Chapter 214: Chapter 219: Then I’d Willingly Accept It.
Li Chenghao followed behind Han Xi, watching her get into the car and leave, before he pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it, his deep eyes filled with melancholy under the black umbrella.
.......
Han Xi had already called Sister Zhang earlier, saying she would cook dinner herself tonight, so Sister Zhang wasn’t at the villa.
After Han Xi got home, she took the things to the kitchen, went upstairs for a warm shower, and changed into home clothes, drying her hair.
Seeing that it was still early, Han Xi lay down on the bed to take a nap since she was a bit tired after walking around all day.
When Lu Jinghan came back, he didn’t see anyone in the living room or kitchen, so he went upstairs.
He opened the bedroom door. The room was dark, but he could still see Han Xi lying on the bed.
Lu Jinghan walked over, helped her cover up with the blanket, and kissed her on the forehead before going downstairs.
He went to the kitchen and looked at the ingredients Han Xi had bought, unbuttoned his shirt cuffs, rolled them up to his elbows, and started preparing dinner.
In the bedroom, Han Xi groggily opened her eyes, seeing the sky outside growing darker, she quickly got out of bed.
When she reached the staircase, she saw the kitchen light was on, and a sweet smile appeared on her lips.
She went downstairs to the kitchen, where the man stood backlit, his tall, long-legged silhouette casting a perfect shadow on the ground.
Han Xi hugged Lu Jinghan’s narrow waist from behind, her voice as soft as water, slightly hoarse: "When did you come home?"
Lu Jinghan put down the vegetables in his hand and wrapped Han Xi’s small hands in his palm: "Just got back, saw you were still asleep, so I didn’t wake you."
"I went shopping with Manman and the others today, bought you some clothes, you should try them on later."
"Okay, Mrs. Lu is indeed considerate."
.........
In a short while, Lu Jinghan had already prepared the hot pot, and Han Xi sat down at the dining table, her gaze falling on the bottle of yogurt.
She clearly didn’t take it when she checked out.
Han Xi got up and threw the yogurt into the trash can: "This yogurt is spoiled, don’t drink it."
Lu Jinghan listened to his little wife’s flimsy excuse but didn’t plan to ask anything, knowing something must have happened to upset her.
After dinner, the two of them sat on the couch in the living room watching TV shows, Han Xi leaning against Lu Jinghan, not wanting to move: "I’m so full, I could burst."
"How about we do some exercise to help digest?" Lu Jinghan said seriously but with a hint of mischief.
Han Xi tilted her head, pinching Lu Jinghan’s chin: "You’re really... quite the appetite."
"It’s because my Mrs. Lu is so sweet."
Lu Jinghan’s shimmering eyes were deep and full of emotion, easily drowning someone in them if they weren’t careful.
Han Xi didn’t know what had gotten into her lately, her heart felt as if a feather lightly grazed it, a tantalizing itch.
"Aren’t you afraid of being exhausted one day, Mr. Lu?"
Han Xi’s pale fingers gently rubbed against Lu Jinghan’s chin, a gentle lingering smile on her clean, elegant face.
"I’d do it willingly."
.............
After showering in the bathroom, Han Xi lay in bed and fell asleep, having been thoroughly tired out.
When Lu Jinghan came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, Han Xi’s phone, charging on the bedside table, rang. He walked over, tapped the screen, and his eyes seemed to wrap in ice shards.
Li Chenghao sent Han Xi photos of their past together every night, most of which were quite intimate.
[I will definitely take you back from him; in this life, you can only be my woman. Did you see that bottle of yogurt? You used to drink it every time you had hot pot.]
Lu Jinghan took the phone to the balcony and called back this number.
