Chapter 1391: Chapter 1396: I Want to Go Home 2
With that, she quickly left.
Bai Ruiqing’s heartbeat seemed to have completely stopped. It took him a long time to recover his breath. When he turned around, Bai Qianqian was already gone.
Bai Ruiqing suddenly broke into a laugh. It began as a low chuckle, then turned into a loud guffaw until he was crying from laughter.
The passing students all gave him curious glances and whispered amongst themselves.
“What are you looking at? Get lost!” Bai Ruiqing roared like a madman.
He ran out of the campus and got into his car. He drove away.
…
On the weekend evening, Bai Jingqing drove home. His mother had especially asked him to come home for dinner tonight.
Bai Jingqing didn’t want his relationship with his family to deteriorate any further. Normally, when his mother called him, he would always come back.
Bai Jingqing parked the car outside the villa. He was to return to the hospital later that night.
As he got out of the car and closed the door, his cellphone rang. He picked up the phone to answer the call, and as he walked around the front of the car towards the main gate, another car came hurtling towards him.
The speed of the car was too fast. Bai Jingqing didn’t have a chance to dodge. His body was flung into the air with the impact.
As Bai Jingqing flew through the air, it seemed as if a flash of white light crossed his vision. In front of him was Bai Qianqian’s cute and delicate face, smiling at him.
Bai Jingqing reached out to grab Bai Qianqian’s hand, but in the end, he caught nothing…
With a loud “bang”, Bai Jingqing’s body hit the ground hard, falling in front of the car which then ran over him again…
Blood flowed continuously from his body, staining the ground red. Bai Jingqing was gushing blood from his mouth while staring ahead. Bai Qianqian was still in front of him. He suddenly felt a deep regret. There were so many things that he still wanted to do with Bai Qianqian.
He hadn’t proposed to her yet, hadn’t taken wedding photos with her, and they didn’t have a baby of their own…
In the end, Bai Jingqing sank into endless darkness…
The Bai family ran out when they heard the noise. Bai Ruiqing was at the front. His legs felt weak at the sight of his heavily wounded brother lying in a pool of blood.
The blood had almost dyed the ground red.
The mother was frightened out of her wits, the father fainted from high blood pressure, and the Bai family’s servants ran out.
“What are you all standing around for? Call an ambulance!” Bai Ruiqing yelled.
The Bai household was in utter chaos.
…
Beiming Han had just returned home. He, Gu Qingxin, and Xiao Yi were about to have dinner.
Gu Qingxin kept fluttering her large eyes at him expectantly. Beiming Han knew that she was waiting for him to name their child.
But he’d sat without saying a word all day, his mind blank. He hadn’t come up with a single name.
With no other option, Beiming Han played dumb and kept his head down, eating his meal.
Gu Qingxin felt somewhat disappointed. She comforted herself, saying that naming took time. Perhaps, she was too anxious. She should give him some more time.
Beiming Han’s phone suddenly rang. He looked at the number on his phone, his eyelid twitching involuntarily.
Before he could even answer the call, Ye Qi hurriedly rushed in, his expression lacking its usual resolve.
This kind of Ye Qi was very rare.
Beiming Han looked at him, asking, “What happened?”
“Doctor Bai was mowed down right outside his home, and then he was run over again. His condition is extremely critical. The hospital is doing their best… but it doesn’t look good…”
Ye Qi’s breath was uneven. Gu Qingxin dropped her chopsticks onto the table, feeling a sudden tightness in her chest.
