Da Hu covered his head in exasperation, lamenting, "How did my foolish brother take on such a disciple?"
Yu Daohen smiled faintly, patting Da Hu's shoulder. "Young people always need to go through some experiences to become independent."
Da Hu shook his head with a sigh, "If only this kid had a third, no, a tenth of your understanding, Master Yu."
Yang Ergou, overhearing this, muttered softly, "Uncle-Master, you can't even beat Master Yu."
Hearing this, Da Hu stood up, ready to make a move. "Oh, you little brat, are you trying to rebel? Today, I'll discipline you on behalf of my foolish brother."
Yu Daohen, seeing this, quickly pulled back the about-to-act Da Hu.
Yang Er quickly scrambled away, then beckoned to Zhou Fu, who had been silent all along.
Zhou Fu was bewildered, not understanding Yang Er's intentions, but he walked over nonetheless.
People are like attending a banquet; adults prefer to sit with adults, and children prefer to sit with children.
No one knew what they talked about, but soon they were chatting and laughing.
Da Hu watched the two of them, shaking his head helplessly. Ergou, that brat, was useless at everything except eating, and his only skill was boasting.
But boasting couldn't put food on the table.
Yu Daohen remained silent but noticed the scars on Zhou Fu's body.
The scars on his chest, thigh, and abdomen were particularly noticeable and deep.
Any single scar was potentially fatal.
Yu Daohen frowned slightly. These were not scars that could be caused by accidents.
Nor were they the kind of scars a novice who hadn't yet entered the martial world should have.
Having navigated the martial world for so many years, he himself didn't have as many scars as this boy.
There were only two possibilities for such a situation. One was a penchant for fighting, resorting to violence at the slightest provocation, where it was either life or death.
The other was long-term execution of extremely dangerous missions, where one's life could be lost at any moment.
But regardless of which it was, it indicated that he was a seasoned veteran of the martial world.
Zhou Fu clearly felt Yu Daohen's gaze and instinctively submerged himself further into the water.
"Oh, quite shy," Da Hu, who had also noticed Zhou Fu's scars, said to Yu Daohen. "Master Yu, your boy has been through a lot, hasn't he?"
Da Hu naturally understood what those scars signified.
"This is because your boy lacks combat experience. He still needs training. How about we add an extra three hundred pounds when he returns?" Yu Daohen said with a chuckle to Da Hu.
He didn't want to pry too much into Zhou Fu's past experiences.
The martial world was no child's play. Ruthlessness wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
As long as one didn't commit any heinous acts, being ruthless could instead make enemies keep their distance.
Da Hu stroked his chin in thought, then slowly said, "Master Yu's suggestion is good. I'll add three hundred pounds to this brat's training when we get back."
For them, the pallbearers, strength was sometimes more important than techniques.
Ordinary coffins were manageable, but for coffins with heavy corpse energy, it was difficult to lift them without significant strength, let alone carry them up the mountain.
Therefore, their special training involved running back and forth with stones on their shoulders until they reached the state where a thousand pounds felt as light as air.
Across from them, Yang Ergou was still chatting and laughing with Zhou Fu, unaware that his return to the family would be a nightmare.
Truly, trouble found him while he was at home.
In fact, Yu Daohen had been wanting to teach this brat a lesson for a long time.
During the last coffin-lifting, this brat had almost gotten them all killed.
The four of them enjoyed soaking in the hot spring. Once they had soaked enough, Yu Daohen finally asked about the purpose of his summons. "Brother Da Hu, is there some troublesome matter that required me to come?"
Seeing that Yu Daohen had brought it up, Da Hu no longer concealed anything and nodded. "I called for Master Yu because there's a very tricky matter."
Upon hearing this, Yu Daohen guessed that it was likely another difficult coffin they had received. "Have you received another troublesome coffin?"
Da Hu shook his head helplessly and began to explain.
Five days ago, a junior from the clan accepted a job from Xiangxi to Jilin. Perhaps they were careless, as they agreed without even inspecting the contents of the coffin.
However, upon arriving at the location, they discovered it wasn't a corpse at all, but a zombie!
Since those juniors couldn't handle it, the clan commissioned Da Hu to take over the job.
Da Hu suspected that this incident might be related to the previous one. To prevent any unforeseen circumstances along the way, he called Yu Daohen to come as a precautionary measure.
Hearing this, Yu Daohen frowned. "Have you investigated? Is it the same group of people?"
Da Hu shook his head. "We are still investigating, and this time it's a commission from a fellow practitioner."
There was a rule among pallbearers: once a job was accepted, no matter what was inside, they could not back out. They had to deliver the coffin to its destination, even if it meant death.
"This is indeed quite tricky," Yu Daohen thought to himself, feeling helpless.
If it were outsiders, it would be fine; they could simply compensate them with double the payment. But this was a job from a fellow practitioner.
Since they had accepted it, they had to see it through, no matter how reluctant they were.
This wasn't just about damaging the reputation of the pallbearers.
Yu Daohen pondered for a moment and then asked, "What has the weather been like these past few days?"
"There hasn't been much rain all week; it's been sunny," Da Hu replied.
Da Hu pondered for a moment and made a decision. "This matter cannot be delayed. To prevent any unforeseen circumstances, we will depart tonight."
"Tonight?" Da Hu was somewhat surprised. "Do we need to rush so much? Master Yu, you've just arrived; won't you rest for a night?"
Da Hu naturally knew that the sooner the better, but seeing that Master Yu had just arrived, he intended for him to rest for a night before departing tomorrow.
Yu Daohen could see that Da Hu was looking out for him. He said, "After this matter is resolved, we can come back here to relax properly and get thoroughly drunk. For now, let's focus on delivering this coffin."
Yu Daohen had a bad premonition that if they delayed, something unexpected might happen.
Seeing Yu Daohen's persistence, Da Hu nodded. "Alright, I'll pack our things and prepare for departure."
After speaking, Da Hu looked at Yang Ergou. "Ergou, go pack our things; we're leaving tonight."
Hearing this, Zhou Fu looked at Yu Daohen. Seeing his sect leader nod, he got up without a word and walked towards his room.
Yang Ergou looked confused and clearly unhappy. "Uncle-Master, the rooms have already been booked. Why don't we depart tomorrow? We can relax with a bath today."
Da Hu glared at Yang Ergou, looking disappointed. "You can choose between a slap to the face or a swift kick. Now, pack your things and get ready to leave."
Yang Ergou swallowed hard. He had experienced his uncle-master's slaps before and wisely chose the latter. "I'll go pack my things right away."
