Yu Daochen frowned and looked outside the door, wondering why this guy had come.
Yu Daochen swallowed the vegetables in his mouth, stood up, and said to Xu Yaya beside him, "I'm going to the restroom."
Xu Yaya nodded. Yu Daochen pushed the door open and walked out, seeing a man in ancient attire leaning against the wall.
The man's white hair cascaded over his shoulders. His face was handsome, and his eyes were like phoenix eyes, no less striking than Yu Daochen's.
Yu Daochen frowned and asked the man, "Why are you here?"
The man let out a soft snort. "What, I can't come?"
Yu Daochen shook his head, puzzled. "Aren't you always reclusive?"
The man looked at Yu Daochen. "If you didn't cause me trouble, I wouldn't have come out in this lifetime."
Yu Daochen felt a bit helpless and was about to go back inside when the man suddenly called out, "Eat this."
Yu Daochen turned to look at the blue pearl in the man's hand. "What is this?"
The man stared at Yu Daochen. "Although you can refine alcohol with your internal Qi, it will still put a strain on your body. Eat this first."
Yu Daochen was a bit perplexed. This guy was usually incredibly lazy and wouldn't show up unless his life was in danger. What was going on today?
Yu Daochen took the pearl. It felt sticky to the touch. Holding his breath, he swallowed it in one gulp.
The moment he swallowed it, Yu Daochen felt a suction force rapidly drawing out all the alcohol.
Yu Daochen asked curiously, "What is this thing? I've never seen you give me anything like it before."
The man didn't answer. He turned and left, saying, "You remind me of her today."
"Remind me of who?"
The man stopped, paused, and then said, "A slut!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the man transformed into a wisp of white smoke and vanished in the corridor.
Yu Daochen was bewildered. What did he mean by reminding him of a slut? How could a man resemble a woman?
What was wrong with this guy today? He was speaking so strangely.
Yu Daochen returned to the private room and continued eating.
After dinner, Cao Qian glanced at everyone and then looked at Li Jian, asking, "Where are we going next?"
Li Jian nodded, understanding his intention. "I heard there have been strange occurrences in the suburbs lately. How about we go on an adventure?"
Xu Yaya shook her head. "I won't go. You guys have fun."
Xu Yaya hadn't wanted to attend this gathering in the first place. If Zhu Yanjuan and Zhang Baiwen hadn't insisted, she would have been busy at her shop long ago.
Cao Qian frowned. His original intention was to have Xu Yaya participate so he could create an opportunity for a hero to save the beauty.
Cao Qian quickly signaled Li Jian to stop Xu Yaya.
Li Jian nodded and coughed dryly. "Isn't Xu Yaya's boyfriend afraid?"

Cao Qian chimed in, "Li Jian, what are you saying? Brother Yu wouldn't be afraid, would he?"
Xu Yaya snorted. These two were clearly ganging up to trick Brother Yu.
Xu Yaya looked at Yu Daochen. "Brother Yu, let's go. There's no point in staying."
Yu Daochen nodded. It was pointless to play games with these brats.
As they spoke, the two of them stood up to leave.
Seeing Xu Yaya about to leave, Cao Qian quickly said, "Brother Yu, you're not really afraid, are you?"
Xu Yaya turned and glared at Cao Qian. Just as she was about to speak, Yu Daochen grabbed her arm.
Yu Daochen looked at Cao Qian, a smile playing on his lips. Since they wanted to play, he would play along properly. "Since you've put it that way, if I don't agree, wouldn't that make me seem too cowardly?"
Cao Qian was secretly delighted when Yu Daochen agreed. "If I don't scare you half to death out there in the suburbs, I'll take your surname, Yu."
Zhu Yanjuan and Zhang Baiwen shook their heads at Xu Yaya beside them. They knew Cao Qian's personality well enough to anticipate some trickery later.
Xu Yaya nodded, signaling them to rest assured. In other places, Xu Yaya might have been worried.
But in Jiangdu, even if the King of Heaven himself came, Yu Daochen might not be able to handle him.
