Chapter 338: Chapter 351: My heart feels as sweet as if I had eaten candied fruit.
"It’s okay, I’m not tired."
The two of them laughed and chatted as they toasted the guests, with Song Mingyuan, Shen Qiong, and Old Sir Lu also helping to entertain.
It wasn’t until the afternoon that the guests began to leave, leaving only their close family and friends behind.
Han Xi sat in the meticulously decorated bridal room, feeling so exhausted she nearly felt out of body. She never imagined that getting married could be this tiring, it was even more exhausting than going to work.
Lu Jinghan had the hotel kitchen prepare some of Han Xi’s favorite dishes and brought them up: "Honey, have some food first."
Since morning, Han Xi had only had a few sips of porridge and had been busy until now; she was already famished.
Lu Jinghan took Han Xi’s hand and led her to the dining room, pulling out a chair for her to sit: "Let me feed you."
Han Xi nodded, she was so tired she didn’t want to speak, naturally preferring not to lift a finger.
After dinner, Han Xi went to the bedroom to lie down, seeing the double bed covered with bright red sheets, with dates, peanuts, longans, and sunflower seeds placed on top.
"All these..." Han Xi wondered aloud.
"Aunt Shen prepared them; she said it symbolizes having children soon and is auspicious."
Hearing Lu Jinghan mention the phrase "having children soon," Han Xi’s cheeks suddenly flushed.
"Sit here for a bit, I’ll bring a basin of warm water for you to soak your feet."
Lu Jinghan smiled and pinched Han Xi’s slightly reddened cheek, then got up and headed to the bathroom, returning a few minutes later with a wooden basin.
He placed the basin beside the bed and tested the water temperature before gently placing Han Xi’s small feet in it: "Is it too hot?"
"Just right, not too hot," Han Xi replied with a smile.
Today, Han Xi had been walking all day in high heels, her feet were nearly giving out, and soaking them in warm water was pure bliss.
Lu Jinghan sat by the bed, pulling Han Xi into his arms, intertwining their fingers: "Honey, you looked so beautiful today."
"Jing Han, thank you for giving me such a romantic wedding." Just thinking about it now, Han Xi felt overwhelmingly happy.
"As long as you liked it, that’s all that matters. After soaking your feet, take a nap. Do you want a cup of warm milk?"
Lu Jinghan looked down to find that Han Xi had already fallen asleep.
Listening to her gradually gentle and even breathing, Lu Jinghan laid Han Xi’s head on the pillow, bent down to dry her feet with a towel, pulled the blanket over her, and carried the basin to the bathroom.
Han Xi, groggy, didn’t know how long she had slept; when she reopened her eyes, the sky outside was already dark.
She lifted the blanket and got out of bed: "Jing Han..."
In the living room, Lu Jinghan was on the phone; hearing her voice, he briefly spoke and hung up.
He turned to see Han Xi emerging from the bedroom: "Honey, you’re awake."
Han Xi walked barefoot over to Lu Jinghan and embraced him: "I thought you weren’t here."
Han Xi’s soft voice carried the huskiness of having just woken up.
"Silly girl, where could I have gone? Hurry up and freshen up, everyone is already in the dining room."
"Okay." Han Xi turned to head to the bathroom but was stopped by Lu Jinghan: "Why aren’t you wearing shoes? Let me carry you."
Han Xi smiled sweetly and nodded.
In the bathroom, Han Xi’s bare feet tread gently on Lu Jinghan’s feet, as he embraced her from behind, resting his chin in the curve of her neck.
Han Xi was brushing her teeth, toothpaste foam adorning the corner of her mouth; looking in the mirror at the man she would spend her life with, her heart felt as sweet as if she had eaten candied fruit.
After brushing her teeth, Han Xi couldn’t resist turning to kiss Lu Jinghan’s lips, a hint of mint wafting into his nostrils with her breath.
