Chapter 155 Encountering Qiangzi

Yu Daochen’s brow furrowed. Could the spirit spring also have the effect of drastically changing someone’s personality?

After chatting for a few more sentences, Yu Daochen prepared to continue on his way.

Before leaving, the grey snake reminded him again, “Once you go in, don’t trust anyone, not even your companions.”

Yu Daochen turned to look behind him. The grey snake had already burrowed into the grass.

Yu Daochen continued to travel upstream along the stream. During mealtime, he casually ate some compressed biscuits and then pressed on.

Perhaps it was because he was walking by the water, but he frequently encountered wild animals.

The sun gradually began to set, and Yu Daochen arrived before a canyon. Gazing at the long, winding canyon, the end ahead was a patch of light, covered by plants that blocked out all illumination. The canyon was about four to five meters wide on either side, giving off a sinister feeling.

As Yu Daochen was observing the situation within the canyon, a chill swept over him, causing him to shiver unexpectedly.

If he were attacked inside, he wouldn’t even have a chance to escape.

Yu Daochen hesitated for a moment but decided to enter. If he waited until dark, he would only be able to enter tomorrow.

Yu Daochen drew the Soul Suppressing Stone short sword from his thigh with one hand, and held the Kanglong Mace at his lower back, ready to draw it at any moment.

In the pitch-black canyon, even the sound of a single drop of water falling to the ground could be heard clearly.

Yu Daochen lowered his breathing, his senses alert to the surrounding sounds.

Silence reigned all around, save for Yu Daochen’s footsteps and the occasional gust of wind.

Thump, thump, thump.

After walking for a while, Yu Daochen felt that something was amiss, but he couldn’t pinpoint what it was.

Yu Daochen slowed his pace and walked a couple of steps, then suddenly exerted force and ran forward a few steps, counting silently in his mind.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

Nine!?

Yu Daochen’s heart leaped, his expression turning extremely grim. He had clearly taken eight steps, so how could there be the sound of nine?

Yu Daochen could sense a figure to his left.

Yu Daochen slowly took out his phone from his pocket, turned on the flashlight, and simultaneously swung the Soul Suppressing Stone short sword in his hand to stab forward.

As the phone’s flashlight illuminated the left side, he saw a person identical to himself preparing to swing a Soul Suppressing Stone short sword at him.

Yu Daochen’s expression changed, and he quickly shifted his attack, preparing to block the incoming Soul Suppressing Stone short sword.

The man opposite him, identical to Yu Daochen, also changed his attack, adopting a defensive posture.

Yu Daochen looked at the man before him and finally realized it was a mirror.

Damn it, which bastard put a mirror here to scare people to death! Yu Daochen patted his chest and then began to curse.

Yu Daochen continued walking, but he always felt someone following him. Just ten meters from the exit, Yu Daochen suddenly exerted force and ran outside.

As soon as he ran out, Yu Daochen formed a hand seal. As he turned, a burst of flame erupted from his mouth and shot directly inside.

As the flame surged inward, it illuminated the environment within clearly.

Yu Daochen retracted the flame and muttered to himself, “Did I just imagine it?”

Yu Daochen turned to look at the surroundings. The area was surrounded by mountains, with colorful flowers everywhere. The trees were so large that at least four people with outstretched arms would be needed to embrace them, giving it the feel of an idyllic paradise.

“I didn’t expect such scenery on the other side of the canyon,” Yu Daochen mused.

This place wasn’t very large. I’ll search in one direction first to see if I can encounter Qiangzi.

Yu Daochen walked in one direction. A moment later, a figure emerged from the canyon, half of his face burned by flames, revealing bloody flesh.

The sky had completely darkened, and Yu Daochen found a place to rest.

Bang!

Not far away, a loud noise echoed.

Yu Daochen looked in the direction of the sound. This must be Qiangzi’s explosive talisman.

Yu Daochen ran towards where the sound originated.

Yu Daochen turned on his flashlight. The surrounding environment clearly showed signs of a struggle.

Yu Daochen followed the trail and saw a figure not far ahead, seemingly chasing something.

Qiangzi? Yu Daochen looked at the figure ahead. This was unmistakably Qiangzi’s lecherous back.

Qiangzi froze for a few seconds, then turned to look at Yu Daochen with a bewildered expression.

Seeing Qiangzi’s expression, Yu Daochen said, “Qiangzi, what’s with that look? Have you been possessed?”

Qiangzi blinked and then chuckled, “Yu Ye, why are you here?”

Yu Daochen walked closer, “I came all the way to the Greater Khingan Range to find you, and you’re acting like you don’t know me.”

Qiangzi scratched the back of his head, “I was just chasing that thing and got a bit carried away.”

Yu Daochen rolled his eyes, but judging by Qiangzi’s appearance, the poison must have been completely cleared.

“I heard you were injured on the phone. Are you alright?” Yu Daochen asked, seeing that Qiangzi wasn’t seriously hurt.

Qiangzi blinked and patted his chest, “I’m fine, just encountered a little trouble.”

Yu Daochen nodded, thinking the guy had suffered some serious injury, but now it seemed he was fine.

“By the way, did you find the spirit spring?” Yu Daochen asked.

Qiangzi sighed and shook his head, “After searching for so long, there’s still no clue.”
