Chapter 433: Chapter 343: Baffling
After hanging up the phone, Zhou Yun was in shock for a long time.
Liu Yuqian is not a very famous celebrity, but she has a recognized name in the entertainment industry.
In the entertainment industry, the exposure of a female celebrity’s romance always ranks first in terms of public interest.
Even if you don’t know this celebrity, the mere mention of a romance exposure would make you click on it and then, you recognize a new celebrity.
Perhaps it’s a natural gossip gene present in humans, especially eager in prying into other people’s romantic relationships.
The photo features two people, both of whom are quite familiar to those in the "Warm Little Horse" crew, but to the public, only one is a familiar face, the other, just a handsome stranger.
Many people’s first reaction might be that this handsome young man should be an actor from "Warm Little Horse," a natural assumption based on his appearance.
However, the exposure clearly stated that this young man was just a photography assistant on "Warm Little Horse."
The photo was obviously taken secretly, quite blurry, but it clearly captured two people holding each other, intimately forehead to forehead.
Zhou Yun didn’t even know how to describe her emotions upon seeing this photo.
Shocked.
Astonished.
For a moment, she thought she had recognized the wrong person.
The person in the photo wasn’t Liu Yuqian, but Meng Ran.
But after checking again and again, it was indeed Liu Yuqian.
As for Liu Yuqian, she had already returned to her resting room.
The crew was all teasing Xu Caisheng, joking about how fast he moved, securing Liu Yuqian for himself.
Zhou Yun didn’t join in, just sitting on her chair watching him.
Xu Caisheng was surrounded by people, smiling awkwardly with his head down, a forced smile on his face.
It should be forced.
Zhou Yun wondered if Meng Ran knew about this news. What would Meng Ran be feeling?
Zheng Xiaojue was the only person on set who understood Zhou Yun’s emotions, as Zheng Xiaojue also knew about Xu Caisheng and Meng Ran’s affairs. From the current situation, it was obvious that Xu Caisheng was "playing both sides." However, it was still unclear whether Liu Yuqian and Meng Ran knew about each other previously.
At least Meng Ran probably didn’t know. Zhou Yun didn’t think Meng Ran was someone willing to share her boyfriend with another woman.
As for Liu Yuqian...
Zhou Yun remembered a recent evening when she was walking and accidentally overheard Liu Yuqian whispering with someone; she thought that person was Shen Yao, and she thought Shen Yao really betrayed Yu Mengyao.
Now thinking about it, that person was actually Xu Caisheng.
Zhou Yun felt both embarrassed and uneasy, thankful that she only mentioned this to Zhou Lan and Song Chi, otherwise, it would have caused irreversible consequences.
Shen Yao walked over with a light expression, still unaware that a storm was brewing in his crew.
"Why are you sitting here alone? Where’s Yuqian?" asked Shen Yao.
Zhou Yun replied, "She went to the resting room, I guess."
Shen Yao smiled and asked, "Is she feeling shy?"
Zhou Yun didn’t know how to respond.
She just maintained a smile, hesitated for a moment, and asked, "Brother Shen, didn’t your wife come today?"
Shen Yao said, "Your sister-in-law will come over in a while."
"Oh," Zhou Yun smiled slightly, thinking to herself that Yu Mengyao would probably be relieved if she saw this news.
"I really didn’t expect this, these two young people matched up quietly." Shen Yao had an elder’s gossipy expression as if enjoying the drama.
Zhou Yun thought to herself, just keep laughing, wait until Meng Ran and Liu Yuqian start fighting, see how you’re going to smooth things over then.
"I’ll go check on Yuqian." Zhou Yun stood up.
She went to Liu Yuqian’s dressing room and was about to knock when she suddenly heard Liu Yuqian yelling from inside: "...How would I know who took the photos! It must be someone from the crew, find this person for me!"
Zhou Yun’s hand, ready to knock, froze mid-air.
"How would we know who took the photos," someone inside was trying to soothe Liu Yuqian, "nobody knew you were with him, you exposed yourselves without any precautions."
Liu Yuqian: "I was never with him! I only met with him twice, and now because of this, the whole world thinks he’s my boyfriend. What am I supposed to do!"
Zhou Yun stared in shock.
She thought, she better leave, the conversation inside isn’t something she should listen to.
She tiptoed away, turned the corner, and saw Meng Ran pacing back and forth by herself, her hand clenched tight, pressed against her abdomen, seemingly wrestling with something.
Zhou Yun’s footsteps startled her.
Meng Ran stopped and looked toward Zhou Yun.
"Sister Xiao Yun?" Zhou Yun wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt Meng Ran’s complexion seemed a bit ashen.
Zhou Yun suddenly felt at a loss for what to do.
"I just saw the news." It was all she could manage to say.
Meng Ran gave a bitter and sorrowful smile, saying, "I saw it too."
The air around them seemed to freeze at that moment, like a dollop of cream exposed to freezing weather.
Zhou Yun asked, "Have you talked to him?"
Actually, she was referring to Xu Caisheng.
But Meng Ran misunderstood, thinking she was referring to Liu Yuqian.
"We were already on bad terms, and with this happening, I don’t even want to approach her." Meng Ran seemed to be trying to make herself smile, but it turned out more bitter, "Maybe it’s for the best, I was troubled about being openly together with him, maybe it’s a relief that we’ve broken up."
Zhou Yun wanted to say that there was really no need to console herself like that.
"It’s good that you can think that way." In the end, that’s what she said.
Meng Ran bowed to Zhou Yun, saying, "Thank you, Sister Xiao Yun."
"Hm?" Zhou Yun was surprised.
The thanks came unexpectedly, and she didn’t fully grasp why.
Meng Ran said, "It’s really been great knowing you, that’s the biggest gain I’ve had from this shoot."
Zhou Yun said, "You saying that puts a lot of pressure on me."
Their interactions on set hadn’t been much, and they weren’t close, except for that time at Butterfly.
Meng Ran said, "We’re about to finish shooting soon, I hope I can work with you again in the future."
Zhou Yun automatically responded, "There will definitely be opportunities."
Just then, her phone rang, and with a rushed smile towards Zhou Yun, she said, "Sister Xiao Yun, I need to go do my makeup."
Zhou Yun nodded, "Go ahead."
Meng Ran answered the call, turning away and speaking into the phone, "I’m coming."
Watching her retreating figure, Zhou Yun suddenly realized something – if Meng Ran couldn’t share her love for Xu Caisheng with those around her, then her current sadness and heartache, she’d probably have to deal with it all by herself.
