Chapter 208: Thirty-Six Stratagems

In Hafezo Siming’s bewildered gaze, Jing Mingqiu shifted the topic, “Mr. President, it is indeed difficult to deal with the enemy’s fighter jets. But why must we wait to be bombed at home?”

“You? Professor Jing, you mean…” Hafezo Siming’s eyes lit up.

Jing Mingqiu nodded gently, “Yes, exactly as you guessed. The enemy’s planes are currently parked at the airport on the border of Afqhan. We can take the initiative and destroy them all before they take off.”

“Including those thousand tanks, we can also deal with them during this opportunity. You must know, no matter how advanced the enemy’s planes and tanks are, without human control, they are just scrap metal!”

“But,” Hafezo Siming hesitated, pointing to the sky, “Professor Jing, the United States constantly monitors us with satellites, and their forward bases must be surrounded by sentries. How can we sneak attack?”

Jing Mingqiu smiled subtly, raised his arm, and snapped his fingers, “That’s easy. We can use an old tactic our martyrs used.”

“Since they monitor us from above via satellites, why don’t we go underground? If I remember correctly, the auxiliary mechs provided to Afqhan include one hundred thousand engineering mechs. If they all work together, they can dig from the capital of Afqhan to the enemy’s forward base in at most a week.”

Upon hearing Jing Mingqiu’s plan, Hafezo Siming, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, remembered something very important, and his brows furrowed again.

“Professor Jing, your plan is indeed very brilliant. However, the United States has already conducted a pre-war parade and is about to launch a full-scale offensive. They won’t give us time to dig tunnels?”

“This is indeed a bit troublesome,” Jing Mingqiu paused, his thoughts racing, and he quickly thought of a solution, “But it’s not without a solution.”

“According to my investigation, the United States is very interested in the mechs our country has recently developed, especially the new auxiliary mechs I provided to the special forces. They have issued a death order to obtain one at all costs.”

“We can leverage this by using the spies the United States has planted among us to transmit some false information, thereby delaying their attack.”

“However, doing so carries significant risks. The elite soldiers acting as bait might not be able to return.”

“This?”

As Hafezo Siming hesitated, the captain of the special forces, Jonathan Enoch, stepped forward proactively, “Professor Jing, please instruct us on whatever you need us to do. For the future of Afqhan, we have long since disregarded our lives.”

“A true man!” Jing Mingqiu took a large step forward and patted Jonathan Enoch on the shoulder, “I will personally lead this operation and ensure all of you return alive.”

Jing Mingqiu did not offer platitudes like "everyone will return unharmed." War is not a child's game, and injuries are inevitable. However, he had invented the medical pod.

With the medical pod capable of regenerating severed limbs, as long as one was not killed instantly, the rest was merely a few days of rest.

Following Jonathan Enoch’s commitment, the plan officially began.

Spies planted by the United States in Afqhan, either willingly or unwillingly, began transmitting the same intelligence through various means.

At the U.S. military base on the border of Afqhan, the current U.S. frontline commander, Anderson Curley, looked at the more than twenty secret reports piled on his desk, all in different handwriting, and could no longer control his emotions, bursting into laughter.

“Hahahaha, China is truly too arrogant! In three days, Jing Mingqiu will personally lead a team to sneak attack the U.S. base and capture the U.S. commander alive.”

“That guy Jing Mingqiu, does he really think we have no way to deal with the high-tech mechs he possesses!”

“I admit, being able to directly withstand a nuclear blast, the iron shell you wear is indeed impressive. But that is, after all, only a micro-nuclear blast, not even one ten-thousandth the power of the ‘Little Boy’ we dropped on Sakura Country back then.”

“Furthermore, we have researched many secret weapons to counter China’s mechs during these days. If you dare to come, you will not be able to return.”

“Um, Your Excellency, Commander,” the deputy of Anderson Curley spoke cautiously, “Our spies planted in Afqhan are in multiple positions, and their statuses vary. If China is indeed preparing a sneak attack, they would strictly maintain secrecy.”

“By all accounts, it’s impossible for so many spies to receive this message! Commander, I suspect there’s a trap!”

Anderson Curley waved his hand, displaying an incredibly confident expression, “You’re overthinking it. The reason this plan is known to the public is because Jing Mingqiu intends to boost Afqhan’s morale with it.”

“You must understand, compared to a successful sneak attack, being able to achieve strategic objectives while the enemy is prepared and on high alert, and treating their resistance as nothing, is even more shocking and can raise the morale of Afqhan’s army and civilians.”

“Is that so?” The adjutant could hardly believe his ears, “We have two hundred top fighter jets, a thousand main battle tanks, and three hundred thousand heavily armed soldiers. For Jing Mingqiu to inform us in advance before a sneak attack, isn’t that too arrogant?”

Anderson Curley recalled Jing Mingqiu’s actions since his debut, a grim killing intent flashing in his eyes, “Heh! Arrogant? Jing Mingqiu, relying on China as his backing, has always been this arrogant!”

“Adjutant, issue my order. We will hold a party tomorrow night. All soldiers will celebrate together with unlimited food and drink, including the sentries on duty. Let them participate as well!”

Anderson Curley put down “The Thirty-Six Stratagems” in his hand and looked towards the direction of the capital of Afqhan, his eyes narrowed as if he were staring at Jing Mingqiu.

“Jing Mingqiu, you want to sneak attack, right? Then I will help you create the best opportunity. I wonder if you dare to come…”

On the other side, Jing Mingqiu learned of Anderson Curley’s latest military order through Chinese spies embedded within the U.S. forces, and his eyebrows rose.

“Interesting? An empty fort strategy combined with luring the enemy into a trap! I didn’t expect the United States to know how to use the Thirty-Six Stratagems. However, these were all played by our ancestors. Using them against me is purely like showing off craftsmanship before Lu Ban!”

“Professor Jing,” Hafezo Siming was a bit confused, “What do you mean?”

Jing Mingqiu smiled and explained, “After learning of our planned sneak attack, the United States deliberately acts as if they are lowering their guard. If we suspect a trap and dare not go, we will have fallen for the empty fort strategy, and all our previous efforts will be in vain.”

“If we didn’t guess this and thought the United States was arrogant and acted prematurely, we would surely fall into their other ambushes…”

After hearing Jing Mingqiu’s explanation, Hafezo Siming realized the sinister intentions of the United States and broke out in a cold sweat, “Professor Jing, since there is a trap here, should we still go?”
