it comfortable?"

Despite his words, his eyes were filled with indulgence and affection.

Yuan Ye and the others handed over tea, and Ah Jiu passed a cup to her.

Wufu gulped it down and said with a laugh, "That’s why it’s so rare."

Ah Jiu shook his head helplessly.

Wufu saw Jin Lan being helped out by Purple Jade and several maidservants at the back of the carriage and said, "I’ll go take a look."
