Chapter 307: Chapter 305: Taking the Child Away

「Farmhouse.」

The man looked at the turned-off screen of his phone, his face revealing a malicious intent. "Jian Xi, you’ve caused me to end up like this today. You should have died long ago!"

In the shadows, Si Junyan lifted his head, laughing uproariously at the sky.

He ordered the people around him, "Arrange a private plane for me. As soon as the plan is complete, we’re leaving this damned place immediately."

Impatience and anxiety oozed from Si Junyan’s cold and fierce face.

His subordinate responded, "Indeed, we should leave quickly. I’ve just received news that Si Yuhuan is already on his way to W Country."

"What? Isn’t he in Q Country?"

Si Junyan furrowed his brows, instantly panicking. It really was a case of whatever one feared most coming to pass.

"Everything has to be sped up! If Si Yuhuan arrives, I’m as good as dead. Damn my bad luck!"

"I’ve worked long and hard for all of this; it cannot fall apart at the last moment!"

「....」

Si Yuhuan was on a private jet, heading straight for Saint Seymour.

"Are you sure you’ve seen Jian Xi here?"

For these past months, he had never given up searching for Jian Xi. So what if she had another man’s child? As long as her marital status remained blank, he wouldn’t give up!

Yan Qing scratched the back of his head. "I’m not really sure, but you’ve almost turned Q Country upside down searching for her. I suspect you’ve got the wrong information and that Madam isn’t in Q Country. If we continue like this, those above might start looking for us. Maybe we should try Saint Seymour."

The more he spoke, the less confident he became.

"Fine, let’s look there."

He pinched the bridge of his nose, his entire being fading into the shadows, his intense presence receding, making him appear utterly exhausted. The closer he got to Saint Seymour, the more anxious he felt, as if something bad was about to happen.

「......」

Jian Xi had been screaming in the delivery room for half an hour. Her throat was hoarse, and her entire body was drenched as if fished out of water.

The bright light was so intense she could barely open her eyes.

She was struggling to stay conscious.

The nurse kept comforting her, "Push hard! Don’t scream. Please, use all your strength for the delivery. Take deep breaths. That’s right, control your breathing rhythm."

Jian Xi was so tense it felt like every pore on her body was about to explode.

"Si Yuhuan, you son of a bitch! I’m giving birth to your child, and you still want to kill me! I will never forgive you; we cannot coexist under the same sky!"

With her last scream, she heard the doctor say, "I can see the head now! Continue pushing!"

It hurt so much!

Jian Xi’s mind was filled with hatred.

Wan Yu stood outside, her heart pounding with fear. Being a mother was the most magnificent thing in the world, but it was also the most grueling ordeal. Her best friend was suffering inside, and there was nothing she could do except pace around.

Suoya stepped forward to help her sit down. "Miss Wan, don’t worry. Miss Jian is blessed; even if it’s a premature birth, she will definitely have a healthy baby."

"I hope so."

Now, all Wan Yu hoped for was the health of Jian Xi and the babies.

"The delivery might still take a while. Why don’t you and Doctor Jian go rest? I’ll handle things here," Suoya offered.

"How could I do that!" Wan Yu refused without a second thought.

Suoya bit her red lips, as if steeling her resolve. "Okay then, I’ll go make some coffee for you and Doctor Jian to help you stay alert."

"Alright, go quickly."

It wasn’t long before the coffee was served. The aroma was captivating.

"Suoya, you make great coffee. No wonder Xixi likes you," Wan Yu said.

Suoya awkwardly tugged at her lips. "Is that so? I’m glad Miss Jian likes it."

Wan Yu didn’t think much of it and gulped down her cup with the gusto of someone downing a drink.

Suoya handed a coffee to Jian Sirun, who frowned, hesitant.

"Doctor Jian, when Miss Jian comes out, everything will still depend on you!" Suoya urged.

Quite right, Jian Sirun thought.

He picked up the cup and took a sip.

Suoya curved her lips into a smile, dutifully waiting alongside the two at the delivery room door.

A loud WAH! echoed.

"The baby’s here!" Wan Yu was so excited she nearly jumped.

Suoya’s eyes also lit up.

A young nurse came out to announce the joyous news, while another carried out a soft, adorable baby boy. "Congratulations, Doctor Jian! Miss Jian has given birth to a little boy! Miss Jian is safe and well."

"Good!" Jian Sirun’s usually expressionless handsome face finally broke into a faint smile.

He reached out to take the soft bundle, his smile deepening.

This was his little nephew. So adorable! He looks so much like Xixi, almost as if carved from the same mold.

"We’ll go back in to help. Please wait here for a moment," one of the nurses said.

Soon, only Wan Yu, Jian Sirun, and Suoya were left in the hallway.

Wan Yu cheerfully went over to take the baby. "Huh? My head is spinning."

She suddenly felt weak all over, her vision blurred, and THUD, she collapsed to the ground.

"Wan Yu?"

Just as Jian Sirun reached out to help her, he too felt a wave of weakness and fainted.

In a daze, he managed to open his eyes and saw Suoya frantically holding the baby, apologizing profusely before turning to run.

"The baby..."

Jian Sirun tried to yell but couldn’t utter a single word before completely losing consciousness.

Suoya had just run to the hospital entrance when she met Zhang Yaxuan and Hilda walking in.

She quickly hid the baby in a large bag she had prepared earlier.

"Has Miss Jian given birth?" the two asked with a smile.

Suoya, nearly dropping the baby in fright, nodded vehemently, trying to compose herself. "Yes, she has. I’m about to go help retrieve some things. You two go ahead and see her. The situation isn’t too good."

"What?!" Zhang Yaxuan panicked and, without any suspicion, started running upstairs.

He didn’t even notice Suoya fleeing as if escaping.

Hilda turned back to look at her frantic figure. "Why is she running?"

Zhang Yaxuan pulled him along. "Stop being so on edge all the time! Let’s hurry and see Jian Xi."

Zhang Yaxuan was the child’s father in name only. He felt somewhat irresponsible and guilt-ridden. Anxious to see Jian Xi, he dragged Hilda upstairs.

Suoya was terrified. She had just run out of the hospital when she ran head-on into two men.

When she saw their faces clearly, Suoya wiped a cold sweat from her brow and forced a smile. "Director Si, here is your son. I hope that with him, you and Miss Jian can reconcile. I entrust him to your care..."

Before she could finish speaking, the assassin beside Si Junyan suddenly lunged, plunging a knife into her chest.

Blood gushed forth.

Agony flooded Suoya, and her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Director Si, you...!"

"Hahaha! The child is finally in my hands! And I didn’t even have to lift a finger for it, thanks to your foolish loyalty, you stupid thing! Otherwise, how could I have so easily gotten this little bargaining chip?" Si Junyan sneered.

From the shadows, the man’s voice was eerie, a stark contrast to the gentle, gentlemanly demeanor he usually showed Suoya. Now, he was like a venomous snake, licking his thin lips. "Your usefulness has ended. You can die now. I’ll personally send you to hell!"

He snatched the baby, holding it close and pinching the little one’s face, a malevolent glint in his eyes. "He really looks like Jian Xi! Damn little thing! After I’m done using you, I’ll personally send you to meet the King of Hell!"

Suoya struggled. "Bastard! Si Yuhuan, this is your own flesh and blood! How can you be so heartless to him?! You deceived me! Give the baby back to me!"

The assassin sent Suoya flying with a kick.

Suoya lay crumpled on the ground, her eyes wide with hatred, blood flowing continuously from her mouth...
