Chapter 171 Fan Wei's Plea

Shao Shan wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. The only person in this world who could injure him with a single palm strike was likely him: the strongest in the human realm, Xu Feng!

Yu Daohen walked slowly towards Shao Shan, his face expressionless. "You shouldn't have hurt him."

Yu Daohen leaned forward, preparing to charge at Shao Shan again.

"Don't kill him!" Qin Muyu stopped him from behind.

Yu Daohen halted, turning to look at Qin Muyu with a face full of confusion. "That guy was trying to kill you."

Qin Muyu shook his head. "It's partly my fault that he couldn't ascend to become a phoenix."

Back then, Shao Shan could have ascended to become a phoenix with the help of that treasure. Unfortunately, Qin Muyu ended up seizing the position of Demon King. Although Shao Shan's strength was a major factor, Qin Muyu felt guilty.

"No, this guy can't be spared." Yu Daohen turned and prepared to charge at Shao Shan again.

"Letting this guy go now is like letting a tiger return to the mountains. Who knows if he'll seek revenge next time."

"Anything that poses a danger to Qin Muyu cannot be allowed to live!"

Qin Muyu coughed twice. Yu Daohen turned back and glared at Qin Muyu. "Alright, alright, I'll listen to you."

"But I want him to swear with his lifeblood that he won't attack you again," Yu Daohen stated.

The so-called lifeblood was the first drop of blood that accompanied the formation of a demon's inner core. This drop of blood, after surviving tribulations, could also be called the demon's tribulation blood.

It was like how people often say, "I swear to heaven, if I speak half a lie, lightning will strike me." Heaven wouldn't actually strike you with lightning, and you aren't worthy of it, but swearing with your lifeblood would truly bring about a devastating strike.

Qin Muyu nodded. Shao Shan was a cunning fellow, and he thought the same. "Good."

Yu Daohen turned back to Shao Shan. "Either you swear with your lifeblood, or you die."

Shao Shan did not hesitate. He bit his tongue, and a drop of blood emitting a red glow floated in the air. "I swear with my lifeblood that I will never attack Qin Muyu again. Otherwise, my demonic path will be damaged, and I will be annihilated."

After speaking, the blood emitting a red glow flew towards Qin Muyu and finally merged into his body.

Yu Daohen finally felt relieved. Although this lifeblood wouldn't truly cause Shao Shan's annihilation, it could still severely weaken him.

"Alright, that's enough." Yu Daohen stomped lightly, and the surrounding high walls began to dissipate into wisps of green light in the air.

Shao Shan turned and prepared to leave. Staying here for another second would be life-threatening. He had to escape while he had the chance.

"Wait."

Shao Shan looked back. He saw Yu Daohen stomp the ground and appear before him. Yu Daohen's palm glowed with golden light as he firmly struck Shao Shan's chest.

Shao Shan's face instantly turned extremely grim. He was sent flying backward, crashing into the wall behind him, blood gushing out.

"He can forgive, but I can't. Consider this a bit of interest," Yu Daohen stared at Shao Shan.

Shao Shan struggled to get up, his face pale and almost unconscious. He leaned against a tree and staggered towards the forest.

Yu Daohen nodded with satisfaction and turned to walk towards Qin Muyu.

Arriving beside Qin Muyu, Yu Daohen directly scooped him up. "It's been so many years, why have you become more soft-hearted?"

Qin Muyu rolled his eyes. Why was this guy still the same, with a mouth that never stopped chattering?

Fan Wei clenched his fists, but finally mustered the courage to step forward.

"I am Fan Wei," Fan Wei said, cupping his hands. His thigh trembled involuntarily as he spoke.

Yu Daohen was stunned and turned to look at Fan Wei, his expression becoming serious. "May I ask what you mean, sir?"

Fan Wei swallowed. "I have no ill intentions, I merely wish to spar with you."

Yu Daohen saw no killing intent in Fan Wei's eyes and looked down at Qin Muyu.

Qin Muyu also shook his head, completely bewildered. What was Fan Wei trying to do?

"You can spar with me, but you must promise me one thing," Yu Daohen said.

Fan Wei's face lit up when Yu Daohen agreed. "Please, tell me."

"I want you to owe Qin Muyu a favor. If he encounters trouble in the future, you must help him," Yu Daohen said after some thought.

Fan Wei nodded. "I can do that!"

Yu Daohen saw that Fan Wei had agreed and then gently put Qin Muyu down. "Wait for me, I'll be back soon."

He then entrusted Hu Guizhi next to him. "Please take care of him for me."

Hu Guizhi nodded without hesitation. "Please rest assured, sir."

Qin Muyu looked at Yu Daohen. Although he didn't understand what Fan Wei wanted, there was no killing intent in his eyes, indicating he had no malicious intent.

"Let's go to the other side," Yu Daohen said, walking towards a direction in the forest.

Fan Wei nodded and followed Yu Daohen, his heart pounding.

Five hundred years ago, Fan Wei had encountered Xu Feng before a battle. However, Xu Feng's mere aura had terrified Fan Wei into not daring to engage.

For these five hundred years, the name Xu Feng had become an inescapable fear for Fan Wei, eventually turning into his inner demon.

Fan Wei knew clearly that if he didn't fight Xu Feng, his inner demon would never be removed, and his cultivation would never advance further.
