Chapter 197: Not a human

Chapter 197: Not a human

"Two new avatars, huh?" I said to myself as I looked at the screen in front of me.

Unlike my previous lifestyle, I was kept quite busy in the Land Surveying Department.

That was why I hadn’t had the time to look at these two new avatars that had been rewarded after Faust evolved.

But now that I finally had some free time, it was time to create a new avatar.

All of us were thinking that it was the right time, so I might as well create it.

Only it seemed like we were running out of ideas as to what kind of avatar we could create.

"I could always look into that tab that I had never looked into before." I thought to myself before opening up the avatar creation screen.

The tab that I was referring to was one that was related to the race of the avatar.

So far, I had only been creating avatars that were either human or humanoid in nature. However, it wasn’t as if this was the only choice when it came to the race of the avatars.

I had just avoided using the other options.

There were races like beastmen, dwarves, gnomes, and such, but I wasn’t interested in those races right now.

The one race that I was interested in was...

"Non-human."

The best way to describe this race was simply...monster.

I could create an avatar that was a monster and send them out into the world to take over the monster world.

"Now, what kind of monster should I create to take over that world?" I said to myself as I browsed through the different options.

It was surprising to see how many options were available, but I could also easily figure out why those options were available.

One was as a black dragon.

However, there was a catch to being a black dragon.

It was an impure bloodline that would require a lot of refining before it could be considered a true black dragon bloodline. That meant that the black dragon avatar that was created with this impure bloodline wouldn’t have access to most of the powers that a black dragon would have.

The only thing that the impure bloodline would give was a boost to stats that came with all dragon bloodlines.

While this would be useful if we were lacking in basic stats, but it really wouldn’t be helpful since we were sharing our stats in the first place. Just this boost alone wouldn’t have been enough to give us any substantial boost to our power.

It would be a waste of an avatar if this was all that was done with it.

So there was no reason for me to create a new avatar with the black dragon bloodline.

Instead, there was something else that caught my eye.

"If one thinks about monsters, then this would be the most iconic one. Though if you think about it, it will be a gamble as to how this avatar will turn out..."

But in the end, I decided that this would be the one.

This was the best avatar that could be created.

Even if the gamble didn’t pay off, the avatar would still become strong enough to take over as the king of monsters with all the skills that we shared with it.

So I quickly set up the avatar and created it.

The moment that it was created, there was something that dropped to the ground in front of me.

"Boing, boing."

There was a smile that crept its way onto my face when I saw this.

This was a creature that one wouldn’t think was capable of anything dangerous with how small and round it was.

However, one couldn’t look down on this creature since it was much more dangerous than one could think.

It was a slime.

This was one of the staples of the fantasy world and it was only natural that this was the monster avatar that was chosen.

But there was also a very special reason why a slime was chosen.

It was all because of a special skill that the slime race possessed that would help make this slime much more powerful.

"What are you looking at?"

Even though this was a slime, it still possessed intelligence since it was one of my avatars. At the same time, we were able to communicate with each other since we had shared senses.

"It’s just funny how you look."

"Tch." The slime avatar seemed to click its tongue at me even though it didn’t have one, so it just made that sound in my mind.

After we took some time exploring the capabilities of this slime body, it was time to prepare to send this slime off.

It was a good thing that since this new avatar was a slime, we were able to send it off without a problem.

But just to be sure, I did use Rothchild’s services.

His company dealt in underground matters and could keep this hidden.

Though there really was no need for it to be hidden since it was just releasing a slime into the wild.

But it was better that as few people knew about this as possible.

After arranging this, I put the slime avatar into a box and sent it off to the company to transport into the wild.

Though none of us expected what happened next.

"It’s just a slime, does it matter if we transport it or not? Will they even care if it goes missing? It’s not as if they’ll be able to track it."

It seemed that we hadn’t been strict enough in managing the company.

Or at least, we weren’t strict enough in managing the people that were under the companies that we absorbed.

We had thought that it would be fine for us to just absorb all of them without a care, but this bit us in the butt in the end.

Still, it wasn’t as if the slime avatar was in any danger.
