Chapter 677 Piao Po

The white-robed ghost messenger looked at his partner and asked in a low voice, "Old Qiu, did this kid have a grudge against you before?"

A flicker of nervousness crossed the black ghost's face, and he immediately shook his head, "No, I'm just carrying out orders from above."

Hearing this, the white-robed ghost messenger smiled, "Then this is easy to handle."

He had thought his partner had some past grievance with this kid.

He had specifically intended to teach the kid a lesson, but since there was no such thing, the matter became much simpler.

The crux of the problem was simply the lack of authorization.

The white-robed ghost messenger looked at Yu Daohan, a smile on his face, "Fellow Daoist, we were indeed in the wrong just now. How about this, you accompany the two of us to the Supernatural Affairs Bureau to get the authorization, and then we'll take your soul to the underworld. What do you say?"

Upon hearing this, Yu Daohan nodded in agreement, "Alright, I can go with you to the Supernatural Affairs Bureau."

"Then that's that..." the white-robed ghost messenger began, but was interrupted by a sound from the black-robed ghost messenger beside him, "Old Luo!"

The white-robed ghost messenger looked at his partner and could tell that he seemed to have hidden motives.

It was as if he had a desire to kill this young man.

"Old Qiu, are you hiding something from me?" the white-robed ghost messenger asked in a low voice.

A hint of nervousness appeared on the black ghost's face, but he concealed it well and replied, "No."

The white-robed ghost messenger felt something was amiss; his partner was definitely hiding something from him.

The black ghost messenger stared at the white-robed ghost messenger and began to play on their friendship, "Old Luo, don't ask so many questions. If you consider me a brother, help me take this kid down."

"This..." the white-robed ghost messenger appeared conflicted.

Yu Daohan looked at the black ghost messenger, already about sixty percent certain that this fellow was a spy for the Divine Religion.

"Sigh."

The white-robed ghost messenger sighed and reluctantly nodded, "Alright, I'll help you this time, but you have to promise me you won't kill this kid, understand?"

Seeing his partner agree to help, the black ghost messenger smiled and nodded, "Don't worry, I won't kill this kid."

Yu Daohan instinctively reached for the Kang Long Rod at his waist.

He had just gone through a fierce battle, and he could handle one ghost messenger, but two from the underworld would be quite taxing.

Zhou Fu, who had run away earlier, came back.

Yu Daohan looked at Zhou Fu running back and was bewildered, "You brat, why are you running back again?"

Zhou Fu's eyes were determined as he looked at the two ghost messengers ahead and said, "I'm back to help Master!"

Yu Daohan had intended to tell the kid to leave quickly, but seeing his resolute gaze, he paused for a moment, a smile appearing on his face, "Alright, then the two of us, master and disciple, will deal with these two ghost messengers today."

Yu Daohan subconsciously glanced at Zhou Fu and saw no trace of fear on his face, feeling gratified.

Unknowingly, this kid had grown so much.

With his current state of mind and strength, he could venture into the martial world, and Yu Daohan felt reassured.

Just as both sides were preparing to make a move, a man's voice came from the side.

"Everyone, now is the time to unite against external threats, so let's not fall out."

Both pairs of individuals turned their heads towards the direction of the voice.

They saw a man in a black suit walking towards them.

Yu Daohan carefully observed who it was.

The man was around forty years old, of medium height but not stocky, rather quite thin. His skin was sallow, and he walked with a lack of energy.

The entire person was comparable to those who used to smoke opium.

The only peculiar thing was that the aura on this person's face was very faint, almost nonexistent.

The man approached and quickly scanned both parties before introducing himself, "I am Biao Po, the director of the Supernatural Affairs Bureau for this jurisdiction."

Yu Daohan found the name somewhat familiar but couldn't recall where he had heard it. Nevertheless, he politely cupped his hands and bowed, "I am Yu Daohan, the owner of the Midnight Spirit Shop in Jiangdu."

Biao Po nodded, offering a polite smile, "So you are the renowned Master Yu of Jiangdu in the martial world today. I've heard much about you."

Yu Daohan smiled faintly without speaking. Biao Po then turned his attention to the two ghost messengers, or rather, to the black-robed ghost messenger, his tone calm and devoid of emotion.

"May I ask why the two ghost messengers are making a move here today?"

The black-robed ghost messenger said coldly, "Under orders from above, to bring down to the underworld for questioning those who have had contact with the Divine Religion."

Hearing this, Biao Po looked slightly suspicious, "When did this order come down? I wasn't aware of it."

The black-robed ghost messenger chuckled dismissively, "This is classified information. How could an official of the mortal realm know?"

"Oh, is that so."

Biao Po's lips curved upwards as he stroked his chin and murmured, "Then I'll have to ask Lord Black Impermanence, as this is no small matter. Perhaps I can be of assistance."

Upon hearing Biao Po mention Lord Black Impermanence, the black-robed ghost messenger instantly panicked.

This fellow actually knew Lord Black Impermanence!

The white-robed ghost messenger beside him also noticed his partner's flustered demeanor and sensed that something was amiss. A bad premonition surfaced in his mind.

Could this guy be lying to me? There's no secret mission at all.

The black-robed ghost messenger's panic lasted only a second before he regained his composure.

Impossible, this person absolutely cannot know Lord Black Impermanence. He must be bluffing.

Having guessed that this fellow might be bluffing, the black-robed ghost messenger's confidence grew, and he was no longer intimidated, "Of course, you're welcome to invite Lord Black Impermanence up to ask. Then you'll know if it's true or false."

Biao Po's face remained expressionless, as if he genuinely knew Black Impermanence, and said with a smile, "Very well, please the two ghost messengers wait for me at the Supernatural Affairs Bureau."

He then looked at Yu Daohan and his companion, smiling, "Then I'll trouble Master Yu to accompany me to the Supernatural Affairs Bureau as well."

"Naturally." Yu Daohan agreed, his mind still trying to recall where he had heard the name Biao Po before.

Seeing Biao Po's unwavering demeanor and confident air, the black-robed ghost messenger began to panic again.

Damn it, could this guy really know Lord Black Impermanence?

There was no secret mission from above at all.

If this fellow really invited Lord Black Impermanence, then I'm truly finished.

Seeing the panic on the black-robed ghost messenger's face, Biao Po grinned, but made no sound.

The black-robed ghost messenger grew more anxious the more he thought about it, gripping the chain in his hand tightly.

The white-robed ghost messenger beside him, however, appeared very calm. He remained silent, looking at Biao Po, but he understood perfectly.

There was a seventy percent chance this fellow was bluffing them.

Biao Po also realized that compared to this impulsive black-robed ghost messenger, the silent white-robed ghost messenger was the more difficult one to deal with.
