Chapter 3459: Inter-Clan Cooperation
"...And thus we would like your cooperation in tracking this anomaly down once it gets beyond our range of influence."
In a room within the mountain-hive of the Dthrivoraustrat Clan, a fly-man found himself seated opposite the projection of a member of the Lamia Clan. Her eyes were serpentine, reduced to nothing but sharp, predatory slit, while scales covered much of her body.
Her tongue was also serpentine, long and forked at the end, as they flicked up and down in the air. She donned leather, fur attire fashioned from the pelts of the giant rodents that the Lamia Clan loved to hunt in the Continent of Kiriket.
Her eyes bore deep into the eyes of the insectile man opposite her.
It was quite unusual to find a female therianthrope in such a high station. They usually occupied less powerful jobs, and many were designated exclusively for breeding and increasing their numbers.
"We are willing to cooperate." She replied with a hissing tone as her eyes shifted to the data on a little holographic three-dimensional projector on the table before her with a curious expression.
The Dthrivoraustrat Clan had sought to approach the Lamia Clan for some inter-group cooperation between different Pasupati Clans of Kiriket in finding and pursuing the anomaly that had managed to get away from them and reappear elsewhere within the Lamia Clan’s territory. Thankfully, both clans were willing and able to cooperate so that they could capture what could be a potential threat or blessing to Kiriket, depending on whether it was a hostile entity or not.
"We will deploy troops to help capture them."
An agreement had been forged between the Lamia Clan and the Dthrivoraustrat Clan, as the two cooperated with each other. One rule that the Pasupati Clans typically followed was that they would work together when it came to matters beyond the domestic matters of Kiriket. Thus, if they were threatened by outsiders, they would unite and fight together to take them down.
And an anomaly that could evade almost all the sensory systems of Kiriket was too powerful in its stealth to possibly be let go. The therianthropes took great pride in their surveillance systems. Almost every animal in Kiriket was a camera or a sensor of some kind, and quite a powerful one, too, allowing them to map out the entirety of the continent.
They took pride in knowing that not a single species or pathwalker in the world could set foot on their continent without them knowing everything there was to know about it.
An anomaly that could circumvent almost all except for one sensory system was too dangerous to be left alone, forming the basis of cooperation even between clans that did not have much to do with each other.
Far away in the territory of the Lamia Clan, Rui quickly became aware of the cooperation between the snakes and the flies.
"Damn... not only are they themselves following us but they are also sending the serpents against."
The two of them ran through what felt like an endless mangrove, sky-walking above them, marsh because of how much it would slow them down. Rui’s powerful senses could detect powerful giant pythons moving in their direction.
"The more territories we cross, the likelier it is that we will be dealing with more and more pursuers." Amare realized. "That means we will have to deal with a huge number of parties following in out trail. And they will eventually catch up to us because our stealth is slowing us down."
Rui nodded with a serious expression. "I need to find a solution to being tracked quickly."
He considered teleporting away underwater, where there couldn’t possibly be any flies. But it was powerful that there were creatures like that underwater.
His stealth technique was not suited for underwater environments, making it rather difficult for him to remain hidden underwater. They would likely draw the attention of predators deep in the water.
He also considered teleporting them high in the sky, which should also have been quite far away from any of the flies in their environment that were able to track them.
"If we go high, then we risk being exposed by satellites.
That satellites of the true world were extremely powerful, able to detect even the smallest objects with great detail and high resolution. It was why the true world had invented anti-satellite surveillance technology, which prevented that from happening.
Right now, Rui was benefiting from that technology as well, as it hid him along with everything else. However, if he increased his elevation too much, then it was quite likely that the satellites of the Pasupati Clans of Kiriket would detect him. While he was confident in his stealth, he didn’t think it was reliable against supermassive surveillance telescopes hovering above Gaia in space, designed for the sole purpose of detecting stuff that could not be detected by other means.
That wasn’t a viable option for them to escape their pursuers either.
"They’re gaining on us." Amare’s amber eyes sharpened as she and Rui ran through the air as fast as they could without compromising their stealth. "Rui, we really should fight back and kill all of them if we have no choice. It is not ideal, but we shouldn’t avoid it just because it isn’t ideal.
"Not yet." Rui closed his eyes as he activated his Forge of Creation and Megamind. "I’ll figure something out."
The powerful forge surged with immense cognition in his Martial Mind as he pushed his mind to the limit to create a technique that could help him get rid of the surveillance on him. He had already done this before, but now he had much greater data and information, and was willing to use Megamind for the matter to heighten the precision and accuracy.
Rui was rarely pushed to this extreme, where he simply didn’t have any technique that could be of any help, firing up his competitive spirit as his consciousness processed all the information it needed to get him the outcome that he desired.
