Chapter 694: Chapter 71: Abyss Demigod BOSS
Black Hole Law and Ripple Sword seemed similar, but in reality, they had significant differences.
Apart from Black Hole Law, many Law Skills could also achieve the effect of “teleportation,” yet these skills, without exception, consumed Spirituality, had long wind-up and cooldown times (meaning long activation and recovery periods), and required calculations and so on.
Conversely, the Ripple Sword brought teleportation to its ultimate expression: zero consumption, instantaneous casting, no need for calculations, allowing one to whizz back and forth with ease, unquestionably possessing extreme deterrence on the ever-changing battlefield.
Of course, Black Hole Law also had its advantages, such as when exploring certain places.
Facing a wall, Mia silently unleashed her Spirituality and began to observe the space beyond the wall.
Kapei was right, within the inner layer of the wall, indeed there was some mystical force sealing it and preventing the infiltration of outside forces.
Mia tried to elevate her Space Perception to a higher dimension, and quite smoothly bypassed the wall and the mystical force’s restrictions from a higher-dimensional perspective, arriving inside the reaction chamber.
Then, she sensed two figures standing inside the chamber, seemingly conversing, with specific frequency waves shuttling back and forth between them.
“dahjsdghaifgiaugf…” said the figure on the left.
“sadhiuagufgaiugbqivrq…” the figure on the right responded.
“What the hell are they saying?” Mia thought to herself in confusion.
As if perceiving something, suddenly the figure on the left raised its head, looking around.
It sensed some form of surveillance, but since this surveillance came from a higher dimension, it was unable to pinpoint the exact source; however, this did not prevent it from causing interference and countermeasures.
Some sort of intense fluctuation rapidly spread out, and Aske, Miel, Kapei outside the wall, as well as Mia who was watching inside, suddenly found themselves plunged into a state of dizziness.
Immediately after, the sound of a sword cry rang out, and everyone quickly regained clarity.
“That was close!” Miel was the first to recover and it was Aske’s Star Nine Forms. Spirit Shattering that had severed the mysterious force pulling everyone into dizziness. Just as she was about to continue speaking, she heard Aske with a furrowed brow whisper,
“Miel, pull out us four who fell into dizziness a few seconds ago!”
Without hesitation, Miel immediately did as instructed, pulling out their past selves from a few seconds before—each of them still caught in dizziness and not interrupted by Star Nine Forms.
At the same time, Aske grabbed the remaining three, and War Law. Ambush was activated, pulling everyone into a hidden state.
“Mia, what did you see?!” asked Aske urgently.
“Two figures, standing side by side, speaking words I couldn’t understand!” Mia quickly responded with the truth.
“I see, it’s ‘Ghost Shadow’ Gamoduo and ‘Mysterious Person’ Mularafak.” Aske frowned slightly, immediately realizing who was inside.
‘Ghost Shadow’ Gamoduo, with its main body as a Shadow Demon Demigod Boss, was the great Lord commanding over one hundred and thirty million Shadow Demons in the Abyss Great Cave; its ability to induce dizziness in everyone was its signature Skill “Fear Shock.”
Beside it was presumably ‘Mysterious Person’ Mularafak, with an unknown main body, a wild Neutral Demigod Boss that players, upon a stroke of luck, might randomly encounter in unpopulated areas of the Abyss Map, offering interactable quests and such.
“Players prefer to farm this BOSS because it drops certain rare space series materials that can be used for crafting equipment, or to enhance the understanding of space series laws, or to influence the law skills they are comprehending towards the space series, and so on.”
“As for the mysterious force that seals the entire reaction chamber, it must be Mularafak’s skill ‘Unknown Barrier’. The details of its mechanism are unclear, but its effect isolates space, preventing any objects or extraordinary powers from passing through.”
“Of course, the most important thing is that both of these bosses are above Lv.30, and even max-level players need to form a party of five to defeat them. With Aske and his companions’ current strength, appearing before them is tantamount to handing themselves over on a platter.”
“Although it is unclear what schemes they are concocting in the reaction chamber (Aske guesses it probably has to do with the stable energy output of the nuclear reactor), the most urgent matter at hand for everyone is now just one thing:”
“Escape.”
“Gamoduo’s Fear Shock has stunned those outside; its main body definitely has a sense of spirituality. Although according to Aske’s understanding of boss characters, these two would not bother dealing with the bugs outside before they have finished their scheming in the reaction chamber (otherwise why would they seal off the reaction chamber), but who knows when they will be done?”
“Flee! Run as fast as you can! Let the parallel world character pulled out by Miel serve as bait to confuse Gamoduo, and the rest of us will escape as far as we can.”
“Mularafak, the mysterious person, has a tracking skill. It seems its range covers the entire Abyss Map, so now Aske can only hope that they haven’t used this skill on them.”
“Upon hearing Aske say they must abandon the Research Institute immediately and evacuate, Kapei immediately started shouting:”
“How can this be? The Research Institute is my life’s work! And even if we need to evacuate, I haven’t backed up the precious data; it would take at least a dozen hours to download everything…”
“His voice cut off abruptly because Miel had already pulled out another Kapei.”
“This is a Kapei from one hour in the future; he only managed to download part of the data,” the half-elf girl hurriedly explained. “Do you understand what I mean? I can pull out the you who has already downloaded some of the data from a parallel world!”
“Ah, this…” Kapei was shocked, but then quickly grasped the concept.
“Let’s say all the data in the Research Institute is packaged into 17 files, from 001 to 017. Miel could pull out 17 Kapeis from parallel worlds, each one having just downloaded files 001 to 017. Then she can transfer the data to him, allowing him to easily acquire all the data from anywhere without the need to risk staying here to download it.”
“Then let’s get going quickly!” Kapei, having realized this, immediately said.
Miel let out a slight sigh of relief and then removed the status enhancement.
Because explaining it would take too long, Miel directly located a Kapei from the future who “already understood the principle” and transferred his state of mind to the current Kapei, which was why Kapei almost instantly understood Miel’s subsequent complex maneuver.
Aske looked at Miel approvingly and thought to himself, it was good that I brought her along, and he quickly instructed Mia:
“Ripple Sword, teleport to the warehouse, now!”
“Okay!” Mia quickly activated the Ripple Sword, and everyone felt the scenery shift in an instant; they were now right in the middle of the food warehouse.
“Everyone focus on taking water and food, take as much as you can!” Aske said hastily. “Mia, find a sealed space, and throw all the food and water into it using a black hole!”
“Okay!” Mia hurriedly complied.
The so-called sealed spaces refer to independent sealed spatial fragments that drift around the Main Plane. They are often located by transcendent beings with the Black Hole Law and used as personal storage. Their mechanism is somewhat similar to Obito Uchiha’s Kamui in Naruto; transcendent beings not of the space series are unable to access them.
Mia then pulled out a black hole, and with a whoosh, she loaded everything from the warehouse into it all at once.
