Chapter 211: Chapter 211: Special Business Trip Part II
Victoria was still curious about Matthias’s plans, inviting everyone close to her to visit the garden. After meeting Marcel, Lena, Sawyer, and Jennifer, who else would she meet next? She already had two roses. Who else would give her flowers? She walked around the garden, following the designated route.
Now she met her grandfather-in-law, who was also visiting the flower garden. This surprised her greatly, as he had previously said he had something important to do this week. Was that important thing related to the visit to the flower garden?
"Grandpa, don’t you have anything to do this week?"
Charles smiled warmly as he handed his granddaughter-in-law a rose. "Of course, my business is to witness your happy moments. Matthias invited me here. He said there’s a newly renovated flower garden that’s perfect for getting some fresh air. I’ve only been around for a while and already I love this garden."
Victoria inhaled the scent of the roses Charles had given her. "I’m sorry if my husband bothers you. He can be a bit childish sometimes."
"In fact, I’ve been really looking forward to this happy moment. Even though you two divorced, you’re still determined to maintain your relationship."
"I really love Matthias because he’s the only man who’s truly romantic. He’s stubborn, but that’s what I relate to."
"That’s why I always tell you not to hate him too much. Even though he can be stubborn and childish at times, he does everything to make you happy."
Victoria’s smile widened as she looked around. "I can’t bear to hate him because he always manages to win my heart. Like now, he’s taking me to a place I really like."
"By the way, why don’t you continue walking around? This flower garden is actually really beautiful. I wonder if my grandson designed it on purpose. There are so many photos of you all scattered around here."
Victoria continued her journey around the flower garden. She couldn’t hold back her tears any longer, as her husband was so romantic with every surprise he gave her. Now she met her mother-in-law, who also shared this special surprise.
"Mom, aren’t you busy with grandpa too?"
Lucretia handed her a rose and hugged her daughter-in-law tightly. "I can’t be busy. I actually wanted to apologize to you because I’ve always hated you and even told you to break up with my son. It turns out my mindset was wrong. If I had continued to oppose your relationship, my son would have gone even crazier."
Victoria smiled warmly as she released her embrace and took her mother-in-law’s left hand. "Of course, I never blamed you. I know you were mean to me because circumstances forced you to. I know you’re actually a good person. It just took you time to accept me as your daughter-in-law."
"Honestly, since my son started dating you, he’s been smiling a lot. So, I don’t want to ruin your relationship again. I’d be furious if I saw you two fighting again over trivial matters. Especially since my son invited me to this flower garden to accompany you."
"Don’t worry. I won’t fight with him again this time. Besides, I can’t bear to scold him for designing this beautiful flower garden."
"Why don’t you continue walking around? The view of the evening sky is even more calming."
Victoria walked around the flower garden again, gazing at the orange sky that had made her heart flutter. She was still curious about where her husband had gone. Until now, the only people she had seen were her closest friends, her grandfather-in-law, and her mother-in-law. Now, she was reunited with her ex-fiancé and her new friend.
"Ansel, Laura! I didn’t expect to see you here."
Ansel smiled shyly as he swung his girlfriend’s hand excitedly. "Matthias recommended this place for our date."
Victoria’s eyes widened as she stared at her ex-fiancé. "Really? Congratulations! You’re finally dating."
Laura handed her a rose. "This is a gift for making me date Ansel. Thank you for giving me your ex-fiancé."
Victoria let out a tearful cry while clutching a rose that she had collected from everyone close to her. "I’m very happy that Ansel is finally not alone anymore. Actually, I still feel a little guilty because I betrayed him."
Ansel burst out laughing as he stared at his lover. "You don’t have to feel guilty. I actually prefer this relationship to the one I had before. Now I’ve found the real answer: I don’t love you, but I actually love Laura."
"I’m sorry I stole your fiancé, Victoria. He and I have a lot in common."
"In fact, I pray that your relationship will grow even stronger. This flower garden is indeed the perfect place for you to go on a date. It would be a shame if you missed it."
Laura embraced her lover’s hand affectionately. "You don’t need to worry about us anymore. You should just focus on your relationship with Matthias now. He’s truly very romantic, only with you."
"Well then, I’ll continue walking around. I think I’ve almost reached the end of the garden."
"Anyway, you will find something interesting there."
Victoria gracefully walked around the flower garden, following the directions. She had already walked several times, but no one was there. For now, she could only stare at the imitation butterflies and birds hanging above the flowers. She wondered what kind of surprise Matthias had planned.
Eventually, she reached the end of the flower garden, which featured a fountain and a statue of a cupid. Furthermore, numerous small notes, expressing Matthias’s true feelings, were lined up along the path leading to the point where Matthias stood waiting for her.
Victoria cried with emotion as she read through the words poured out on each sheet of paper. She was incredibly grateful to have Matthias in her life. If she still considered her current marriage to be an unwanted one, she would deeply regret it.
Now she was standing face to face with her husband. Her eyes sparkled as she watched her beloved husband kneel before her as he opened a small box.
