Yu Daohan saw Da Hu and Su Lai looking at him with disdain, and coughed. "Since we're not sure, let's go left first. If it's wrong, we can just turn back and go right, right?"
This was the only option now. Da Hu turned the steering wheel, and the car drove to the left.
On the road, Su Lai and Yu Daohan looked out the window.
Everything was normal at first, but it became bumpier the further they went.
"Something's wrong, we took the wrong road," Su Lai said. "We're on the national highway, but this road is full of potholes, clearly not the national highway."
Da Hu also realized they had taken the wrong road and turned the steering wheel to return the way they came.
The car drove towards the previous fork in the road. Yu Daohan vaguely sensed something was wrong.
"Everyone be careful. I have a bad feeling something might happen," Yu Daohan said.
Su Lai, from the back, teased, "Master Yu, I was just joking earlier. Do you think any little ghost would dare to stop this car? I'll wring its head off and kick it around like a ball."
Yu Daohan rolled his eyes. "Be careful you don't get caught in a ghost wall later."
Su Lai sneered, "If it really is a ghost wall, I'll eat three tons of shit."
Yu Daohan was speechless. He wondered if this guy would prefer his hypothetical meal to be wet or dry if it actually happened.
However, Yu Daohan didn't really believe in ghost walls. After all, ordinary ghosts wouldn't dare to provoke a Taoist priest.
The car smoothly reached the fork in the road without any ghost wall phenomenon.
Su Lai looked proud. "See? How could there be a ghost wall? Who do you think is in this car?"
Yu Daohan was speechless, and Da Hu also breathed a sigh of relief. He stepped on the accelerator and drove towards the right.
Yu Daohan was no longer sleepy from the incident and started chatting with the others.
*Bump!*
The car jolted. Yu Daohan froze for a moment, then suddenly realized something, his expression changing as he looked out the window.
"Stop!"
Yu Daohan suddenly shouted. Da Hu, who was driving, slammed on the brakes in shock.
Zhou Fu and the others in the back almost did a somersault. Fortunately, they were wearing seatbelts. Su Lai wasn't so lucky and flew forward.
"Master Yu, what's wrong? Why did you suddenly tell me to stop? Luckily you grabbed me, otherwise my head would have been smashed." Su Lai patted his chest to calm his racing heart.
Yu Daohan glared at him. "Who told you not to wear your seatbelt? Improper car etiquette leads to tears for loved ones, understand?"
Su Lai glanced at Yu Daohan and crawled back into his seat.
Da Hu looked at Yu Daohan. "Master Yu, what's wrong?"
Yu Daohan's eyes became serious. "Don't you realize we're on a dirt road now?"
As soon as Yu Daohan said this, everyone looked out the window.
Da Hu finally reacted. "This road... we just came from this road!"
The car had been following the national highway. At that fork, there were only two roads: one was a dirt road, and the other was definitely the national highway.
"Are we just going in circles?" Su Lai couldn't help but ask.
Yu Daohan nodded. Zhou Fu and the others also looked a bit pale.
Da Hu looked at the familiar road ahead and asked, "Master Yu, are we encountering..."
Yu Daohan nodded. "That's right, we've encountered a ghost wall."
The only explanation now was a ghost wall.
Su Lai snorted. "Oh ho, we really ran into a ghost wall."
Yu Daohan turned to Su Lai in the back. "Master Su, will you be eating wet or dry?"
Su Lai coughed to cover his embarrassment and opened the car door to get out. "I want to see who dares to stop our car."
Yu Daohan was helpless. He looked at Da Hu beside him. "Brother Da Hu, you stay up here. I'll go down and see what's going on."
Yu Daohan opened the door and got out, walking to the window of Zhou Fu's seat in the back. "Stay in the car, no matter what happens, don't come out."
Zhou Fu nodded.
Su Lai used the car's lights to walk about five or six meters forward to check the surroundings.
Yu Daohan came up to Su Lai. "How is it? Didn't you say there wouldn't be a ghost wall?"
Su Lai coughed lightly. "Even horses stumble. I don't know why those little ghosts would be so uncooperative."
"Let me break this ghost wall," Su Lai said, taking out a square piece of white cloth from his backpack. Strange patterns were drawn on it with cinnabar.
Yu Daohan was quite curious. He wondered how Su Lai, who made a living on the water, knew how to break a ghost wall. He had never seen such a method before.
Su Lai threw the white cloth into the air and shouted, "White cloth breaks all methods, break!"
The white cloth floated in the air, emitting a golden light.
Yu Daohan and Su Lai stared intently at the white cloth in the air.
Just as Yu Daohan thought the white cloth was about to show its power, the golden light suddenly disappeared. Like a deflated balloon, it fell back down.
Yu Daohan:
Su Lai:
Both of them looked at the fallen white cloth, completely bewildered.
"Is this your method of breaking it?" Yu Daohan thought he had misread.
Su Lai scratched the back of his head, utterly confused. "That shouldn't be. Did I perform it incorrectly?"
