Chapter 598: Chapter 186: Minor Breakthrough
Chapter 186 [Some Achievements] (6000 words)
"Let me go another round!!"
Chen Yan stared at the screen with bloodshot eyes, fiercely clicking the mouse.
A shadow beside him slowly walked over at some point, gently placing a hand on Chen Yan’s shoulder.
"Xiaoyan..."
"Yeah." Chen Yan didn’t turn around, eyes fixed on the computer screen: "Boss lady, get me a can of Red Bull."
"Xiaoyan!" The boss lady slightly increased the pressure of her hand on Chen Yan’s shoulder: "You need to stop for a moment."
"Hmm?" Chen Yan furrowed his brow, took a deep breath, and turned his head to look at the boss lady: "What’s up?"
"Do you want to take a break?" The boss lady’s beautiful face carried a hint of concern: "You... or, maybe have something to eat?"
"No need, I had dinner before coming here tonight." Chen Yan answered casually.
"You mean ’last’ night!" The boss lady looked at Chen Yan seriously.
Chen Yan was stunned, looking at the window and door of the internet cafe.
It was pitch black outside, clearly still night.
"But... huh?" Chen Yan frowned.
"A whole day has already passed! You came here last night!" The boss lady’s gaze was somewhat stern: "I’ve reminded you three times to eat in between, and you kept saying later. Now it’s night again—it’s been almost twenty-four hours since you came here last night."
Chen Yan’s gaze calmed down, and he exhaled.
He glanced at his side.
There were three empty drink bottles on the computer desk—there should have been more, but the boss lady had helped clean them up.
Indeed, it seemed he hadn’t eaten a proper meal.
Now that his mood had cooled, he genuinely felt a bit hungry.
"Xiaoyan, stop and take a break, eat something, or... you could go upstairs to the bedroom and sleep for a while." The boss lady gazed at Chen Yan: "Or I can take you home! You’ve been playing for twenty-four hours without eating or sleeping!"
Chen Yan smiled: "Alright, I’ll eat something first then."
Saying this, he took out his phone and quickly ordered a KFC delivery meal, writing the address to be Extreme Internet Cafe, to be delivered to the counter.
"Are you really not going to take a nap?" The boss lady frowned at Chen Yan.
"Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing." Chen Yan exhaled: "When the meal arrives, please help me take it."
Saying this, Chen Yan smiled at the boss lady, then turned his head back, continuing to stare at the screen, resuming his intense battle.
The boss lady pursed her lips and turned to leave.
A while later, a bag of KFC meal was brought over by the boss lady and placed on Chen Yan’s table—but she took away the iced cola, replacing it with a cup of warm chocolate milk.
Chen Yan didn’t leave his seat, but quickly opened the meal bag, holding a burger in one hand and a mouse in the other, continuing to fight.
After finishing, he gulped down the chocolate milk in one go.
Then he got up to use the restroom, but after returning, he sat at the computer, first picking up his phone to send a message to Lu Sisi at home to assure her of his safety.
Chen Yan hadn’t returned for a day and night; naturally, Lu Sisi had been waiting at home, even sending messages in between to inquire.
Chen Yan pondered, then told Lu Sisi he was cultivating his Mental Realm and Primordial Spirit, which might take more time for him to become immersed.
Lu Sisi immediately replied:
"Can I accompany you?"
After a slight hesitation, Chen Yan sent the address of the internet cafe.
After putting away his phone, Chen Yan took a deep breath, rubbed his cheeks, and focused intently on the screen, starting to battle again.
·
Half an hour later, Lu Sisi walked into the internet cafe, searched with her eyes from the entrance, and saw Chen Yan sitting at the computer.
Lu Sisi nodded with a smile and greeted the boss lady, then quickly walked to Chen Yan’s side.
"Chen Yan."
"Yeah, you’re here, take a seat." Chen Yan only glanced at Lu Sisi and continued battling, smiling as he said: "If you feel bored, just grab a computer and play yourself."
He paused, then remembered something and looked at Lu Sisi again: "I’m honing my Mental Realm and Primordial Spirit."
Lu Sisi’s smile was gentle: "I wasn’t going to ask—but whatever you do, I’m willing to accompany you."
Soon, Lu Sisi went to the counter to get a computer from the boss lady—positioned right next to Chen Yan.
She sat beside Chen Yan, first quietly accompanying him, her eyes gazing at the side of Chen Yan’s face.
The girl’s gaze was calm and gentle, her manner unhurried.
After quite a while, she averted her eyes, then opened the computer, opened a webpage, and began browsing the news casually.
·
The boss lady’s head was hidden behind the computer screen at the counter, secretly watching Chen Yan and Lu Sisi, and after a good look, she averted her eyes. Her gaze carried a hint of complexity.
At 3 AM, the boss lady brought over two bowls of noodles.
The noodles weren’t instant; she had impulsively run upstairs, back to her own house, and cooked some hanging noodles on the stove, adding two eggs and some spinach.
When she brought the noodles over, Lu Sisi smiled and gently received the tray with the bowls of noodles, saying in a gentle tone to the boss lady: "Thank you, sister."
The boss lady stared at Lu Sisi’s young face full of collagen, her gaze somewhat deep, but after hesitating a bit, she couldn’t help but whisper: "You... want to persuade him? There’s no need to play the game like this, right? It’s been thirty hours, without sleep or rest..."
