Chapter 672: Chapter 49 Sunscreen Treatment
After a few hours’ drive, everyone arrived at the seaside town.
The midday sun was brilliantly shining, with clear skies, azure sea, and not a cloud in sight, and the temperature was very pleasant.
Everyone got out of the car one after another, and Aske began to ask,
“Should we eat first or go to the beach first?”
“You all go ahead, I need to shop for ingredients,” Nora replied,
They really came to shop for ingredients… the others were speechless upon hearing this. But then they heard Nora add,
“However, Aske, I suggest you go to the beach; better not wander around town too much.”
“Why… oh.” Aske instantly understood.
“Let’s go, let’s have fun at the beach!” the Squad Leader said heartily as he waved his hand, prompting cheers from the other girls.
The reason was simple, if Aske didn’t go to the beach, then at least two or three people in the group would want to tag along (to prevent competitors from sneaking away).
So it was better if everyone went to the beach together; at least it would be livelier.
After watching them leave, Nora put on a straw hat and headed for the town market.
Her appearance with a pretty straw hat adorned with ribbons, a clean and simple white dress, along with Solomon-style sandals, was so pure and lovely that it attracted the attention of many people around.
The town was small, and Sicilians tend to have a kind of “jianghu” spirit. Soon enough, a bunch of idlers followed behind Nora, bustling and whispering to each other.
They were simply confirming her status as an outsider, checking if she had any companions, and scouting for secluded spots to make their move.
After an excited half-day discussion, someone in the group suddenly fell silent. This silence seemed to have a strong contagious effect, quickly followed by a second and third person, until eventually everyone clamped their mouths shut.
Not only that, but they also lost complete control of their bodies, stiffly walking towards Nora as if possessed by some evil spirit.
One of them, controlled, approached Nora with a terrified expression, drenched in cold sweat, and dared not glance at her beautiful face, as if avoiding a man-eating ghoul. Then they heard Nora softly ask,
“Is there a famous restaurant nearby that serves local dishes?”
Feeling brief control over his throat return, the man hurriedly replied,
“Yes! Yes! The Caffetteria at the end of that street makes a very delicious Palermo roasted pasta!”
“Take me there,” Nora said.
His legs regained control, and the man almost staggered and fell. Regaining his balance, he immediately put on a flattering and careful demeanor, eagerly leading the way for Nora.
At the beach, on the sands.
The warm seaside sands were teeming with tourists from the north of Italy, and while the Sicilian locals dismissively called them “Northerners,” they eagerly made money from them, a bittersweet pleasure.
Members of the Azure Longsword squad found a spot on the beach and then set up sun umbrellas and recliners rented from a nearby shop. This world’s mainstream aesthetics didn’t idolize the “beastly bronze skin” favored by the gaudy Europeans and Americans, so everyone took care to apply sunscreen.
“Help me apply the sunscreen,” Medea said, sitting next to Aske, stretching lazily and displaying her perfect curves.
“Can’t an Enchanting Demon reach her own back?” Aske asked, surprised. Is your flexibility that poor?
“Yes, I can’t reach.” Medea shamelessly insisted.
So Aske squeezed a bit onto his palm, then quickly and efficiently spread it over her back, all done.
Medea: ……….
Peggy couldn’t shake the feeling that Aske’s motions resembled those of a scrubber at Solomon’s public bathhouse, scrubbing a clay figure.
But the Enchanting Demon mistress was still confident in her skin, believing that only a few more touches from Aske would have him deeply immersed in the wonderful sensation of her skin.
Thinking thus, Medea turned slightly, leaned forward just enough to reveal her cleavage enticingly, and said with an irresistibly seductive voice,
“Could you also apply some to the front for me~”
“Do it yourself,” Aske handed the sunscreen back to her.
Medea: !!!
The Enchanting Demon mistress huffed off. Aske, lying on the lounge chair, sighed and silently deactivated the “Desire” ability he had just plundered and been using to suppress his own urges.
It wasn’t that he was some sort of misogynistic straight guy, but touching someone inappropriately in such a public setting was certainly not okay, hadn’t he noticed that the girls over there were already approaching with murder in their eyes?
“Aske!” Peggy ran over excitedly, also holding a bottle of sunscreen.
If Aske had taken liberties with Medea a moment ago, Peggy’s hand would probably be emitting a cursed deathly glow now.
“Apply it for me,” she said, handing the sunscreen to Aske, her voice tinged with a hint of shyness.
“Only the back,” Aske twisted off the cap.
“Mhm!” Peggy chirped in agreement and then sat down with her back to him.
Peggy’s skin was probably the fairest in the squad, likely due to possessing the “Flesh” Sequence.
Most people from the country favor the beauty of “white” in women; Ximen once even said to Pan Qiaolian, “Dada loves your fair flesh.” It’s clear that fair skin can greatly enhance one’s charm.
The issue with the young lady of the Blood Clan was that she died before fully maturing, then was resurrected contaminated by the flesh-related Extraordinary Traits, causing her figure to stay fixed somewhere between an underage girl and a grown woman – an indeterminate Schrodinger state – which one can’t help but find regrettable… But indeed, fair skin does improve one’s attractiveness; calling Peggy a little beauty would be no mistake.
Aske poured a little sunscreen into his hand and then rubbed it onto Peggy’s back.
Rub, rub, rub.
“Done,” Aske tossed the bottle back to her.
Peggy scurried off with a giggly smile, her expression sweet as if she had just enjoyed a ginseng fruit, causing Aske to silently gaze at his own right hand.
Did it feel nice… applying sunscreen with this hand?
He quietly rubbed a bit on his own thigh. Too rough, no good, just swordsman’s calluses; he’d have to find time to have Nora help smooth them out.
When he looked up again, he saw Miel standing beside him, holding a bottle of sunscreen, silent but with a face full of expectation.
“Come on!” Aske couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. If one was to apply, he might as well apply for three, the Squad Leader was at your service today!
Miel sat down, her back to him, nervously biting her lower lip. The half-elf was indeed a genuine young girl, her skin soft and smooth like silky tofu, the best that Aske had touched so far.
But he didn’t take advantage; after smoothing it evenly, he quickly withdrew his hand.
Miel looked at him with some longing before finally, after a long moment, blushed deeply and thanked him, then ran off.
“So what were you all doing just now?” a voice came from above his head.
“Oh, Mia,” Aske lay back down, gazing up at the upside-down face of Mia, “Applying sunscreen, they can’t reach their own backs.”
“What’s the use of sunscreen?” Mia asked.
“It can protect from sunburn,” Aske replied, “prevent the skin from getting sunburned or turning dark.”
“Then I want some too,” Mia said.
“Come here,” Aske motioned her over with a wave.
