Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Forbid Loving My Husband
Victoria awkwardly greeted her stepmother and stepsister. Although her father was asleep, she didn’t want to cause a scene. However, she was so disgusted by the sight of the two people who destroyed her father’s life that he had been hospitalized for years. Her right hand was clenched tightly.
"Why am I here? Of course I want to take care of my father!"
"You liar! If you stay by your father’s side, he won’t get better."
"How dare you say such things in front of my father! It’s all you guys who made him so ill. I’ve missed him for years, but all I hear is that his condition is getting worse. Don’t you have at least a little conscience?"
Fransisca held her mother’s hand with a pleading expression. "Mom, you should just calm down."
The stepmother smiled sarcastically and slowly approached her stepdaughter. Her gaze was intense, scanning her from head to toe, her eyes shining with a certain gleam in her eyes.
"You’re truly a shameless woman! I forbade you from dating Matthias, but you still approach him like a leech!"
"I really love him. Don’t I have the right to love someone?"
"I don’t forbid you from loving anyone, but I forbid you from loving Matthias. He truly is a curse on our family!"
Victoria felt increasingly disgusted by her stepmother’s sarcastic remarks. Moreover, she felt nauseous and wanted to vomit again because of her pregnancy.
"Our family? Since when did you consider me your family? You’ve been ignoring me all this time." Victoria smiled sarcastically. "Besides, how dare you call yourself part of my family!"
"You bitch! I shouldn’t have treated you so well!" The stepmother slapped Victoria’s cheek, scarring her.
Victoria couldn’t hold it in any longer. She immediately ran out of the hospital room, touching her increasingly swollen and red cheek. She briefly entered the public restroom to vomit. Since no one was there, she let out her anger by crying loudly. If she held in her anger any longer, her breathing would become increasingly labored. Her heart was torn apart by the thought of her stepmother’s murderous words.
She had been in the restroom for quite some time. Victoria walked out, her eyes sad and her vision slightly blurry. She nearly fell over, but luckily, someone caught her. She glared at the person.
"Matty, why are you here?"
Matthias hugged his wife tightly. "I was so worried about you. I actually couldn’t bear to leave you here. I wanted to go back to the office, but I felt like it wasn’t the right thing to do." He suddenly realized something was wrong with his wife’s cheek. He brought his face closer to hers. "What’s wrong with your cheek? Who did this?!"
"It was actually me–"
"I know who hurt you! I should have stayed with you. She was so rude as to ruin your beautiful face!"
Victoria wrapped her arms around her husband’s back and buried her head in his. "What should I do now?"
A sweet kiss landed on her deep cheek. "We should just go home. I don’t want to see you crying here."
Upon arriving at their luxurious residence, Victoria recounted what her stepmother had done to her while visiting her father. Hearing this, Matthias became so angry that he immediately hit the back of the sofa. Matthias also helped compress his wife’s cheek, which was still swollen from the hard slap.
"Tory, you shouldn’t have kicked me out after I talked to your father. I knew things would get this complicated."
Victoria pursed her lips as she stroked her husband’s hand. "I don’t want to get in the way of your work. You still have a lot to do at the office."
"Since when did I think of you as a hindrance to me? It’s precisely because I’m not by your side that makes me so anxious."
"Matthias..."
Matthias gripped his wife’s hand with an intense gaze. "Whoever hurt you, I won’t forgive them. Especially since they stressed you out to the point of nearly fainting earlier."
"But actually, I almost fainted because I vomited for quite a while in the restroom." Her right hand slowly stroked her husband’s head. "Don’t worry, I’m fine now. Thanks to you for saving me."
"If you want to cry, cry as much as you want. I won’t laugh at you."
In the end, Victoria couldn’t hide her sadness. She burst into tears, her body trembling. Her husband’s spontaneous embrace brought some comfort to her, even though her mind was still haunted by her stepmother’s cruel words.
"Matthias... I hate my life. My family hates me, my father is sick, my friends don’t always accompany me, everyone ignores me."
"I know how you feel right now. But you forgot the one person who cared about you all this time."
Victoria lifted her head slowly. Her thumb gently brushed her beloved husband’s eyelid. "If I hadn’t met you, I would definitely be feeling the pain in my heart right now."
Matthias lifted his head right in front of his wife’s face. "Even though everyone hates you, I don’t care what they say. I just want to be your life partner and a good father to our child." His right hand patted his wife’s back. "I want you to cry as much as you want. Once you’re satisfied, I don’t want you to be sad anymore. Many people say a baby’s mood is influenced by its mother’s mood."
Victoria felt even happier hearing her husband’s sweet words. She immediately planted a kiss on his cheek, lasting a few seconds. "Thank you for loving me. Even though I’ve often said I hate you, you’ve always fought for my heart."
"Because I think you hate me as much as you love me."

Back at the hospital, the atmosphere grew tense. The stepmother stared furiously at her husband, who was in critical condition. She clenched her fists tightly as she stared at the ventilator, still connected. Moreover, she was the only one in the room.
"Should we end it all now?"
